I loved how they said after the MSU loss where rebounding and shooting sucked, Williams didn't key on the shooting in practice.  She keyed on rebounding and working hard.  She knows she has good shooters. If they improve on rebounding and hustle, the shooting will take care of itself.

They outrebounded them 42-34 and shot .517 including .400 from 3.

Sounds like a teachable moment for Fred.....

No, according to him, we should be ecstatic over an all SEC final because there is no way any team is ever better than even the second place SEC team and now the world gets the greatest show the world has ever seen in college football.

Finebaum disproves the old adage that you can't be dumber than you look...

If a guy who is supposed to be a shooter makes free throws, we win this in regulation.

And he actually held on to the ball when he was trapped, because he wanted to be the one to shoot the free throws; if he passes out of the trap, I like our chances with some other shooters at the line (although McGowan did keep us from winning the North Carolina State game in the same situation)

Down 14-20 after 1. Not shooting well.

thry have their work cut out for them.

it helps that their best player is in foul trouble and they gave a short bench.

Poorest shooting percentage of the season and lack of rebounding not a good mix...

  5. Starting to look like (much as the fooball Huskers had early advantages with weights, prop 48, TV appearances, etc. under T.O.);  Fred gained early advantages with his (then) bold use of transfers, Jucos, etc. to foster a coaching reputation. Now, with the advent of the portal, and get- out- of -jail-free cards to facilitate player movement, those advantages are neutralized. When everyone has the same opportunities, so far, Fred has failed to measure up.

IMHO, the fastest way to improve our record is to improve ST play.  No new scheme, techniques, portal transfer guys etc.....Just hold the guys on the roster accountable.  Don't use ST as a way to reward walk-ons and guys down the depth chart playing time.  Just have the guys on the roster pull their heads out of their a$$es.  How many more games (or jobs) does our lack of ST attention have to cost.

The elephant in the room is........If Busch is the ST guy, why the hesitation in announcing it? He is already on campus and recruiting. That delay would seem to suggest that HCSF has not yet fully committed to a dedicated ST position (and I understand the myriad possibilities in combining job titles with the 9 coach limit.  I'm guessing that he will eventually LIST himself as the titular running backs coach and let interns and (to the extent allowable) analysts to the details.  All of this  could change if other staff defections occur. None of this is new information, but seems like a plausible summary at this point.

It's not just the distance on the shots, it's the heavier contest of the shot and off rhythm frequency.  We have loads of problems on offense and it's not on the players, entirely.  It's been this way since the beginning with this regime.

Defensively, our rotations have been piss poor all year too.  Communication is lousy and we don't seem to have any answer for a team that moves the ball at a medium pace, or faster.

Also assist passes (when they occur) are usually thrown slow, low, or high, or off to the side, not allowing a rhythmic catch, jump and shoot sequence.

Thought I saw where he was leaving the Bears this week.  So, I would assume immediately.

Or, isn't there some kind of test or clearing with the NCAA a new college coach has to go through to be able to recruit?  If I remember right, that goes pretty fast.

Thanks, I wondered if he needed to finish out his season/contract with the Bears..............

The feeling I can’t shake is this. The rationale for not having an OC announced yet is that he must still be involved in a meaningful game this weekend. So I’m left wondering why, other than possibly a boatload of money, would any coach from a winning program want to relocate to this dumpster fire. No, my hopes aren’t high. Yes, I’m expecting another “Mike Riley who” moment.

This whole deal should’ve got headed in a new, hopeful direction about a week ago but instead we’re going to have another year, again, of s#!t. I really think Trev screwed up his first and best chance.

The opposite potential benefit is that if Trev fired Frost weeks ago, we would now be competing with 20 or so other programs for a new head coach; and not looking so competitive in that pool.  IF the Trev/Frost 1 year experiment flames out, the odds are more favorable that the number of comparable P5 openings next year "might" be less hostile then.

I was optimistic with the 7, but I didn't really look at the schedule. Forgot we have Auburn too instead of another buy game.

To get to 7 beat Kennesaw, Rutgers twice, PSU, Minnesota, I guess KSt and an upset.

Rutgers twice, Penn State, and Minnesota only get you to four... the Vegas line of 7 1/2 is for CONFERENCE GAMES ONLY.

This is where I’m at. In that 9-11 range.

If our shooters could catch fire to help out BM, it could get fun to watch.

Last week the sharks in Vegas had it over/under conference Wins at 7 1/2

Three to four weeks of practice doesn't exactly make you smooth at it. Besides, are the same backs he got those 4 weeks with the same ones starting? Hell I've been "practicing" the guitar for years and I'm no where close to EVH lol.

To be clear, It's obviously not ideal. I'm just pointing out that because of Adrian's history and multiple season long injuries,  it's not as dire as it otherwise might be.

    Just looking for something positive.

And good luck with that guitar....

Option with a QB that hasn't started all year and hasn't worked with the backs on timing for the pitch. Might be a recipe for disaster with only 5 real practice days.

On the contrary, he's had quite a bit of reps with the number 1's the last three or four weeks as Martinez has rarely practiced because of injury.
