Your national health system is about to be put in a shredder. Orange Man Bad told America he was going to do this, and Americans elected him anyway.
And we use to worry about liberal big govt nanny state.   Of course, Trump himself said, he is going to help women even if they don't want it.  I guess that applies to the rest of us as well.

I disagree pretty big here.   It gave Trump the ability to say “ look they are out to get me with this frivolous fake case and they can do it to you too”. It allowed him to downplay the other cases and minority men who have been unfairly picked on could relate and then actually give him a look on other issues.
The issue with this take is that the individuals do believe the case was frivolous were already Trumpers. The number of people who found this to be relatable is extremely small and cannot account for major shifts.

Anyone want to venture a guess why the women for Kamala wave and it’s all about abortion for women didn’t take hold?   Hint….it’s much more about economy and immigration/safety for married women.
In fairness, I think 1.) Inflation/Economy accounts for 90% of the shift last night and can be applied to all demographics, not just women.

- All financial support for the Ukraine will instantly dry up, forcing them to the negotiating table where they will accept Russian terms.
... why is this a positive, in your view?

- Trump will back Israel, to the point where they can exist with a two state solution.
This demonstrates your lack of geopolitical knowledge you presumably get from right wing media sources. Neither Israel nor Palestinians want a two state solution. They rejected this 30 years ago. Trump isn't going to magically make this happen.

- The border will start to come under control, and criminals will be mass deported. Unfortunately make good people will also be deported.
Laws may be implemented to reduce border crossings, namely Asylum claims which I actually agree with. Certain deportation may increase like they did during the Obama administration, but Republicans aren't going to have the votes to implement widespread deportations.

To be clear, I personally want them to. Deporting millions of immigrants would cause economic damage that surpasses the 2008 financial collapse. America voted for it, so they deserve it.

- RFK will start to clean up the food and pharma industries.

increased domestic energy production, the cost of fuel and food will go down.
The United States is already producing more energy than any country in history. If you think oil production is going to go up significantly, you are wrong. You lack basic knowledge on global financial markets.

The Bretton Woods Agreement will be updated, giving BRICS some of what it wants to avoid the degradation of the Petrodollar.
Stay away from whatever news source you're reading.  The dollar is the world's reserve currency and won't be replaced because there is no alternative.

To the Democrats like Knapp and TGH, it is regrettable that you are so angry at the result of the election.
I truly hope that over time, you see that things don't get as bad as you expect.
I am not a democrat.  I'm an independent voter.  This was actually my first vote for a Dem presidential candidate.  I abstained or voted Libertarian the other 2x Trump was on the ballot.  I would have agreed with you to a small extent IF the Dems had retained the Senate and took the House.  Both are likely GOP controlled now and that will give Trump a blank check to do what he wants.  There is no one or no institution to checkmate him this time around.  Hopefully the military leaders will be a wall between trump and tyranny.

I'm not a Democrat. I used to be a Republican until they left sanity. I've been an Independent most of my adult life.

I truly hope things don't get as bad as expected. I'm just taking Orange Man Bad at his word for what he's going to do, and I see what will happen as a result of those actions.

This reserve currency scare goes back to least the Tea Party movement.  Connect it also to other conspiracy theories of the time like the NAFTA super highway from Mexico ports to the center of the country and the North American Union - the erasing of boarders between USA, Mexico and Canada.

If it helps, the typical stages we're going to experience because the average voter is extremely stupid will be as follows:

1) Vote for a new candidate because they're angry at something

2) New candidates party claims a "Mandate" from the public to institute policies the public voted for <-- We are here!

3) New party chooses its priorities to pass legislation. They will inevitably pass something that overreaches. How much policy they pass is determined by their majorities.

3B) Some policy is done at the institutional level where, again, the party will choose priorities.

4) The public will HATE the new policies they voted for, because they always do. Government sucks. I mean, I knew I voted for changes but I didn't think those changes would impact me. I AM NOW PISSED.

5) Mid term elections will happen. The public, hating the incumbent party, weakens their legislative majority and limits what they can accomplish during the second half of their term.

6) Parties set themselves up for the Presidential election during the second half of a Presidents term.

7) Repeat

Good list. Yes there is always a cycle in all of this and there always seems to be an overreach by the incoming party.

AKA: I voted for the Leopards Eating People's Faces Party, but I can't believe they ate my face!?!?!!
Absolutely, that joke exists for good reason.

Just for example, if the Republican Party uses their political capital to pursue mass deportations (I find this doubtful) but the number stories you'll read about that go something like: "Wife of Trump voting husband deported, he is in shock" will absolutely blow your mind.

My best guess is that Republicans are going to choose to use their political capital on regressive tax proposals and pursue their destruction of the administrative state via appointments, executive orders, and through the Courts. That's if they were smart.

If they are dumb, they'll actually pass a few of their proposals and the coalition that propelled them to victory last night will quickly crumble.

I want whatever's best for the country in the long term to be what happens. But what I mean by the country is the people in it who aren't a$$h@!es. I mean, a country can be successful by a lot of definitions where it only helps their leadership. I should probably start making that distinction now.

But the Trump presidency might be good for me at least in the short term, if there isn't a horrible depression. His tax plans will help me, I'm almost too old to get pregnant, and I'm White. He doesn't like Omaha though so... we'll see what happens there.

Long term, I don't really want to live in a world where drugs and food-born illness aren't monitored and regulated, and those are just a couple things I can think of out of ~5,000 other things I could think of going wrong.

As a White male landowner, likely I won't be impacted by his policies as much, either. But many of my friends will be, and I grieve for them.

This election will directly adversely affect people I love.

Ya, I thought of making a topic out of it yesterday, but I was thinking a lot yesterday (this was before the results started coming in) on whether people vote selfishly. I know the exact poster who will probably reply that everyone does, but that isn't true. If I voted selfishly, I still wouldn't vote for Trump because he isn't good for me in the long-term, but in general I don't vote selfishly. I vote morally. Usually the choices aren't great so there is no real moral choice, but I make the least bad moral choice.

Nonpartisan government officials aren't democrat cronies because they stand up to Trump. That is what they are there to do, be nonpartisan. But awesome Russia is gonna be cool again, we can all eat the real caviar with all that money Trump is going to put in our pockets.

If that's the real outcome then it was all worth it because I love caviar. But the Black Sea and Caspian Sea are really polluted I hear... apparently most caviar is farm caviar now. Can we get smoked salmon too. I want it daily for breakfast.
