Oh so touchy...I must have struck a nerve.I love it...Wisconsin finally wins the conference a couple of times1 and suddenly they are some sort of great up-and-coming program. Once again...come talk to me next time either of your pathetic also-rans goes undefeated. Wisconsin has won the Big 10 five times in the last 50 years...congratulations. Nebraska has won the National Title and gone undefeated the same number of times in the last 50 years. Hey, were you alive in 1990, 1989, 1988? Tell me what it's like to go 1-10, 2-9, and 1-10 in consecutive seasons.2 Tell me what it's like to always be the red-headed step child of your conference.3 Nebraska has been one of the top teams in College football nearly my entire life. A couple of bad years, but we have never been one of the second-tier teams in our conference.4 Yeah, Wisconsin won the conference a couple of years in a row...but you are still Ohio State, Michigan, and Penn State's5(and soon to be Nebraska's) little B**CH! So NU didn't win the B1G the first year in....we are still not like Wisconsin...playing way over our heads. Let's see how Wiscy does next year when their hired gun6 is gone at QB. If there is any program in decline, it will be Wisconsin. They have peaked, and I think that's why your panties are so tightly wound...you know it.When's the last time you won your conference?
How many BCS games have you been to? (I'll go ahead and give you a hint UW has been to more)
If Edward Gibbon was still alive he'd write a book on you guys...
1. We've won the conference more than a couple times. Since conference expansion UW has won the conference a quarter of the time.
2. I was alive and living in Madison at the time. Those were rough years no doubt but that's the era we developed so many of the great traditions that had your fans crying and whining the whole drive home to Lincoln so it was a good bit of fun.
3. We are a founding member of this conference...since 1896, that's a longer continuous membership than any of the other current football powers. We have 183 conference championships buddy. Red-Headed Step Child? That'd more likely go to the one institution that isn't in the AAU and came in with one of the sh!tiest endowments in the Conference. You would know more about that than I, you guys have been in what, five different conferences? Wherever you can scoop up those easy wins right? Nice to have you now that Texas chased you out of the Big XII I guess...
4. How do you fall to second tier when the only other power in your conference for oh-so-long was Oklahoma...you had no competition...
5. Penn State, good god man do some research before you post, just like your earlier claim implying that we've never had an undefeated season. Since I did mine here's a fun fact...Nebraska doesn't have a winning record against any of those teams you mentioned...including Wisconsin. While you're red in the face and looking that up you can add Minnesota to the list. 21-29 against the Gophers for your Superpower of the Plains.
6. This again? I thought HB and I solved this mainly because...oh I don't know... you have no proof? Oh that's right its a completely baseless accusation. That alone pretty much kills you on the "I can make a rational argument" front.
Look man really, its nothing personal I swear. I'm not even worked up about this, every so often I like to hash this out because its just a fun argument to have but I think if you took a step back you'd agree that NU is in decline as most HB'ers I've read have said in the past. I mean look at this and tell me your boys aren't slipping...
