  1. I care. He is not just someone to use up and throw away. Glad you're so in love with the Golden Boy. He is a good athlete and has had a good year. I and many others are concerned with the way Glenn has been treated, however, whether or not you agree with it is not important to me. And Lucky is THE MAN, as you put it, because the coaches have cottled him all the way through and we all know he is Callahan's choice.
  2. What's up with Glenn not playing???? Does Jordan just not care for him??? Jordan made comments about every back except Glenn at the "Big Red Breakfast"-------kinda like he doesn't exist anymore. Kinda strange, leading scorer last year, never given a chance this year? Still injured? What the............?????
  3. Castille is a very tough, talented young RB who has given the Huskers a shot of adrenalin at times, BUT..... If he doesn't learn to protect the ball better or comes up injured, coaches Jordan and Callahan will put him on the "back burner" and he'll be just another "afterthought RB". Remember the way many Husker fans loved Cody Glenn's tough running and attitude with the ball the past 2 years? Glenn, a junior, now has two freshmen playing ahead of him and was even relegated to scout team duties this past week. Yes, it is true that Cody has had some nagging injuries, but he still wants to contribute to help this team WIN. It must be really tough on these young men, knowing that coaches make decisions without any regard or concern for the PLAYER. It has to be embarrassing to know that your staff has lost the kids' confidence and your coaches don't CARE to try to motivate them. I know that the scholarship alone should be enough motivation for most young guys, but some support and encouragement from their coaches would do wonders. I'm not saying "cottle" them, just help them succeed as a person when times get rough. I hope the way Glenn has been treated doesn't hurt Nebraska's future recruiting in the state of Texas, because coaches in Texas high schools don't turn a deaf ear to kids being mishandled. Point to ponder: You Reap what You Sow. By the way, how good would it be to see Castille, Glenn, and Lucky on the field at the same time??? Seems Marlon has great hands and vision in the open field and I believe he would be an awesome slot receiver, while the other two could hammer snot bubbles out of opposing defenses.
  4. Castille does not have better speed, I can assure you that.
  5. Castille plays basically the same role that Cody has played the past two years. In what perceived way does he "bring more to the table" than Glenn? (outside of the fact that he has been injured alot)
  6. I never even see his name mentioned anymore when backs are mentioned...........just wondering......has he become a victim of all the coaching fallout? opinions please
  7. I don't understand the staff's decision NOT to play the C-Train vs. Wake. I know that Cody is not one to be happy watching a game from the sidelines. I do, however realize that they probably feel obligated to their "stud" 5'6" RB because he knows the system. There are many, many universities that would love to have Cody's talent and would make him a big part of their game, but as a freshman he'll just have to wait until the opportunity arises and when it occurs, we'll see how he does. I still have not seen a back sent on the field that can do what he does. I do know that I'll spend a lot more time watching the Longhorns instead of the Huskers if he isn't given a chance to play soon, esp. when the coach said that he would see some PT. You have to have some integrity to do what you say you will when dealing with young people.....Just my take on the situation. Otherwise, nice win for the Huskers and good job defensing WF, blackshirts.
  8. Why was it that Coach Callahan was quoted as saying "all four will see playing time" when referring to his stable of backs? IMO, Cody Glenn far outshines the rest of these backs, simply because he will get the ball in the end zone and will not run up the backside of his linemen. And yes, by the way, I have seen Cody carry the ball EVERY DAY for the past six years, usually dragging five or six defenders with him, so I know what I'm talking about. "He's a MANCHILD!"----The coaches will eventually figure it out...Give 'em time.
