  1. I almost think he should just go JUCO at this point. If you can't qualify you can't qualify. Hope to see him in red someday.

No kidding. That's what Braylon Heard did.

Sorry, Braylon Heard accomplished with Jackson has been trying to do. Sit our a year and get the ACT and grades in orders then come. Did not go JUCO.

  2. I dunno about this. I am certainly am no recruiting expert--in fact I don't even follow recruiting very close until the bowls are over. But wouldn't Rivals/Scout/etc contact the school to verify a commitment before publishing them? Seems like it would be misinformation clusterfog if the recruiting services just went by what the kid or kid's hs coach says.

The coaches or anyone at Nebraska can not comment on the recruit before national signing day. So the recruiting services only have the recruit or people close to the recruit they can use as sources. It would be an NCAA violation if anyone at Nebraska commented to the recruiting service (or anyone for that matter) about the recruit committing.

I know that coaches can't comment on a recruit. But is it really a violation to confirm or deny that a player has committed? A simple yes/no answer? I could be wrong about it, but that just doesn't sound correct. And if that is right, well, that's f'd up. Seriously.

Yes, I am pretty sure it is a violation. Now I don't know if someone "Off the record" may have hinted that Brown has committed but I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that even mentioning if a recruit has committed is a violation.

  4.

I wish Bo would get more of the 4 and 5 star plug-n-play type of players on defense.

So would all the elite SEC Defenses. Most of those type of players come from SEC country so your recruiting against location and results on the field. Everyone wishes we'd get more 4 or 5 star "plug and play" guys but there just aren't enough to go around.

  5. No. Just a guy who knows a lot of people in the program and people who have deep pockets.

Do any of their names rhyme with Shmorren Shmuffett? Can any of them give me a loan?

This has already been discussed in this thread. Buffet does not donate much to Athletics. He has much bigger fish to fry like, curing the world from Parasitic diseases and AIDS.

  6. Wanting to work for Meyer, maybe. I just don't think it would be correct to say that TO wouldn't give the OK for shelling out big. In fact, just the opposite.

Urban Meyer wouldn't want any of NU's assistants.

He wasn't talking bout NU assistants. He didn't quote his reply but he was replying to a post i made.

  7. Once this hits espn it is going to give other schools a leg up on recruiting away our stud prospects. Hope bo makes a rapid smart hire. Someone with some clout in recruiting and coaching.

I don't see this hurting our recruiting

I'll bet he told recruits he was visiting that this was a possibility. Coaches are usually pretty honest with the recruits.

  8. Just a guess but tOSU has given Meyer basically a blank check to hire his staff and T.O. does NOT give OK to pay big for assistant coaches. Nebraska can not be in a bidding war for a DC with tOSU cuz we will lose. I don't care if he was a childhood friend.

The new DC will be someone they can pay $250,000 or less, and since Bo handles Defense a lot anyway it'll probably be someone with experience at a lower level school.

Oh no, the bold is not true at all. We have money and T.O opened up the checkbook for Bo. Money was not an issue with our hiring process.

Carl made $375,000 last year. I bet tOSU will pay much more than that for Stoops. My point was that people were saying Stoops would want to work for Pelini rather than Meyer and I think he'll get paid more working for Meyer and that would be a major determining factor.

  9. Need to pick him up quick.... been hearing Urban Meyer is wanting him on his staff as DC

Just a guess but I am sure he would pick working with one of his good friends over Meyer.

  10. I went to undergrad in Iowa and alot of my friends are hawkeye fans. The best man in my wedding is a hawkeye fan and we too have made up a trophy. It is an ear of corn and we are going to write the scores on the kernals through the years. We're pretty excited about it.
