Dylan Raiola

I agree that it would be nice to see something. But, as @Husker_In_WI noted, he might simply think there is nothing to announce if he is planning to stay.
True but if you or me were the quarterback of Nebraska football, what would you do in this situation? Would you tweet a few words or something a month ago and put it rumors to rest? Or....

You could. But he could also just be keeping his options open or using a bit of leverage. Doesn't mean he's on the way out.

He could be. But I don't think it's a foregone conclusion just because he hasn't posted something.

Since nobody can declare for the portal until January 2 there's not much reason to issue a statement beyond soothing worried fans. And let's face it, worried fans have often been burned by players changing their minds.

If remaining quiet and letting the rumors swirl spurs a fresh NIL campaign to keep you around, why not? Maybe the vibe and performance of the bowl game could tip things. Even if he plans to stay, keeping quiet makes sense. But I'm like you, doesn't look good.
It's not like a statement is needed coming out of the University of Nebraska.

This whole time has been "hush-hush" since the rumor came out in early November, or about 4 weeks ago.

Let me ask you this.

You went to Pasadena to see the Huskers play at UCLA. Did you call some friends, pack some bags, a tooth brush, change of underwear, and make a subtle announcements to the people you love that care and support you?

Private Santiago wrote 14 letters in 9 months, begging for a transfer order. And upon hearing the loud noise, the rumors and chatter, Private DR hadn't spoken a word to a soul, not even anyone who wondered what is going on.

Can you explain this, Colonel Jessup Guy?

I would probably do what my agent asked me to... guessing silence raises offers if there is more than one suitor.

Dylan is most likely trying to see if any top 15 programs are willing to take him at his asking price and if not then squeeze more money out of Nebraska.

Which to be honest kinda sucks if it drags on because with today’s day and age of tampering with players, having DR publicly say the rumors are false/he’s coming back, then he could be talking with some Potential Oline WR transfers.

I think what's going on is mirroring what a lot have experienced in life at your job. Quietly test the waters to see if there's another company that'd take you, another section you could do an internal transfer to etc...You might tell your closest homie or work wife, but you keep it tight (or no one so it never leaks). Just in case you don't get it and current boss, co-workers, upper management get pissed and now you're in the dog house.

Or Occams razor. He's processing unc getting fire, new OL coach, Dana coming back or not, rehab and WTH he do with no EJ......

I think he's been a pretty good leader already.

Me too. Which is why it's troubling to consider that between bleeding Husker Red and doing the band of brothers thing with his Nebraska teammates, Dylan might still be attracted to a bright shiny object in the SEC and/or cold hard cash.
