NBA 2024-25

It's January and I have still not watched an NBA game since the first few Maverick games. Not even TNT or ESPN or any of the podcast or TV personality shows.  None of it. Just completely shut it off and tuned it out.

I have no idea who is good or underachieving or drama stories, etc. 

Nothing.  I only google the standings once every few weeks.  If a player is injured I hear about it but that's it.  

It feels great!  I feel great.  Will check back around the final few weeks of playoff positioning.  That's usually when it starts to get good.

 
@admo, Nugs/Mavs playing 2 in a row.  Nugs took the first yesterday.  Obviously helps that your two best players are hurt at the moment.  How you feeling about your team?

I feel great.  I have no clue about the Mavs, your Nuggs, Guy's Golden State or the NBA.  I only watched 2 games this year and hardly any highlights. 

I occasionally check the standings.   Freaked me out (in a happy way) when I noticed Cleveland was like 14-1 or something.

I'm just not following NBA this year.  First time forever.  I may get back into it around the playoffs.  I just fell out of love for the production/entertainment, the play-by-play, the drama, and media hype or hate or arguments.  Blah Blah Blah.  You know what I'm talking about or what I mean.  It feels less about basketball and more about entertainment, the officials, the league, etc.  Each year gets a little worse.  And to think, I was looking forward to seeing how JJ Redick would handle the Lakers or how they would do with him (fair or unfair).  

Good luck to the Nuggets - hope yall win.  Esp since I'm not paying attention the NBA.  

 
Nice to see that game from Jamal last night. It definitely helps when Luca is out, but that was a good game for the Nuggets.

If that's the Jamal we get, Nuggets are a problem.  Can't expect 45 points every night, but the aggressiveness and decisiveness with the ball.  We'll see.  Until further notice though, Nugs are a 2nd tier WC team.

 
Murray always starts the season slow and picks it up as the season goes on. It is annoying, but at least he is good when it matters. He was hurt last postseason so just need him to stay healthy and he should be good. Still need 1 maybe two more guys for the bench to be legit contenders still I believe

Watson still isn’t super reliable off the bench and Strawther is a disaster defensively.  Braun gets his points off cuts and transition…which is fine in the regular season.  Not likely to translate to the playoffs.  Need another reliable shooter in my opinion.  But our GM will likely do what he always does…nothing.  Just wait and pray for the young guys to pop 

 
How in the hell do you part ways with a top 3 player in their prime and come away with one draft pick?  ‘Idiots’ feels too light of a term for the mavericks franchise

Sports media has lost its mind over the Luka trade. Not just that it happened, but that NONE of them had even the slightest whisper it was in play.

Also.....if Luka Doncic can be traded, anything is possible. (Wemby might be the only exception)

I think something is afoot with my Warriors, possibly the return of Kevin Durant. 48 hours till the trade deadline. Crazy things could still happen. 

For the record, I've been following the NBA for 50 years and I still like it. It's no more or less about entertainment and personalities than it ever was. Some great players at the top of their game out there.
