That's not exactly true.  NU scored 28 points vs. Northwestern.  Nebraska reached 28+ points only 5 games last year.

Any semblance of a run game, a single defensive eraser, any kind of push on either the offensive or defensive lines, and a more disciplined head coach would have won this game easily.  Also, one call didn't go their way on the first NW turnover that was obviously not a turnover (thanks B1G refs).  If they score on that possession, this game could have gotten out of hand easily.

This has as much to do with mental toughness as it does with physical.

This team is capable of coming out with focus and discipline. They have good talent and good schemes and good results. They are never out of the game against supposedly better talent, and always have multiple opportunities to right the ship against lesser opponents.

One penalty for five yards.  For the entire game.

Last few years, one of the most penalized teams in the country.

That's an improvement, yes.  But you gotta execute WITH discipline as well.

  3. What did we learn?

    • Offense:
    • Continued lack of a running game, still too heavily reliant on the QB.
    • Lack of an ability to adjust during the game.
    • Can't make catches/throws/blocks when it is on the line.
    • Lack of an alpha "Dog" to lead when needed.
    • Questionable playcalling, leading to the defense on the field for most of the game.
    • Defense:
    • Still missing tackles.
    • No push from the front four.
    • Back seven struggles in zone.
    • On the field way too much, and when they are, can't get off the field on third down.
    • Missing some guy named Jojo....GREATLY.
    • Special Teams:
    • No killer instinct on punt or kick returns.
    • Coaching:
    • Brutal.  Calls don't put players in the best position to succeed.
    • Head coach has his hands in stuff way too much, and it shows when he does.
    • New OC doesn't seem to be dedicated to the run.
    • DC was lucky to have an eraser last year named Jojo....now his ineptness is showing.

Also learned that Northwestern is a much improved football team from last year. A win over them would have done wonders.

I'm not convinced it's actually nuclear secrets that were at MAL, but if there were, there are exceptions to what even the president can declassify:

Not Even the President Can Declassify Nuclear Secrets

This is a man who is alleged to have destroyed and attempted to flush secure/incriminating documents down the toilet at the White House.  A senior white house staffer went under oath and testified that he threw food against the wall, and tried to fight his security detail.

Would it be beyond the pale that the guy would have nuclear secrets in his hands?

  5. Breitbart "reporting":

"The warrant that authorized the search of former President Donald Trump's residents at Mar-a-Lago shows it was issued by U.S. Magistrate Judge Bruce Reinhart on Aug. 5th 2022, at 12:12 p.m. - nearly three full days before the Justice Department and FBI conducted a raid to execute it."

Give me a freaking break.  Really?  That's beyond a weak a$$ gotcha there.

What, were they waiting at the door for the warrant?  C'mon, Herr Bannon, you can do better.

Breitbart has the warrant it appears...but they're not going to publish it. Just telling us how to interpret it. They also doxxed the FBI agents involved (why does the right insistent on putting cops in danger). Pretty obvious Trump gave it to them to provide some cover.

That's because they probably had the warrant as soon as Trump got it, so that he could have Herr Bannon get the word out there.

I said earlier that the country needs to see the warrant info. That decision may be put in Trumps lap. This will get interesting.

C'mon @nic - we all know what he's going to do.  Anyone that thinks he's going to allow that warrant to see the light of day - without profiting from it somehow - is fooling themselves.

This is my question, but it's also something I may not understand. I am not sure how security protocols work at the highest level. In a prior post, my guess is that he took them for some sort of perceived legal defense or its info that he thinks exonerates him from past accusations.

So, here's the thing about having a clearance.  A security clearance, for anyone, can be granted to....or removed from anyone.   If you show yourself not able to abide by the grounds and rules of having the clearance, you lose it.

Second - all of the documentation that had to do with his duties as POTUS don't belong to him.  They belong to the United States Government, i.e., the American People.  On his last days in office, he and others in his administration were taking things from the White House (which are US property) as souvenirs.

Lastly - my daughter is 19 and did an internship with a government contractor.  As part of her duties, she had to obtain a clearance.  When she would call me, she'd say, "I saw some really cool things today, Daddy.  But I can't tell you, because if you did, I'd have to kill you."  All jokes aside - my NINETEEN YEAR OLD DAUGHTER knows more about national security than the guy who sat his Hamburder eating Cofefe in the Oval for 4 years.

  9. This guy.  But I guess I can't be surprised that a guy who looked the other way while coaching athletes that were being sexually assaulted would say some crap like this:

    https://www.businessinsider.com/jim-jordan-deletes-tweet-10-year-old-abortion-another-lie-2022-7

Republican Rep. Jim Jordan deleted a tweet on Wednesday in which he called the story of a 10-year-old Ohio girl receiving an abortion after being raped "another lie" following the arrest of a man in connection with the case.

"Another lie. Anyone surprised?" Jordan, an Ohio Republican, wrote on Twitter in a message on his official account that quoted a story about Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost's office initially saying it had not found any evidence to support the rape charge.

It actually pisses me off that rural Nebraskans could be duped by Trump and turn into such snowflake weaklings that they think they need a savior like him who has never done a bit of physical labor in his life and has never associated with people like them and most likely detests them and would wash his hand if they shook it. They aren’t supposed to be stupid and they aren’t supposed to be weak and it’s f#&%ing disappointing. My grandpa farmed all his life and he was a bit bigoted but he voted for Obama when he was in his 90s and all of his kids are complete Trump homers.

This isn't just rural Nebraskans, and, let's be clear, here.

Trump appeals to the inner being of many people, and brings that ugly inner being to the surface of those people.  These people are (and have always been) who they are.  Trump just gives them license, part and parcel to act on their inner self because he does the same thing.

I have an uncle that is like that.  During my mother's funeral, I found out he was supposed to be there, but couldn't because he and the family caught COVID.  When I called to check up on him, he immediately regurgitated the whole "aborted baby fetuses" line to me and talked about using Ivermectin and the same treatments that Trump used (or so he was told).

One of the smartest dudes I'd ever known.  I spent 45 minutes in tears trying to convince him to not make me have to bury him the same time as my Mother.  Thankfully, he made it through, but still refuses to get vaccinated....strictly because of Trump.

He's not a rural Nebraskan....he's an older, college educated African-American retired AF veteran male living in Alabama.
