He's come a long way since arriving to Lincoln as a freshmen.  Never gave up, kept shooting, had a good run last year.  And it's a super honor to play for your Country.  I wish him the best - if he doesn't play in the NBA, he can always enjoy playing professionally in the EuroLeague, which is not too shabby.

Not to be picky, but I believe he arrived not as a freshman,  but after a stint in Jr. College...maybe 2  years?; but agree with the rest. Also, one might argue that Fred either didn't trust him/or believe in him enough to give him substantial playing time early and it's speculation on all of us as to whether or not that is partially Fred's fault or he really just wasn't ready. Regardless, I'm glad he's back and he will be a positive and marketable storyline throughout the season.

Pretty sure I heard Matt Rhule say at the end that he couldn’t hear the questions.   We can’t either Matt, we can’t either.

USC and/or UCLA vs. Rutgers and/or Terps.  Need to unretire Concorde plane ;).

If 3-6-6 model, then NU could be Iowa, Badgers and UCLA in protected rivals.

Or Minny in lieu of Badgers

He has to do something other than just facilitate the offense otherwise there is no reason to guard him.  Most teams just ignored him on the offensive end of the floor because they knew he wasn't much of a threat for all three years at Iowa.  I'm not saying he has to score 15 points per game, but he has to be some kind of threat or we will essentially be playing 4 on 5 on the offensive end of the floor.

    Agree with that

Based on what I saw if Iowa last year, I'm not sure if he's better than the options we already had.  Maybe better ball security but he doesn't seem to drive to the hoop or shoot 3's.  He started, but only played 22.5 min/game.  If we are only expecting 20-ish minutes/game, then OK.  If we are expecting him to put in starter minutes (at least 30), then I don't see it.

It's not a must that he shoots threes and drives. I will be happy if he facilitates the offense, gets the ball to the right people, and doesn't turn it over! Theoretically we have other shooters, especially if Tomanaga comes back; but Fred has never had a true point guard in his Husker tenure.

    Guys in the mix

    Josiah Allick

    Hunter Sallis

    Latrell Wrightsell

    Brady Dunlap

Would like another BIG  (if the scuttlebutt about Keita's lingering ankle has any merit).
