Husker QB - TJ Lateef

There were definitely some passes on Saturday that Dylan probably would have completed and TJ wasn't anywhere close.
True.

However, if TJ Lateef was a true sophomore and had 21 consecutive starts like DR, he likely would be a more polished QB for sure. Might even be a lot better than the 2 1/2 game stretch so far. That would be my comparison.

I also think he would light-it-up in the Big 12 conference (playing for ASU, Utah, Cincy, Houston, TCU, K-State etc...).

I am late to the conversation but I feel as if it too early to make any type of judgement on TJ. USC was not a true measurement. UCLA has one of the worst defenses in the Big 10, warm weather, homecoming for him. Penn State is loaded with All-Americans, motivated for bowl chances and their coach. Against Penn State, he scored on a run that there is absolutely no way DR scores. He rolls out of a sack, scrambles left and scores. DR takes a sack for sure. TJ missed a number of throws in that game that DR would definitely complete. I thought Dana called the game like he was working with a freshman. Some of TJ's misses came late, when PSU was just pinning their ears back and attacking. DR is still our #1, until TJ can prove that he can be consistent against decent competition. Not sure that Iowa will provide the answer either. It will also come down to "what" type of Dana would like within his offense. So many people that called into the post game shows referred to TJ as a mobile/running QB. Mobile, YES, but he is not a dual threat. He can use his legs to escape and extend and to possibly carry on a zone 4-5 times/game. Just enough to keep the defense guessing, helping our RB. He is a passer first and foremost. This is what MR has said and his HS scouting reports say. People who think that he is going to run for 60+ yards a game are fooling themselves. TJ may absolutely be the man, and I am excited about his skill set, but way too small of a sample size for anyone to say he is better than DR, although he may ultimately be.

Can we please stop the debate on who is the better QB now?

We need Raiola back next year.
TJ ain't it. As many balls as he's sailed the last 2 games I don't even think we should keep him around next season. Not worth the money for the lack of production. People saying he's better than Dylan are ignoramuses.
