All I am saying is that some fans take it way too far. personally attacking coaches or players and accusing of affairs, being alcoholics etc is way beyond being a fan. those comments do not make the program better. these forums are a place to debate wins, losses, game plans and plays called. everyone of the coaches and players that we have had in the past or have now are trying their best. they make mistakes but they don't deserve personal insults. If I am a recruit that would effect me.

If you were a recruit and you read many of the posts on this board and others would it effect your desire to commit to Neb?

I lost interest years ago. Now I really only enjoy the forums for the entertainment value and the discussions. I don't believe for a minute that the media and the collective fanbase will give Frost or anyone 4 years let alone 10 years Based on the money spent over 20 years and the results on the field, I think Neb MAY have been better off keeping Solich. Yes Ohio is a lower conf but you still have to find and develop talent. He has been successful there and he was winning 9 games here and wasn't an embarrassment until the very end, which may have been created by the media pressures.

Bo was supposed to bring this program back to national prominence but he was fired bc he only won 9 games a year and he was an A**hole. Now the fanbase thinks SF will be the second coming of Tom Osborne. What if Neb gets SF at 5 mill a year for 7 years and 3 years in we haven't won a Nat title or Big ten title? will the fans turn on him also? how may years are you willing to give SF? If you get him and then run him off, Neb will become a career killer and good luck getting anyone next time around.

When everyone wanted Bohl's head, he was 1 year off having a defense that was in the top 10 in most defensive categories. I agree Solich was bad, not b/c of his coaching but b/c he couldnt look you straight in the eye and recruit. Recruiting is key and we are doing that. Ball St game was terrible, but you have to hit bottom to rise to the top. Maybe this was it.

Why is it that everyone on this board is an expert? If you are all such great coaches, get a job or submit your resume to Cally. Everyone trashes the coaches, yet i doubt if any of us could do better. Everyone hated Solich and Bohl, yet they and their staffs have put together pretty good programs where they are now. Were they stupid but became educated? No, it just wasnt their time. I agree that some schools are not a good fit for certain people, but all current Big Red Fans have to realize that the NCAA wanted parody and they have it. Okla was great, sucked and now good again, same for USC, and Penn St. Notre Dame was consistantly good, now terrible. Do you really think Weis got stupid overnight? The best thing for Nebraska football is for the fans to support the teams win or lose. No kid will come here to be booed by the fans. Nebraska fans owe the coaches and players an apology.
