New Oline coach Geep Wade

I think Rhule wasted his two program builder years not rebuilding the offensive line. Just my opinion, but the offensive line should be the first thing you fix when rebuilding a team.
I don't think it was as bad as you think it was. The few years prior to Rhule about every other play we had multiple O-linemen with their backs to the line of scrimmage after the play started. RB's couldn't make it out of the backfield without having to break a tackle. They blocked well enough to get a RB well past 1k. Last year the backs had absolutely no vision and couldn't read a block if it was written in crayon at a first grade level.

Interview with Geep Wade from Sports Nightly last night.

Kinda interesting that he's got an OL coaching resume stretching back over 20 years, but he said it was only when he was at App State in 2022 that he really started to develop his current approach to recruiting guys and deciding which guys to target.

"It's hard to teach a guy to snap the football." Cam Jurgens says hi.

Just realize that Cam Jurgens is an elite athlete. He may be referring to a normal guy. I have tried to convert guys over in the past. It can be hard to develop a great center. A lot is coming at you.

Cam Jurgens is an absolute freak, but if memory serves me correctly, didn't he struggle with his snaps for a year or so?

It also took him a decent number of games to get the snaps dialed in, and there were fans still claiming he still had snap issues when he declared for the draft.

It's an interesting strategy, I feel like the argument the other way is most high schools aren't putting their best athletes at Center. So you focus on the athleticism/blocking ability first and teach the position-specific skills as needed. But he's the expert, and it's not like high school centers are exclusively lower end prospects. Just maybe limits the pool you're picking from.

This just makes me think back to Dave Remington. That guy was a beast! He was off the ball so fast, that opposing coaches wanted him called for offside.
