New Defensive Cordinator

Did y'all hear, TTech's D-coord quit after the 49-45 fiasco to OK State.

Well, there goes Tech's season down the tubes...

Why would that make their season go down the tubes? They haven't had a defense for the past 8 years when Kingsbury, Cumbie, or any of the other plug-n-play QB's have been there. They'll go 7-5 or 8-4 just like they always do. They're averaging 50 ppg....They are 3-1 and here's there remaining schedule:

09/29/07 vs. Northwestern State Lubbock, Texas 6:00 PM CT (WIN)

10/06/07 vs. Iowa State Lubbock, Texas 6:00 PM CT (WIN)

10/13/07 vs. Texas A&M Lubbock, Texas 6:00 PM CT (LOSS/WIN)

10/20/07 at Missouri Columbia, Mo. TBA (LOSS)

10/27/07 vs. Colorado Lubbock, Texas 1:00 PM CT (WIN)

11/03/07 at Baylor Waco, Texas TBA (WIN)

11/10/07 at Texas Austin, Texas TBA (LOSS)

11/17/07 vs. Oklahoma Lubbock, Texas 1:00 PM CT (LOSS)

So I know John Blake is generally renowned for two things in his college football career: awesome recruiting, and running Oklahoma into the ground during the mid 90s.

I never really payed a whole lot of attention, though, to whether or not he was a very good D-line coach. If he hadn't gone to UNC, do you think our D-line would be better? Who's coaching our D-line now (I just realized I don't even know)?

. . . could he be persuaded to come back here and be a D-coordinator?

Buddy Wyatt is our D line coach. He came to us from Alabama, after Shula was fired so Saban could take over.

Seemed like a good hire at the time. I thought Alabama had some pretty good D lines the past few years.

I think Callahan made a huuuge mistake in firing Bo Pelini. That man gave us one of the best defenses in the nation, and now we have Cosgrove who apparently doesn't know how to run a defense

Really, 610 yards? I'm embarrassed
Take your 1st sentence, and don't come back until you've done your homework, please. I expect this assignment on my desk by tomorrow. ;)

Breaking News...

Cosgrove has been fired!!!!!!

:bonez :bonez :bonez :bonez :bonez

He has been replaced by this man:

2daku9c.jpg

Resume:

Knows how to punish the Infidel.

A professional at 'disguising' the defense.

So far a perfect track record on the road.

Out of position? Lackadaisical attitude? Start running towards Boulder...or hell...traitor...while we laugh and mow you down with our AK-47's.

Knows how to use weapons.

Great communicator, with both audio and video experience.

Thought to be a huge 'football' fan. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/main.jhtm...16/ixfooty.html

Arm tackling?...F*ck that, he'll just shoot you.

I hope everyone takes this as seriously as I take this thread, which currently is, btw, completely stupid and I shouldn't even feed into it.

Just curious to know if anyone had any suggestions to who were to replace cosgrove if he were to be fired today? and if he stays the rest of the season and they replace him during the off-season who would they try to 'WO' to nebraska as d-cordinator?
First, Coz ain't going anywhere anytime soon--at least during the next couple of months of this season.

But if I had to hazard a wild-assed guess at a candidate for DC, I might throw out a name like Rob Ryan. He's an FOB, both college and pro experience, and has a new HC, jr Kiffin, who might just be looking for his own guy someday soon. (btw, Rob Ryan is Buddy's kid). Rob would git 'er done too!

Last week I spent all of my time defending Coz to some extent...and now I am responding to this thread

If the situation ever arises.....not saying it should.....YET....but if the trend continues... I agree with a few people ahead of me.

1. first person on my list is Monte Kiffin....come home, finish career...and this would help BC's image at little

2. second, I still persue Marvin Sanders.....

3. I actually don't disagree with the Dan McCarney idea...he can recruit and motivate....

Marvin Sanders might be going to kansas state or texas a&m. Well he is being heavily courted by ron prince anyways
