Dylan Raiola

For what it’s worth, keeping DR15 probably meant: keeping Donny as OL coach, running Satterfields offense vs Dana’s offense, offering a low 3 star QB in Dayton and whatever other stipulations or arrangements/understandings we don’t know about etc. NU kind of bent over backward for this dude and sometimes the juice ain’t with the squeeze.

Seems like best case scenario for all parties was for him to move on.

He was a hell of a QB for sure. I hope he gets what he wants and balls out at another school and makes it to the NFL.

This is about as unprofessional as possible and just seems real unlikely.

Makes me extremely curious as to what the exact chain of events was here. It doesn't actually matter, I'm just curious. Was it:
  • Rhule decided to fire Donovan first, and then Dominic & Dylan got upset and said "we're transferring?"
  • Did Rhule get wind that Dylan was leaving no matter what and then fired Donnie?

Now that he's off the team I'm just going to go ahead and say this. Wasn't going to say it previously...but I was really getting tired of the Patrick Mahomes LARPing.

Going to miss Raiola's play a ton and I think this is actually a big loss. But I'm happy to be done with the cringey LARPing.
And sadly, I think that is what he was most known for while at NU. Unsure if anyone outside of Husker fans knew about his stats.

Before placing DR into the Husker HOF, he helped the Huskers beat these teams....

UTEP (awful team)
CU
Northern Iowa (FCS)
Akron (awful team)
Houston Christian (FCS)
Rutgers 14-7
A very bad Purdue team (0-9 B1G)
A bad Wisconsin team
6-6 Boston College
Michigan STATE (1-8 B1G)
Maryland (1-8 B1G)
Northwestern
... and Cincinnati

Are you sure TJ couldn't do that too? With all the off-season reps?

Does NU really need to open the checkbook for the next great transfer QB to save the team?

Replacing the OL coach, DL coach, and DC is a great start. Use the checkbook on older, better linemen and build a real "Big Ten team" for once. That is needed more than a transfer QB.

I am definitely good with Lateef as qb1.

It sure looks like just another person(s) making it all about them the second it quit being all about them. Which is why he ended up at NU in the first place.

Yep. Carson Beck announcing he was coming back to Georgia and not declaring for the draft was undoubtedly the reason Dylan signed with us.

And he had a coaching staff set him up for the LARP wet dream of a lifetime by running the Chiefs offense.

And then he was made a multimillionaire here (which could have happened other places but still).

Once they’re getting paid, they absolutely deserve this level of scrutiny.
