I'm guessing Dom sent a sternly worded text to Hayes after this tweet
there is a +more at the bottom.. just say'n. I've also watched a couple QB analysts suggesting that DR take a year behind a good QB.

It seems like we traded Dylan Raiola for Geep Wade. Geep better be one hell of a miracle worker.
That’s the gamble that I was talking about, because Rhule knew there was a good chance Dylan would bounce when his dad learns that Donovan was going to be fired.
I’ll be thrilled it it works out, of course. But I’m saying it’s going to be relatively obvious what our ceiling is going to be if we pull a Junior QB transfer out of the portal that’s really average.
Hopefully we’ll get a good QB out of the portal.
I don't really like Runzas either, cooked cabbage is terrible IMO.
Pretty sure it was more about money for Dayton and Dylan AND the direction that the offense is going to take..I don't think Donnie being canned had much to do with Dylan leaving. From what I heard Dom and Donnie were not really on the same page as the season went on (let's just say the family Christmas will be awkward this year).
They have the money, but refuse to spend it like other programs. I’m sure the bean counters are satisfied with 6-8 win seasons and bowl appearances. To Hell what the plebs want. We haven’t taken winning seriously around here since solich was booted. Until there is a salary cap, those that spend the most will win the most.We apparently don’t have the NIL $ other programs have, so really need to work all the soft angles.
I think it’s safe to say the marriage to the Raiola family was over.I don't think Donnie being canned had much to do with Dylan leaving. From what I heard Dom and Donnie were not really on the same page as the season went on (let's just say the family Christmas will be awkward this year).
If they were not already rich, my guess is he would stay at NU and bank.I think it’s safe to say the marriage to the Raiola family was over.
Dom upset with play calling for TJ in UCLA game (a game we won).
Dayton decommits.
Donovan relieved of duties.
Dylan hits the portal.
This ain’t rocket science. Seems it was a done deal as soon as Dom was displeased that QB2 showed a good result. Pretty much a no win position. Donnie couldn’t protect Dylan, Dylan couldn’t protect himself and papa wasn’t happy. I don’t see how Nebraska or Rhule changes any of that without a time machine and a better OL. It is what it is.
So what if TJ Lateef has a good or possibly great game against Utah?
If they were not already rich, my guess is he would stay at NU and bank.
But they are rich and DR is rich, so they can shop around for what they think is the best spot to help him get to the NFL
Of the top 50 high school quarterbacks who signed with FBS programs in the recruiting classes of 2017 through 2020 — according to the 247Sports Composite rankings — 126 of the 168 players tracked had transferred at least once during their time in college. That's 75 percent.
A large chunk of NU fans will spin it as "Utah wasn't motivated for the bowl game".
The flip side is also true.
Relatively obvious what our ceiling is with an immobile QB behind a subpar line.
I’m glad Rhule is willing to make changes to things that aren’t working. It may work, it may not, but the status quo wasn’t working.
From what I heard Dom and Donnie were not really on the same page as the season went on (let's just say the family Christmas will be awkward this year).
Sooooo... We should just allow a 4 yr o-line coach to continue to produce garbage just to keep a marginal QB..?? Makes sense...
