Should we fire Satterfield??

Just pointing out that this is again a mentality that subtly suggests that there are only two options:

Last year we didn't really have a QB, at least not one that could keep turnovers to a minimum. This year, we're 5-3 where we beat a team that is currently ranked, and then the three losses came to teams that are currently ranked #4, #13, and #24.

In the loss to to Illinois (currently ranked #24) we put up quite a few yards and attacked in the end zone all game.

If he gets fired I won't be disappointed at all. I'm just saying that these last four games could technically go much better on offense.

Good points, but look at the trend.  The lone ranked team we beat...would we be favored on a neutral field if we played in two days?  I would bet we wouldn't win by 18, if we won.  Raiola doesn't look the same.  The team doesn't look better.  Are we going to blame this on us playing better comp?  What about the 0 we put on Purdue in 30 minutes of football? 

I have us at a ceiling of 1-3 over the next 4 with a coin flip for 0-4.  If we play like we did at OSU we beat UCLA, probably.  

It does scare me with as inept as OSU looked, and as good as we played, the moment we got a lead they marched down the field as if our D was playing 7 man ball.  As if we D'ed up against a team playing not to lose, they get down, opened the play book a bit, and marched down with no resistance.

I feel like you're discounting that great win with what you're saying there, but I do agree with this statement:

We have fallen off a bit.

But how can we not attribute part of this to the competition being better? Indiana has been on an absolute tear, and in no world did I think we had any chance at beating Ohio State. I was shocked at how close that game was.

I felt a little like that as well.  Almost like they were keeping the playbook closed to save for Penn State.  Glad we don't play anyone remotely as good as them the rest of the year- of course until the bowl game when we get to play Colorado again.  

I really like our chances Saturday, especially as one dimensional as UCLA has been and the weather forecast looking poor for the passing game.  I think our defense may outscore their offense.

Beyond that, I feel like we will play a lot looser after getting to 6 and we beat 1-2 of the last 3.

If we get to 8 wins, including a bowl win, it would a. have me surprised and excited going into next year and b. hopefully not stunt the changes we probably need to make at certain coaching positions to make our next leap

I agree. We got the lead and it was like Ohio State said ok enough playing around we will go score now and make it look easy. 
 

For the win vs Colorado I have a few opinions. I think they have improved and we have not it seems but it could just be competition in big 10. Also one piece to Colorado being on a winning streak is partly due to the fact the Big 12 is basically a G5 conference now. So all they gotta do is win and people want to get them ranked so the media can sell Deion

And I feel like possibly we over prepared for OSU at the expense of Indiana.  And we lost both of them. 

 
There can't be any stats showing that were actually not as bad on offense as some would believe...

I don't have an issue with where Raiola went on this throw but to act like there aren't short route options - outs and crossing patterns - is not an accurate assessment of the situation.


 
Layered outs and a crosser.  The routes are there, we just aren't throwing to them (either not open or choosing to go elsewhere).
