  1. Well, we've done our best to give this game to Gonzaga. Let's see if they accept our gift
  2. Really? Bases loaded with 1 out and we can't get a run in? I guess we haven't exercised the Mike Anderson demons just yet.
  3. I'm gonna say over. the issue is wind is out of the SOUTH much of the season at haymarket I was under the impression he had hit almost 12 last year. I didn't realize he only had 5. I'll still go with over though, cuz I've heard he's supposed to be quite the hitter
  4. I was actually trying to reply to the dude who got all offended. I messed up
  5. So we've now had three base running mishaps in our first two innings. Nice Do you know how a hit and run works? That mishap is on the batter before the runner. Settle down. Would you have been happier if I had just said "mishap?"
  6. So we've now had three base running mishaps in our first two innings. Nice
  7. The last couple of years, I stopped paying attention to anything but the final scores in baseball because Anderson was such an obvious incompetent. Is Hirsch going to be our regular Friday starter and is he expected to be a true ace?
  8. Imagine if we hadn't have run ourselves out of the last inning...
  9. Not exactly the start to the Erstad era I had been hoping for. An error on defense and 2 tootblans on offense?
  10. But why are we the only Big Ten team not actually partaking in the Big Ten-Big East Showdown? Especially since the Big East is as crappy a baseball conference as the Big Ten is.
  11. What in the name of holy god makes you think we're going to be BETTER next year? We lose quite a bit of "talent" off this team.
  12. This seems like the perfect opportunity to announce that Doc won't be returning after this season and begin the hunt for a new head coach. I know that's not how it will go down, but we've hit bottom. Tom needs to be proactive right now. He can't be perceived as continuing to support a coach who's clearly in well over his head. I can't wait to hear Doc's latest version of "I don't know why we lost!"
  13. Won't happen. SHOULD. But won't happen.
  14. Well in Doc's defense Penn State is one of the Big Ten's premiere Basketball teams.... Obviously.
  15. We're down 18 to freaking Penn State? Is Doc going to be proud of this performance as well?
  16. Injuries made us slightly worse. We still are not nor would have been a good team. For what seems like the 107th time, PUHLENTY of people knew this team wasn't going to be good. WE.WERE.PICKED.TO.FINISH.ELEVENTH. How exactly do you define progress? Yes, last year was better than the epically bad year he had on 2009-2010. Doc has never finished higher than 7th in the conference. We finished the season losing five of our last six games. We got DESTROYED in the first round of the NIT. Where you and Tom see progress, plenty of others saw a race towards mediocrity. That he was awarded for. Now we have a freshman class that Doc himself says isn't good enough to play in the Big Ten. This if after YEARS of awful recruiting and the supposed improvement there. Where the hell is the progress? By the way, if you had actually bothered to read what I wrote, I clearly said I didn't know they would be THIS embarrassing. I had a very strong hunch they were going to be bad, because I don't believe Doc Sadler is a remotely good coach. That isn't a new or unheard of opinion either, though I'm sure you'll behave as if it was. Are we talking about the same sport? I'm talking about the basketball team. Nebraska fricking basketball, and youre worried about it "becoming" mediocre. Hell, I wish it was that good. You have PUHLENTY of perspective. I'm done with you. You claim no one saw a season this bad, yet you admit the program isn't in good shape. You claim there's progress, then act like I'm an idiot for not wanting to celebrate that mediocrity. You admitted earlier you like to argue. I would imagine this is little more than trolling me at this point. Have a good one.
  17. I think you're giving Sipple FAR too much credit. He's already anointed Erstad as a success, with nothing to back it up. Sipple IS a fan boy. Which is why that article was striking. As I said to a friend of mine, when Steve Sipple jumps off your bandwagon, the bandwagon has lost all four tires and is probably on fire. Hell, Sipple will still claim Mike Anderson didn't get a fair shake. We're talking about the same Sipple that openly lamented that Texas A&M got the better of the two coaches when Van Horn left? Hardly. I agree that T.O. would not publically fire him during the season................but the negativity surrounding the program HAS to convince him to be burning up the phone lines NOW so that we aren't competing with everyone else for new blood at the end of this dismal season. You mean like he did with the baseball coach?
  18. My point was that there was no reason to fight to keep him. He's not good. We should have allowed him to be someone else's problem.

  20. Its only a mistake in retrospect. No. it wasn't. It was a mistake at the time it happened. I guess we'll disagree. Having talked with TO shortly there after there were several reasons and it was easy to agree with him. Obviously he had his reasons. If he had others that he didn't voice in public, I'd love to hear what they are. There was no reason to resign Doc in order to keep him from leaving, and recruiting wasn't aided by keeping him around either. It was a terrible decision.
