  1. Actually, Taylor's completion percentage is in the mid 50's. At around the middle mark of the season, I saw some stats where he actually has a higher career completion rate than Frazier, Frost, and Crouch. Maybe you were being sarcastic about the 50% thing, not sure. Like it or not, we're recruiting QB's for their legs first, arm second. You can see that in Carnes and verbal commit Tommy Armstrong.
  2. Totally agree. But on the other side of the coin, here's a petition from you: Don't lump all of the "new posters" together. We from the other board know who the diseases are, but have been asked by your mods to not bring any of that up here, and I'm respecting that. I had an intelligent dialogue with Badgerfan, as you can clearly see above. I will be equally pissed to be lumped in with certain other new posters...not to name names...*cough*
  3. This^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ If ever there were a stat to make a PSU fan hang their head in shame...this would be it. No wait - the score in their game against Illinois is even more pathetic. I predict a record number of Joe Pa depends soilings in the first half alone.
  4. This makes more sense. I can see that perspective. For myself personally, I guess what I meant by the "having football not be about football is just mind boggling" comment is that the result on the field is practically the only thing that matters. Even when being at the games, for me personally even just the atmosphere of being inside the stadium with 82,000 other fellow Husker fans and the environment is practically peripheral to the actual result at the end of the game. It might sound ridiculous...but it's just the result of having grown up in the 90's and having the "tradition" be mainly about winning itself. But your comment sheds light on the atmosphere in Madison - and it's understandable. You're good people, Badgerfan. Sorry for the semi-hijacking of the thread. I do enjoy being in the Big 10 and getting to play other great teams.
  5. I remember as a student, the 2003 loss on senior day to K-State was pretty devastating. The loss to them in the "twist Eric Crouch's Head all the way around" game was pretty painful, too. I sort of have a thing for (against) K-State.
  6. You'll probably try to scold me and call this out as "trash talk," but seriously...just another example of the vast chasm of differences between a program that has won multiple national championships (at least in the fairly recent era) and one that hasn't. Anyone can find any excuse to party. Any time. Anywhere. Having football not be about football is just mind boggling.
  7. Agreed. I know that it's hard to gauge where a team is now by what they did earlier in the season...but their 10-14 win over Temple and the 10-7 win over Illinois is just pathetic. Absolutely pathetic. They couldn't even buy a quarterback at this point. Their team over all vs. our overall team speed = bad news for the Nittany Lions.
  8. We'd play the Chocolate Unicorn Elves in the Jujubes Fruity Candy Ass Bowl in Never Never Land. Speaking of which...this looks like a good segue point for this. It's from 2007, but it's a timeless classic: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ipViuTlXr2o
  9. This^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ It's really, really annoying...but it's the truth. You generally have to have the long, highlight reel type runs. Although Mark Ingram might have been the exception to that, which is promising for Burkhead next year. But as was also mentioned, we have to be in serious contention for something decent title-wise, national or conference, as stupid as it is. Next year could bring that. Would be great if they could just vote for the "best player" without all of the other baggage.
  10. Hahahahaha...this just really brought the lulz. So true. But seriously: you have no idea what some of these trolls are capable of that have already posted in this thread alone. I realize that the mods on this forum want to have an "innocent until proven guilty" protocol...but all I can say is, be prepared for some record-breaking implosions. I would even suggest the purchase of protective eyewear.
  11. I'm checking in for my first post here, as well. I'll answer for myself - I have no idea wtf the deal is with any of that. I have no idea who David Max is, what the dispute is, and couldn't possibly care less about any of it. I made my account on there back in December of 2010 (as the first time I'd ever been a part of a Husker forum - lifetime fan, first time internet Husker poster ) and then about a week ago a large hand full of asshats come out of nowhere with apparently one single m.o. of just spamming the place into oblivion. It was a display of colossal phaggotry. And I realize nobody on this forum gives a flying sack about any of that...but I just wanted to vent. I'm in for solid, intelligent, and occasionally entertaining Husker talk here. Glad I found a new home and glad to be a part of this forum.
