I was feeling really good at halftime. I'm not sure what Fred will do to get this team to play 40 minutes of solid basketball. I actually worry about his health if this season goes south.

Does Nebraska have even one player that can keep anyone from driving to the basket? How many times did a Husker play off of a Bluejay and watch him drive to the basket? We lost our composure and decided to get into a run and gun game when we aren't built that way. A team can't quit playing defense and get back into a game.

I don't believe in curses, I believe we made this s#!tty bed that we have to sleep in every night.
HOWEVER, if there was an event that started the curse, it isnt Solich firing. Its the god damn flea kicker catch between frosty and davidson against missouri in 97. While we won the title that year, that play zapped every single source of good luck/good will out of progrum for good in order to make that happen and keep the 97 season alive. Its the only way to explain the title that never was in 99 and the decline from elite that we witnessed beginning in the last month of 2001.
Everyone knows curses abide by Newton's 3rd law of physics. A curse this vicious couldve only been born by something magnificent and extraordinary- that fateful evening in columbia in 97 cursed us all to this day
One would think that 26 years should be sufficient to pay the price for that 97 championship. It's time to get back on top!

Sounds like the Minnesota Rodents took the last of the bowl bids with their 5-7 record.

Westside in unreal.
They gave up six points total in the playoffs. And that was against Prep in the first round.
I had to laugh at their coach telling the reporter at halftime that his team didn't play their best.

Unless we are playing OSU or Michigan we tend to get the bottom of the barrel when it comes to referee crews.

Because the way MSU's defense was playing, we had guys running wide open all over the field. The running game struggled more than some people probably care to admit/remember because of the loaded box. If Haarberg were even a mediocre QB today instead of a FREAKING ABORTION, Nebraska probably wins by 10+.
It's easy to be insulting to a player who probably won't read this statement. I wonder if you would call HH a "freaking abortion" to his face?

1. Ohio st 2011.. yes I stayed.2. Colorado 2008
3. Oklahoma 2009
4. NW Hail Mary game
Honorable mention:
Texas 2006…didn’t go the way it should have. It had all the makings tho. Snow started to fall as it was looking like we were going to take it. Still resent Nunn a little for that one
I was at that Texas game and yes if Nunn had caught that ball the game was over.

He made a few coins in the sale of his show a few years ago. Still he knows the WNBA would never take him up on his offer so his show gets great coverage.

The picture I saw of the "sprain" looked a lot worse than a sprain. It looked like the bottom of his shoe was perpendicular to the floor. If he needs surgery his season is done.

Texas Tech didn't seem to have an answer for him. One would think after 3 or 4 TD's they might want to take notice. Avery reminds me a little of a young Taylor Martinez and the impact he had those first two years.

I don’t really buy this bc we had problems w false starts before this game.Yes we have had problems in the past. This year has been much cleaner. Watching the game last night the movement I saw in the O line wasn't the raise up and step back movement I usually see. Rather it was lifting their head to hear the new play call while the defense points out the movement to the refs. Like most Big Ten crews these officials were clueless as they threw the flag.

Our coaches absolutely have to dig deep to eliminate the false starts. Figure out where the root cause is, whatever it might be.
I will say, Satterfield dialed up the jet sweep to Kemp on a couple plays where we needed it so badly. There's good stuff happening, but we still look like we're playing so scared to fail on offense.
Scattered thoughts here obviously...but again, just so criminal to not get the ball to Fidone more. The guy is truly a freak of nature out there. His ceiling is extremely high.
Listen to what Rhule said about the Illinois players yelling the same calls we use for the O linemen and causing them to lift up to hear the new call. Thats what he was talking to the refs about in the 4th qtr. Not saying our O line are world beaters but this isn't all on them.

three, four, five....... all seven.
There is not a game left on the schedule that strikes fear in the hearts of anyone. Nebraska could win them all. Nebraska could lose them all since we get in our own way. I am seeing a run here that could take us all the way to 9-3 and a pretty decent bowl. Got to agree with ... TonyStalloni ... Now is the time to strike and get this done. With the additions to the BIG, it's going to be harder, and we need momentum.
None of the seven remaining teams we play are ranked in the Top Twenty five. However Maryland is 5-0 and hasn't had a close game. Our last three games, Maryland, Wisconsin and Iowa are winnable. Somewhere this team needs to discover how good it feels to win consistently.

Winning four in a row is possible and would do wonders for this team, this staff and the fans. We need to take advantage of this schedule. The coming years will be a juggernaut with the four Pac 12 schools joining us. We'll see how this team responds to the beat down that happened saturday.

These injuries suck big time but at least Grant is a veteran player who I like when he is in the game personally. Has some shiftiness and also isn't afraid to lower his shoulder.
There will be no more lowering the shoulders or we could be playing two freshmen!

True, but Minn's qb made a garbage pass that his wr had to make an outstanding catch to bring-in. Maybe from 5yds back it's not a completion at all.
Our D had been pushing them to 3rd down most of the 2nd half which means we stopped them two out of three times or three out of four in this series. The odds say we get a stop if they do it over.
-
But they can see our left guard wiggle before the snap at the other end of the field earlier. Must have been better lighting at that end.

Losing yet another game while being up by a touchdown with less than 3 minutes to go has convinced me that we need a full-time psychologist on staff to try and understand what goes in these players minds. We had three chances to put the game away and we just gave it to Minnesota. Fear of success has been a scary issue with husker football over the past decade. 2-14 in one score games…you just can’t make this stuff up. If we ever crawl back to relevance, it is a Hollywood movie right there. Right now, it is a horror show.
The sad thing is I truly felt that we had this game in the bag and that this game would be a turning point. Joke on me.
Dr. Brett Haskell (Univ of Nebr full time sports psychologist) says hi.

Just a thought. At the end of the sports season this fall, Trev Alberts becomes university President, John Cook the new Athletic Director and Jordan Larson becomes the new volleyball coach. We get a university President that understands the value of sports to the state and supports the coaches. An Athletic Director who gets along well with all the coaches and has the foresight to understand the changes in college sports and a legacy player to to take the reins of the volleyball program. I'm not saying this will happen but with our current president leaving to go to Ohio St and the Ohio State AD retiring in June I could see him offering Trev Alberts a pot full of money to join him there and this could be a way to keep Trev in Nebraska and open the door for John Cook to step into the AD role here.
