New Oline coach Geep Wade

And apparently also a coach who selects all the best quality assistants right out of the gate on first attempt. Recognizing deficiencies and relatively quickly making required changes be damned.

I’ve seen plenty of coaches stick with the wrong assistants way too long, firsthand, because I’ve been a Husker fan. I find it refreshing when the coach identifies the same problems us fans do and then takes action to remedy them. But I’m pretty unaware of the coaches who get everything right on first go.

You're proposing a chicken/egg argument. Yes, he should fix his hiring mistakes, but I'd prefer he quit making them. He shouldn't be learning to be the head coach at place like Nebraska. He should have a long list of coaches he trusts can produce. He's not a polliwog head coach.

That's the thing he never has produced on this type of level before.

Posted an article about this (maybe another thread), but they raised $49 million in a year....$49 MILLION....Until there's contracts and salary cap this is the new age. Building a team is over. Coaches leaving for money (Lane), players leaving for money, it's a pay to play world. CFP? College Football Playoffs? Nope. College Football Payoffs.....Sad, but here we are. TT has shown the way.

True. It also helps that they are doing this in a league that is all trying to keep their nose above water. Put tech in the sec or B1G and you might have a frustrated donor that gave a nice Chunk of change for a 9-3 season and a solid gap between them and the top tier teams.

Tech is in a great spot to do this. They are like Notre dame. The system is in your favor.

In 2020, we didn't play any non-conference games because of corona. We went 3-5. If we would have played non-conference games and also Wisconsin (who backed out because of the 'virus), we probably go 6-6.

The next season Frost goes 3-9. Then he (and probably more accurately Alberts) fires the offensive line coach and brings in Donovan Raiola. We fire our oddball OC and bring in an even weirder OC. Three games into the next season, we fire Frost & then, I think it was a game-ish later, we fire Chinander.

Let's be honest here; we have about as much momentum right now as that 2020 team that was Frost's year three. It's just that Rhule has the guts to not kick the can down the road with his friends like Frost did.

There's no momentum that you can sink your teeth into when you look at the 2026 schedule unless these new hires do something incredible. And one of those incredible things is also pulling in some star talent from the portal.

It's defcon 3 right now because of next year's schedule. Hopefully Geep really gives a s*** about the ask here.

I really hope Dylan stays. It’s not his fault his uncle wasn’t great at having an OL that could protect him. Plus I want to find out the answer to can Dylan now throw the Deep Fade with the protection of Geep Wade?
