I mean, if you really believe this...why don't you go do something about it?

1.  Invite people that are scared about being deported into your home and protect them.

2.  Track down ICE people and expose their identity, dox them.

3.  Physically attack ICE workers.  

Or...I guess posting is doing something too.

 
Since we are speaking of “interesting” things….one interesting thing is how illegals can come across the border, literally turn themselves in to Border Patrol as the Border Patrol sees this happening and it still takes years for the court process to return said illegals home many many times.  During that years long process, they get released into the interior and many many times we don’t hear from them again.   It’s also interesting how many illegals are in the country with active deportation orders but still roam around free without much a care in the world about being sent home

If we only would have had a bi partisan bill in congress that would have ear marked money to greatly increase both border patrols and the court system to handle them so they didn't have to wait years for court dates.

That would have been cool.

I can’t speak to hurt feelings thingy, but it would behoove you to look at other countries you think we should strive to be and see what they do to visa holders who actively protest against the government they are a guest in, or are a threat to public order.   If the visa holders want to protest and shut down parts of college campuses for other paying students…well bye.  
 

If this admin wants to grow a spine and cancel visas from the Chinese, a country of which is no friend of ours, or a student from Iran that s#!tposts about the US….well ok sounds good! 
 

If a student is here from a friendly country and is doing everything right and gets a student visa revoked for no good reason, that’s a problem.

Thanks for the suggestions, and I totally get why you would assume that I'm not doing anything about it since you don't know me and don't see my life outside of HB, but I feel good about what I'm currently doing about it.

It’s probably just as inconsistent as so many saying you are either for the law and due process or you are not…..and then say someone who has been living here with an active deportation order for 10 years who has a job and a family shouldn’t still be deported because it’s been 10 years and all is well.   Either follow the law and be for the deportation or be inconsistent.   Because those of some of the stories we are getting in the news that have people up in arms, while also screaming due process…just don’t follow it in those cases.  &nbsp

I don’t know about the validity of “stories in the news”.  And I’m not preoccupied or concerned with any people who may think somebody who has a deportation order should be allowed to stay because they’ve been here illegally for ten years (or any length of time). They’re wrong and I don’t agree with them, whoever “them” is.
 

I have to assume anyone with a legal deportation order has already got their due process and should be apprehended and deported. To the best of my knowledge that is not what the Trump administration is doing. It may be what they are claiming but there seem to be endless instances of them deporting people who did not receive due process, who don’t have deportation orders, who are being sent to foreign gulags and/or to countries they are not supposed to be sent to and, in some cases, actual US citizens that should not be experiencing any detainment or deportation at all.

As far as the dysfunctionality of our government and congress, well, what’s new. I don’t think that’s a good enough reason to turn into an autocracy that tramples people’s rights. Adopt legislation and fund enforcement that works and then follow the f#&%ing law. It’s not a hard concept.

Not sure how long you’ve been alive but yes, it has been particularly hard since the mid 90s or early 2000s. I’m sure I’ve been around longer than you and when I saw things really go south with dysfunction in our government was during Clinton’s term. The right turned on the left, albeit mildly, then the left on the right a little moreso with GWB and it’s just gotten worse with every President since. But Clinton was probably the last time congress seemed at least partially willing to work with the other side. It got extra bad during the Obama years and now it’s just a complete shìtshow.

It may be near impossible to pass any bipartisan legislation or actually fix anything but that shouldn’t be a free pass for any President du jour to do whatever the hell they want as Trump has been doing. And yes, it also shouldn’t have been allowed for Biden to not reasonably enforce immigration or the borders. He had a duty to prevent so many illegal entries and he failed. But at this point, for me, that is water under the bridge and a direct result of our divisions and the American voters being idiots and buying into the us vs them narrative that politicians thrive on. IMO, they’re all pieces of s#!t and they need to be term limited and have their cushy perks and better than the rest of us bulls#!t rescinded. But nobody should be above the law, least of all some addled brain con man grifter like Trump. The mere fact he was elected is evidence of how f#&%ed up this country is right now. The least we can do is prevent him from f#&%ing it up even further.

I’m starting to think we’re all being punked. This whole Trump clownshow administration had to be assembled to provide a real life realty show with the premise of “what would happen if every department of the government were led by the absolutely least qualified person?”

Head of FEMA- didn’t know there is a hurricane season.

Head of HHS- RFKjr…don’t need to explain this one.

President. VP. Homeland security. FBI. DOGE. Defense…. Go ahead and name one (1) competent person in this administration. I’m waiting….

We’re getting the day to day reality show in the news but I bet it’s all being videotaped behind the scenes with the ultimate reality television show to follow. I simply cannot buy that this incredible level of incompetence was assembled by accident.
