I think it is natural because it just doesn't make sense to most fans. He was set up for success but for whatever reason didn't apply himself fully. It's easier to blame outside circumstances than it is to blame him just not giving 100% to the job. In retrospect it may be easier to understand... he really only committed to Nebraska after begging from the top level two different times. Once as a player and once as a coach. The first was a success because he was surrounded by greatness.I like how Nebraskans are genuinely fair and forgiving and uncomfortable trading in scurrilous gossip. But some of the rumors about Solich, Pelini, and Frost were true, and at the end of the day they had gone out and earned the criticism that led to their firing. I wouldn't reject the possibility that Frost was an arrogant d!(k, either. Some folks are searching for circumstances and other people to blame for his failure and I don't think we need to do that.
