Marrow to Kentucky

Kevin Gladney- This isn't going to effect my decision.

Greg Hart- This isn't going to effect my decision.

Courtney Love- This isn't going to effect my decision.

Marcus McWilson- This isn't going to effect my decision.

Antoine Miles- Not sure what I am going to do. Going to look elsewhere, but hasn't officially decommitted.

Those are the players thoughts on Marrow leaving.

....too much fun here. are we just trying to keep marrow or working off our "ideal" staff? here's a mix....($6,000,000 budget)

Head Coach: Joe Moglia – Somewhere out there ($750,000)

Offensive Coordinator: Tim Beck – NU (keeping for continuity - and he's relatively cheap in comparison to the others here, so I need the $$ to stay under budget) – ($500,000)

Offensive Line: Pat Hill – Falcons/Fresno ($650,000)

Running Backs: Ron Brown - NU ($400,000)

Receivers-Co Offensive Coordinator: Scott Frost – Oregon – will be groomed to take over the OC position when Beck leaves. ($650,000)

Defensive Coordinator: Tosh Lupoi - Washington ($750,000)

Defensive Line: Brick Haley - LSU ($550,000)

Linebackers: Bob Gregory – Boise ($450,000)

Secondary: Ron Cooper – LSU ($550,000)

ST & Recruiting Coordinator: DJ Durkin – Florida ($750,000)

Graduate Assistant Coach: Anyone (someone dedicated to the TEs though)

Graduate Assistant Coach: Anyone (someone to assist the OL)

Graduate Assistant Coach: Anyone (someone to assist the DL)

...and for S&C I'd pluck someone from the SEC. Yoxal from Auburn is likely looking. I might also go after Stanford's S&C. Whatever they are doing with the big guys, is working.
What makes you think Frost can make a good OC? Not one thing out there points in that favor. Rich Fisher > Scott Frost any day of the week for me.

I don't know that, that's why I'm keeping Beck and letting Frost work his way into the position. I don't see Beck as a long term hire, he'll be an HC somewhere. Frost is still a number of years from that so I could get 5-7 years out of him at NU. And you're thinking too small - if you look at the list it's leaning HEAVILY towards a concentration on recruiting. That's where Frost >>>> Fisher. With this staff, I need talent on the roster much more than I need it wearing a headset.

I would agree that Frost is ahead in the recruiting aspect. But Fisher is no slouch.

I am not sure how you would rate that because here is the stats for Oregon and Nebraska passing... They have a better completion rating than NU, and are obviously a run first, pass second like we are. We statistically match Oregon in every phase except for defense and we have faced much better defenses than they have. I would take coaching ability over recruiting ability. Just my two cents lol. I am not trying to argue or debate, but just want to understand where your coming from :)

Oregon #72- 7.8 attempt avg, 68% pass completions

Nebraska- #73 7.7 attempt avg, 61.8% pass completions

Edit: Recruiting standpoint, I imagine you mean all around and not just WR right? I think we are strong offensively for recruiting now. Frost I don't think would make it any better. I don't see how he could improve recruiting from a defensive standpoint.

again, you're thinking small. Those WRs aren't going to be here forever. I'm not trying to fix things for 2013 - i'm trying to solve the next 10-20 years. And I'm far from worried about our defensive recruiting when you've got Lupoi taking care of Cal, Durkin roaming FL & NC, and Haley/Cooper lurking through the south. Frost is a solid recruiter in TX as well, with a number of connections. Just because he isn't the lead recruiter on a defensive guy, doesn't mean it wasn't his connection that started the process. if he can sell Oregon to a TX kid, he should be able to sell NU to one as well.

Interesting how many accuse Bo of not knowing what he's doing, hiring inexperienced coaches and only hiring his buddies.

Now we're about to lose one and the meltdown begins...
I'm not one of those people and I could be way off base on if Marrow is good, but I know what I see in Cotton and I know we could have better, not being a Cotton hater, just being honest.
Your not even close to the base. your that far off.
And *YOU'RE* completely wrong in that assumption of me... I didn't know I have to think how you think or else I get treated like crap here...
If you're going to do grammar smack, at least construct a sentence that people can read. I don't want you to think like me. All I said is you're off base.

Wow I don't think I've EVER seen 19+ to a post. I must not be paying attention to Hedley's threads cause I'm not sure where all the hate is coming from.

I haven't seen a poster so unlikeable since August. Tell me, Hedley, are you by chance a fan of Joseph Heller?

Bo shared this on Big Red Wrap Up regarding Marrow's departure from NU:

" ...I am happy to see him get this opportunity to join Mark Stoops’ coaching staff at Kentucky. Vince will do a great job and we wish him the best."
