Huskers trying to overcome the refs and pull within 4. Go find a W vs Whisky.

The Big ten once again protecting the highest seeded team. They aren't going to let the Huskers win.

There seems to be a concerted effort to recruit O linemen. Most within the 500 mile radius too.

It was so much fun to see the Huskers play so well! It's been a long time coming. Good on Fred, the coaches and the team for not mailing it in.
-
We were outmanned as we are in nearly all Big Ten games. The Huskers didn't quit. If we had another three point shooter beside Wilcher it would help open up the lane for the drive.

F'n Bohannon gets tapped on the side of the head then 2 seconds later falls down grabbing his eyes.....and gets the foul called.

Why does Lat Mayen play?
We have too many players with NO basketball sense. No awareness when a ball is tipped and on the floor, no willingness to get on the floor for a lose ball, no desire to box out.

The new coaches are lining up their QBs. Harburg, Smothers and Torres better start looking around and get their bags packed.

There are reasons that coaches should not have relationships with players and I'm betting it is part of a code of conduct that is part of their contract. Coaches determine playing time and when a player needs to be taken out of a game. If that judgement is skewered by the coaches feelings for one of the players then his loyalty to his head coach, the university and the other players is in question.

If it's not football or anything to do with Ohio St then it is ignored.

When it rains it pours. How many opponents this year have shot a deep three at the end of the shot clock, had it hit hard off the backboard and go into the net? This is ridiculous.

Minnesota’s coach was more than gracious in his post game. The Gophers aren’t the most talented team but they rarely turn the ball over. He complimented our defense and all phases of our game for taking them out of their game plan.

I’m assuming this goes here…
This kid looks like a pancake maker. A couple years on the weights and he should be ready for the Big Ten. For a kid who only played football one year he did well.

I have never gone by brand name. Always by fit, comfort and function. I have found Adidas fits my feet better than any other brand. I also haven't bought any apparel for the purpose of displaying a "brand" in 30 years.

Remember how badly Mich beat us last time. We had no will, no effort and no expectation of beating them 6 weeks ago. Tonight was different story on most fronts (we still don't have an answer for any decent big). We still have warts but this was a better effort.

And that’s fine. Time to operate like a big boy program. Fisher said it best. We’re trying to bring in someone better than you every year.
I agree fully. The days of waiting 4 or 5 years for a high school athlete to mature and blossom are nearly over. Nowadays the thinking is find a guy with one or two years left and plug them in.

I fully admit I could be way too close to the sun here and my perspective is colored by seeing Genatone on the wrestling mat (where I'm always going to biased towards wrestlers) and on the track. Dude is just a flat out stud athlete, top 1 or 2 in the state easily. The good news is we get to see how this plays out and if Genatone turns out to be the 2nd coming, he'll have opportunities to transfer.
In the words of every Star Wars character “I have a bad feeling about this!” Vince G is one of those hard nosed players every team needs. Very smart and athletic and unfortunately going to Montana not Nebraska.

I’m thinking with all the D backs we brought in that some of our current roster will find their way to the exit door. We brought in four already and maybe one more on the way.

Probably ok if you're an SEC team
After the Supreme Court told the NCAA hands off on players benefiting from NIL it seems to be the wild wild west for college sports in general and football in particular. What got SMU on the death list is now the way of the football world. There will be an even bigger divide between the haves and the have nots in the next few years. Hopefully there is enough money in the coffers for the Huskers to rent a few O and D linemen.

I have said this before here but it speaks to the reality of college football. It was either the first or second year of the Frost Era. The S and C coach was quoted as saying to the group of kids in for weight lifting. He said “ It’s my job to make you a stronger better football player but it’s the coaches job to recruit over you.” We have seen that happen in the last month. New coaches and better recruiters with a sense of urgency have found arguably better players than we had. Now it’s up to last years players to learn the new playbook, get stronger and faster and show they are serious about competing.

But don't you know that all of our offensive issues were on Adrian Martinez?! We still gained 450 ypg solely because of the OL and not because we had an escape artist at QB...
Not sure if you are tongue in cheek here since I didn’t see a “sarcasm “ emoji. AM gained a lot of yards on his own but it seemed we had issues many times getting the running backs positive yards in the red zone. I’m hoping that improves.

7. Less QB designed runs
8. An O line that can be serviceable for 100 yards and not just 60 or 70 yards.

If we add another DB to the team I think it’s safe to say that several if not more of our current DBs will transfer. It’s a good coaches job to recruit over current players. There can be no waiting in the que for your right to play.

With all these portal transfers it looks like we are trying to Michigan St our way into the top twenty. Fine with me.
