  1. Predicted conversion, to be replayed ad nausium over the next few weeks:

    Poster A: I heard The Team/Player X is doing/not doing ____________________. I think The Team/Player Y should be doing/not doing _____________________ instead.

Poster B: Are you at practice? Do you know what's really going on? This is just spring ball. The coaches know what they're doing. Don't have a cow, man. We have to give it time to see what actually happens.

  2. Freshman forward Jack McVeigh had back-to-back games of 17 points and 16 points, and now has produced back-to-back scoreless games. In fact, he played a season-low 4 minutes against Purdue.

Miles said he pulled McVeigh in the first half after Purdue had three straight three-pointers in a 13-0 run.
"Maybe it’s not all Jack’s fault; I have to see that," Miles said. "But I know we had just subbed him in, it seemed like, and he was in the middle of everything going wrong.”

  3. “We ran all kinds of actions to try to get Andrew going, but there are some things I believe he could do better for himself,” Miles said, specifically noting running harder in transition and working to get to the free-throw line more often.

White attempted a Big Ten season-low six field goal attempts. He’s battled a shoulder stinger and bruise, but Miles said that shouldn’t be that big of an issue now.
“Everybody goes through a little funk, and certainly that injury threw him off,” Miles said, “but now I think he’s healthy and we’ve got to get him back on track.”

  4. I haven't been doing them because there wouldn't be anything to predict if they stick with their commitment.

However, I've considered adding them if the guy is looking around, as he appears to be doing here. But I'm not sure if that is quite the equal playing field as the non-committed recruits.

  5.

I could see Nebraska's first Big Ten win against Ohio State showing up on this list.........mainly because of the great comeback

There really wasnt a great play in that game though. Nothing like a hail mary play or a moment where you went "Holy Crap!!". That game was a succession of plays made by the entire team; the David strip, Baptiste's Int, and Martinez/Burkhead making plays on the offensive side of the ball. Great game, but nothing that deserves to be on this list.

I would say Burkhead's reception/juke/sprint to the pylon was a pretty great play at a pretty key time.

But I doubt it has enough clout to make this list.

  6. So...all told, I'm good for a traditional feet-wet kind of year for the #2 guy. Extended looks in garbage time and maybe another opportunity here or there, but in any case you want to manage it carefully. On-field experience even in limited amounts can help springboard him for 2017. A redshirt could benefit him, too. In any case, there's a lot less pressure this year on POB than on Green unless Tommy somehow loses the job.

Problem is .... it's been awhile - as in years - since there's been much garbage time to go around.

Unless you're looking at the *other* kind of garbage time.
