New Defensive Cordinator

I heard a few rumors about him wanting the top spot, but I don't recall ever reading or hearing anything official.

You're not going to find anything official on either side of it, actually. Only that he was dismissed. It is known he definitely wanted the head coaching job at Nebraska beyond the interim position. Essentially, all anyone has is rumors on that topic.

Btw, it was years ago. Get over it.

I think the firing should happen after the recuirting signing period so we don't lose any guys, and then I would realistically try to get Wally Burnham from South Florida, his defence is second in the nation in tfl's. Not sure on the recuirting part but he reminds me of Pelini, also he could easily take the job because of the step up, but he might one to stay because South Florida is on the rise IMO

Last week I spent all of my time defending Coz to some extent...and now I am responding to this thread

If the situation ever arises.....not saying it should.....YET....but if the trend continues... I agree with a few people ahead of me.

1. first person on my list is Monte Kiffin....come home, finish career...and this would help BC's image at little

2. second, I still persue Marvin Sanders.....

3. I actually don't disagree with the Dan McCarney idea...he can recruit and motivate....

can you imagine if Cally caned tomorrow and brought in mcCarney the week we play ISU!! I know it would never ever happen, but it is a crazy thought. I think you would see a lot of fire out of ISU and NU

1.Monte Kiffin- isnt he like 70? Might as well get McBRIDE same age :rollin

2.Marvin Sander- I love him for defensive Back coach as for DC not sure if he's shown enough to take over whole team.

3. Dan McCarney- Please are you kidding me? Why don't we bring back Kevin Steele if your going for failed Big 12 Coaches.

I swear to God if I hear the word talent being used as an excuse one more time I'm gonna throw up. Ball State probably ranks in the bottom 25 D1 schools in recruiting classes. Our D got owned again by a much, much lesser team.

If the D is having problems, what's the best way to help them? Continue passing and getting them back onto the field as quickly as possible right? Coz is horrible, and I think 80+ percent of us can agree on that. However, BC's playcalling was pretty crappy as well. We should have jammed the ball down their throats and ate up as much clock as possible instead of trying to win in a shootout. First of all, shootouts with bottomfeeder schools makes you look completely stupid. Second of all, giving up 600+ yards to a team like that shows all of your conference schedule how to crush you. It's one thing to get embarrassed as bad as we did on Saturday when we're playing an away game. However, it's completely another to get owned in your own backyard by a much lesser team.

I'm not throwing a name in the hat because quite frankly Coz will be here the rest of this season and all of next season. We're getting better and better at settling for being mediocre. We might as well get better and better at settling for Coz for 4 more years after this year. He's not going anywhere anytime soon.

i agree with some of the others, we need a SEC coach to come here if we go out of the big 12....no more big 10 rejects.....i dont remember wisconson winning any NC's when Cos was there...i dont remember them being that great.....a good team but not great....

does BC have any conections to coaches in the NFL that may want to take a DC job at a major college....

I think that we should try and hire Charlie Weiss as Defensive Coordinator. He seems to do a pretty good job of keeping HIS offense from scoring!!!!

A random thought but I wonder about Ron Rivera who is coaching LB's in San Diego after being DC for the bears. He might have a better shot of being a college HC now anyway. I wonder if he would consider it if the pay was right.

John Madden? Mike Ditka? Vince Lombardi? I think would be all viable candidates.
