  1. OK. I think I'm caught up on this except for the KJJ predictions. That's going to take a little work.

amhynes89 out to a big lead with 13 correct picks. obert1 and Warrior10 in second with 8 followed by seofred92 with 7 then Bball1091, L.husker713, Mavric and Roger Dorn with 6.

Let me know if you see any mistakes on your picks.

And keep up the good work. :thumbs

The myth of Callahan's recruiting abilities live on, I guess...

    Thanks Wanderful for this chart.

Class ratings can be skewed by number of commits - both upwards and downwards. Looking at the average rating of the recruits in each class is still an imperfect gauge but at least adjusts for number of commits:

Here are the average ratings based on the scholarship signees using 247 Composite

    Class Average Recruits (# 4*+)

    02 .8316 18 (2)

    03 .8316 19 (2)

    04 .8237 20 (2)

    05* .8523 32 (7)

    06* .8493 22 (5)

    07* .8587 26 (6)

    08 .8449 29 (3)

    09 .8580 19 (2)

    10* .8642 20 (5)

    11 .8832 21 (9)

    12 .8773 17 (8)

    13 .8654 24 (7)

    14 .8601 24 (2)

    15 .8616 21 (4)

    16 .8707 21 (5)

    * 2005 - Leon Jackson isn't on 247's list but was a 4* on Rivals

    * 2006 - Major Culbert doesn't show a rating on 247 but was a high 3* on Rivals

    * 2007 - Armando Murillo (JUCO) not included in 247's list

    * 2010 - Stanley Jean-Baptiste and Chase Harper (JUCOs) not included in 247's rankings

  3. I mean ... this contest would be a lot more fun if jsneb83 wasn't going all Steph Curry on us. I guess we can at least still fight for second.

jsneb is up by almost 100 points on second place and has more teams left - Kansas, Oklahoma and Notre Dame - than anyone within 200 points. Nice work.

  4. For those following spring ball closely, have they done a full on scrimmage or has it mostly been drills and just minor scrimmaging thus far?

I don't remember hearing much about scrimmages. I don't think they've done a lot of "live" work in general. But there aren't a lot of practices open to the media so they might not have seen it. But I don't think so.

  5.

Would like to have him visit again before committing but it doesn't sound like that will happen.

I think we've done a good job but he just visited Penn State last month and his Crystal Ball is heavily PSU. Not liking the sound of this.

  6. A third-year sophomore from Lincoln East, Reimers could be part of Nebraska's main rotation of receivers this season. In fact, Riley, the second-year Husker head coach, said earlier this spring that Reimers perhaps could be like another Lane Hovey, who last season started five games and caught 12 passes for 158 yards before transferring to Montana for his senior year.

The 6-foot-5, 210-pound Reimers is similar in size to Hovey (6-4, 205).
"It gets me excited for the season," Reimers said of Riley's comments. "It makes me want to come out here and compete every day and work for that spot, just like Hovey did last year."
Reimers embraces the notion of being a role player in the manner of Hovey, who was an excellent blocker on bubble screens. In double-tight end formations, Hovey was a big target on slant routes against one-on-one coverage.
"I think I could match up like that," said Reimers, who made 27 receptions for 596 yards (22.1 per catch) as a senior at East.

  7. Sounds like Gebbia may decide in the next week, like HuskerExpat said.

I'd say it's sounding to me like about 75% chance it's DONU so I'm going all #YOLOSTRONG on you guys and saying Gebbia will be :bigredn: ext.

  8. Hadn't watched Oregon play at all before but the rest of the Pac-12 didn't fare very well. Oregon obviously deserves the #1 seed. They are tough.

That was about as boring of a set of Sweet 16 games as you'll find. Not that it was bad basketball but the closest game was ... what... 14 points?
