  1. Sometimes I look at Ron Paul and admire for him for sticking to his guns...and then I realize that his sticking to his guns is just plain crazy sometimes and I truly consider myself a libertarian (small "l"). He goes out of his way to prove that he is not now and will never be in that "middle ground" that all of us are actually in. He's like the crazy uncle that shows up sometimes at Thanksgiving. Let him partake of the meal, but do not leave him alone with any impressionable members of the family.
  2. Oh...just living the high life in the land of the bland and the home of the chrome. It's supposed to snow here tonight in Bellevue...happens every year about this time. Had a nice wine with cheese and fruit for dinner - got to get in shape for snow shoveling and mud-slinging. Hows by you?
  3. So...telling the teacher is your method of winning arguments? Stick to your 15 page threads arguing the existence of God and leave political humor, sarcasm, and satire to the rest of us.
  4. It's human nature... they will all include bias. And I'll take Maddow's opinions, they are based in reality and backed by facts. yeah right you keep thinking that, WOW!! I have watched her and Oberman and they slant the little bit of truth they uncover so much that it is like a propaganda show for the liberal progressives!! That Maddow guy is about 50% truth. Check her out at www.politifact.com
  5. Not really sure that has any bearing on the situation. Oh, I think beating a disabled person is somehow worse.
  6. Your math is not too good. I'll help you out. Over 2,000 guns were bought by "straw buyers" under the Fast and Furious program and ATF agents lost track of about 1,400 of them. As of last month, 276 of those same 2,000 guns have been recovered in Mexico and 389 recovered in the United States. One U.S. border agent has been killed by one of those guns...countless Mexican citizens (drug dealers as well as innocent bystanders) are also dead. But, who cares. The AG? Not so much. He blames Congress. I blame GW, JoPa, Bill Callahan, Bibi Netanyahu, Noam Chomsky, Eli Wallach, The Man with No Name, Arnold Stang, and Oprah. And I accept some of the blame too,
  7. I dare anyone to watch this video of Eric Holder testifying before Congress without laughing out loud. What's so funny? 1. He says he wants to know how all those guns made it across the border into Mexico. He should ask his underlings since they were responsible. 2. He needs Congress's help in stopping the flow of guns across the border into Mexico and supporting law enforcement. I assume he's talking about the agent who was killed with the gun that was sent over the border. Wouldn't it be easier for AG Holder to just call the head of ATF and tell him to stop that crap? Or maybe mention it at a staff meeting? 3. He says Congress has kept him in the dark. Sorry, but that dog won't hunt.
  8. Hey, when I went to the last National Restaurants Association convention, I had to pay extra for that! And I was on time.
  9. Plus - who put the "ram" in "rama lama ding dong"?
  10. I am assuming that when the operation went down, NSA and everyone in the region had collection platforms/systems turned on to collect any and all comms even remotely related to the killing of bin Laden. If I remember correctly, the friendlies collected all of the cell/satellite phones as well as computers - leaving the survivors in the compound with limited means to communicate. I suspect that the Pakistani ISI was the prime collection objective since we were trying to determine their role in their guests' ability to remain hidden for several years. While it would have been better to hold off on the victory dance, I am amazed and proud that we were able to keep the operation a secret until it was over. COMSEC and OPSEC at the very highest level... This. I think a lot of people would be amazed at the type of information the NSA and it's assets can retrieve by just being in the vicinity of a cell or sat phone even if the thing is turned off or not in use. I've seen some of the results first hand and it's pretty neat. Thanks for reporting in.
  11. I use that phrase from time to time, generally in a fashion that's decidedly opposite of what you're thinking of here... If you have to be a good person because you believe your religion says you should be, are you really that good of a person? I'm a good person because the voices in my head tell me to.
  12. Thank God. I was afraid I'd have to go on and on with this. Now I can put my Hillary Clinton mask back on and continue pushing flag pins into my Barack Obama doll.
  13. When the Muslims lay down their arms, there will be no more war in the middle east. When the Israelis lay down their arms, there will be no more Jews in the middle east. At the heart of most arguments against Israel and its right to exist in the middle east, there is red hot, burning anti-Semitism at work.
