New Oline coach Geep Wade

And I understand where you are coming from but how much time do you think or expect a position coach or head coach has to show positive results? For example Donnie had four years to improve the o-line yet he should have been fired by all accounts last season when the o-line looked the way it did. Nebraska offers a ton of resources to student athletes (young men) but bc we don't have the best developers, or recruiters as coaches we are stuck in rut of under performing and over paying the coaches. Imo the time to build or show improvement is 3 years. If you can't get a team to have positive results within that time frame their are plenty of coaches that will certainly try and have. The thing that I will say that I believe that hurt Matt Rhule from the start was (a: coming from the NFL and being out of the college game and (b: making the right hires and bringing coaches with him that you can say aren't good. We all want to see Nebraska succeed but we are tired of seeing the same patterns of losing on a consistent basis.

Weren’t you Scott Frost’s biggest fan going into year 5 of his tenure?

No I wanted him to succeed so badly bc of him being a former player for the University but year 4 I believe I lost faith in him and his coaches. Even if I lose faith and don't believe a coach will get it done I still wish for the best. We all want to see Nebraska succeed at the end of the day.

Apparently "Geep" is short for "Gideon Pillow" Wade IV.

Ooh tangent time.

Just a few nights ago I was reading a humorous story about Gideon Pillow. He was a Confederate General in the civil war. He, overestimating his own importance to the southern cause, abandoned Fort Donelson to escape capture from Union General Ulysses S. Grant. Leaving General Buckner in charge of the fort to surrender their army.

Buckner told Grant, "He thought you'd rather get ahold of him than any other man in the Southern Confederacy".

To which Grant replied, "If I got him, I'd let him go again. He will do us more good commanding you fellows".

Another one of Rhule's former assistant coaches at Temple

Teasley spent the past three seasons as the Gamecocks' O-line coach and was an assistant under Rhule at Temple in 2014.

So does every position coach get an assistant coach now?? The money we spend on coaches better place a better product on the field.

The consensus among South Carolina fans is that Teasley was absolutely cleaning up on the recruiting front, but couldn't develop for shee-it. So if his main job is to just feed Geep Wade monster OL recruits, I don't have much issue with that. Someone posted this thread on the Husker subreddit.

Hate to see someone get fired but Teasley was given a great opportunity and showed he was a great recruiter, but left a lot to be desired when it came to development (to say the least), he'll have plenty of opportunities moving forward.

It was time. He was an excellent recruiter and seemed like a nice enough guy but the offensive line continually underperformed since he took over. It’s not worth it keeping him to bring in blue chip prospects if they never develop.

One of the best recruiters I’ve ever seen at the school. One of the worst coaches I’ve ever seen at the school. Hope he lands somewhere and gets better at his craft but my word was it time
