Who is the next coach?

This is hard to believe, since the NCAA is pushing a $23 million annual NIL cap.

Not surprising to me - some schools will prioritize basketball, we shouldn't be one of them. According to the numbers I could find, basketball made $38 million in revenue for Louisville, football was $34 million. Couldn't find actual costs/profits, but they had similar budgets and basketball made more. We will not be competitive at the top of the basketball market, and that's ok. Louisville won't be competitive at the top end of the football market, and they don't need to be.

I agree that we will not compete with them, but hopefully we put more into our basketball NIL

This is why the NCAA is worthless.  The whole world saw the landscape was changing.  Instead of leading, the NCAA shoved their head so far up their butt, they imploded.

Schools should just make athletes employees and let the kids handle their own endorsements or hire an agent to do it.

As for football, let’s get rid of conference alignments and move to tiered divisions. If Kansas wants to invest heavily in basketball over football, let them. If Vanderbilt prioritizes baseball, so be it.

I come from a football and track background, and I hate what’s happening in track. Roster limits are being cut to 45, with many of those spots going to international athletes. But I get it—the landscape is changing. Some kids are becoming millionaires, while others are being left behind.

Hence why I said limited minutes. 7’ guy you put in to snag a few boards, big body to challenge the big guys on the other team. But he can’t score so hence limited minutes. Decent option to give good big man a breather
He's terrible.  He's terrible if he starts.  He's terrible of the bench.  He's terrible if he's shot from a cannon like a circus.  It doesn't matter what the circumstances are.  He's terrible.

I don't know how anyone can watch Drake play in the tournament, with 4 DII transfers, and be satisfied with the product Nebraska puts on the court.
There are plenty of quality players out there…drake is a great example.  I don’t think it’s about us spending the most…more about getting the most out of what we spend.  We fell way short this season.  Needs to be better next season

How about coaching?  Something so many in this forum want to ignore.
i don’t know who is ignoring poor coaching here…we under performed this year, in almost every area. Everyone knows that.  That’s on players and coaches.  That’s on recruiting, portal guys, in season development, game planning, on court performance, etc…

If you are suggesting that Fred hoiberg is not a good basketball coach then there is no reason to keep the chat ongoing…idk.

He’s an amazing coach.  The universal measure, record, proves it.

There is no cap on NIL, that cap is for revenue sharing. NIL is still hypothetically unlimited as long as it passes the vague standards of the clearinghouse, which schools (by way of their collectives) will continuously find creative loopholes for.
