  1. Here is the thing that absolutely doesn't make any sense to me at all.

If a player loses their helmet, why do they have to go to the sideline for a play? Has their been any statistically proven study ran that indicates that said player has a higher chance of getting a concussion ONE play after they lose their helmet?

I understand that the rule is for player safety, but I don't understand how sitting out for one play after your helmet comes off decreases the likelihood of receiving a concussion.

I don't know, but my assumption was that it's to try to get them to secure the helmet better always. So missing a play is a punishment to prevent it from happening. That's the only thing that makes sense to me.

    Then

    2) Do the officials really think that it's going to lead to players making sure their helmet doesn't fall off again? I mean, is one play enough of a deterrence to stop them from "not securing their helmets". They should have to be taken out for the rest of the current drive. I think that would be enough of a deterrence.

Depends. I would think the players wouldn't want to come out of a game for something that's pretty easily preventable. After it happens in a couple critical situations - as it did tonight when Clemson's QB had to sit out a critical play late in the game - I'd be willing to bet it will have an effect.

At least they're trying to do something about it. If the helmet comes off that easily, it is NOT fitted properly - and thus not protecting properly. End of story.

  2. The D came around in the second half. Bo commented that they may have prepared for too many thing - they didn't really know what SMiss would do. SMiss had 25 carries for 95 yards (under 4 ypc) and was 1/8 throwing for 15 yards. Holding anyone to about 100 yards in a half is pretty good.

Still lots of room for improvement but at least they were headed in the right direction. LOVED the pressure we brought at times.

  3. Looks like Carnes days are numbered. Hope to see Marrow in there quite a bit. Z. Anderson behind Santos at 3rd string is surprising since many on here seemed to think during his recruitment he'd come in and be starting.

We'll see how much clamoring for Carnes there is this year. He was supposed to be our "savior" last year (according to some) and now he's #4. Hmmmmmm.......

  4. Too late. I've been told by way too many people on HB that I am not to believe a single word that comes out of Fox News.

Who said that? Plenty of talk about bias from Fox . . . which is accurate. Did someone actually say to not believe a single word?

    Well, actually, yes.

Why, why, why do you so staunchly support Fox news when you know they are full of it? That's what I don't get. It's not even that they promote another viewpoint - they out and out lie.

Fox news is the only "news" source to ever sue to win the right to lie to their audience. How can you possibly trust that?

By all means, show me where I'm wrong in any of the posts I make deriding Fox. Point out the mistake. You don't, and you can't, because I'm not. Fox is a propaganda engine. Failing to see that is contributing to the mess this country is in.
