Dylan brought a buzz and optimism to Nebraska that we really haven’t had since Frost was hired and that’s what I’ll remember him for. That CU game last year was electric and one of my favorite games I’ve attended. Best of luck at Oregon (drop the Mahomes cosplay).

This is a highly underrated comment. The reason many fans feels spurned by Dylan was that the fans (collectively) put a lot of faith and hope into Dylan leading the revival back to being a power in the sport. It is very close to the feeling most had when Frost came back after the Mike Riley debacle. When the success wasn't immediate or didn't live up to lofty expectations, there is a sense of betrayal.