  14. I'm not debating whether Obama does or does not have character. I'm making a comment on the rhetoric being used. Entirely different subject. Way to avoid a sack! Thread has nothing to with rhetoric being used... You may want to read the thread title and OP again if you think it has anything to do with Barack Obama's character. It has to do with Barack Obama's disrespect for the flag. I consider that a character flaw for the President of the US. But that's just me...
  15. You cannot assassinate what is not there. So someone you disagree with politically has NO character? Overstate much? This is exactly the kind of political rhetoric which convinced me to become Independent. Yikes. What makes you think I am not an Independent...or a Libertarian? I gave some examples of why I believe Barack Obama has no character. Give me some examples to the contrary. I'l give you some.. he is the most transparent preside.......ah wait......... he is going to heal the racial divide and make this nation..........ah wait a minute..........He will stop the hateful rhetoric like using the term tea baggers..................ah wait a minute he will cut wastefull spending under his adm. and cut the deficit in half in his first two years................ah wait a minute............. what did he do in office his first three years? Oh yeah I remember now; he spent and spent and spent and spent but I don't think that was one of his campaign promises, was it!?!?!!?!? Man, you are at the top of your game JR20.

  19. Ever since we coined that name, many groups different have either claimed that name or were given that name. They share a general ideology and perhaps share some sources for funding and weapons, but they are not the same group. Just like Hezbollah, there are many groups with that name. And the sun rises in the east, but that doesn't answer my question. The statement was that we made an error by announcing bin Laden's death. This begs the question, who in bin Laden's organization have we missed out on capturing/killing because we announced his death? ...one word....BIEBER We have a winner!!!!!
  20. You cannot assassinate what is not there. When the President sat through Rev. Wright's countless sermons (20-years' worth) where he (Wright) damned America told us what Barack Obama thinks of the US Flag...and the US. Of course, we all know that he only attended that church so he'd have credibility with the black community in Chicago. And sitting through those diatribes and nodding his head in approval was part of earning that credibility. Now, I don't really know if he nodded his head in approval. What I do know is this - he didn't get up and walk out. Ad when he was asked about it, instead of condemning Wright, he claimed to have not heard it...maybe he was doing the Sunday crossword puzzle...or maybe he was doing what he did in his day job - simply voting "present."
  21. http://www.gregpalas...eece/#more-4977 Again you have the wrong man. Goldman didn't do anything the Greek govt let them do it. You should be pointing straight toward the greek govt and the greedy people who want it all but don't want to pay for it. You have heard many times if it sounds too good to be true it probably is. The Greek people had to have known that they couldn't reitre at 50 and get 100% of their salary and all the health benefits paid for by the state. That is just not sustainable (people in the USA, are you listening?) they just chose to close their eyes and ride their country all the way to the poor house. The Greek govt should have stood up and said they had a problem way back then and it would have saved them some pain. But...but...but...the next thing you're going to say is that the Government was wrong to coerce banks into lending money to people who couldn't afford to buy a $250,000 house on an annual salary of $40,000. We all know it was Wall Street and the banks who pressured the Government to pass the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) and tricked all of those poor people into making $3,000/month house payments when they were only clearing about $3,000/month. It's human nature to want to move up the economic ladder and having a better house is an American right. And it's our responsibility to bail those poor, unfortunate homeowners out. I like to think of it as redistribution of wealth. I truly believe that is the way to fix all of this...Wait a minute...my nose is growing and I feel like flying monkeys are going to start flying out of my lower region any minute. I'll have to get back to you....
  22. That's what Greece is for aren't you listening to my detailed evil and ingenious plan. Anyway if that falls through everyone is invited for a sleepover at Yos's house. byowmpb (bringyourownweeniesmarshmellowspillowsblankets) I'll supply the music!! The passwords will be "Guy Fawkes." And stay off my lawn!!!
  23. The homeless guys will stay 24x7. The rest will go home at night...and return in the morning. That's when NYC will clean the park up - they can deal with the homeless pretty ruthlessly without getting nearly as much bad press.
  24. Now, having said that, I imagine that if we (you and I) had had the summer he has gone through, we probably would have done the same. Are you talking about the President? Yes...I assumed you were referring to him when you said "It'd have been nice if we hadn't released the news." Who were you talking about?
