Its embarrassing people jump to the conclusion that this is about money. It's his hometown school, 30 minutes away from him with a lot of friends and family there. The same people who say this has to do with $$$ are the same that would take this kid in a second.

Not as embarrassing as twitter will be after he picks Kentucky...

What makes you guys think hes done? Fired or leaving to go to another school?

I get the same feeling too. Off shore books have already put up odds of who the OSU coach will be to start spring practice and Urban and Matt Campbell are essentially tied.

and I think it will go down similar to his Florida situation. A lot of experts have commented on how Urban just looks not well on the sideline.

This is all my opinion of course.

Top 25 this season would be impressive considering our record.

I agree. And I think that we would be bridging the gap to the top 15. As it stands now the top 15-ish have separated themselves pretty well from the rest of the pack.

It appears we are trending for 4- 4 star commitments. That would be a huge boost to our class.

Markquese Bell- Safety- no word on commitment timeframe

Bryce Benhart- OT- no word on commitment timeframe

    Wandale Robinson- RB/WR- commits 11/1

    Darian Chase- WR- commits tomorrow

So I only follow recruiting on this board. But i went over the 24/7 site and looked at the class rankings.  I found the class calculator, which is pretty cool. Our class score is 210 which currently sits 24 in the country. I put in Robinson, Benhart and Bell to see what the score would be and it jumped Nebraska to a score of 224 which would only move us up to 21.  This is assuming schools ahead don't get any more highly rated guys.

Since I am not well-versed in the recruiting rankings, it is reasonable to believe that even IF Nebraska goes 4/4 on the 4-stars we will likely be at roughly 19 - 22 range class rankings?

I don't disagree there as tOSU will most likely reload at QB whether it's Martell or someone else.  Still, it's a bit of an unknown.  Nebraska has their dude and he's going to be there for minimum the next 2 years and he'll be able to build a rapport with AM.

As for Purdue, it's Sindelar (sp?) most likely next year or one of their other dudes.  Brohm is a heckuva coach so I'm sure they'll be ok.  Still...what if Brohm leaves?

Next year will be Sindelar at Purdue. The best move Brohm made in his two years here are Purdue was to quit with the 2 QB rotation. Sindelar is very prone to throwing up Yolo bombs and getting INT'd. Also, has very little mobility.

I think he could be very good in Brohms offense at Purdue, but I don’t think he will be at Purdue for a whole lot longer.

I too think Brohm is gone after this year. Being here in West Lafayette it is just too hard to envision 18 yr olds wanting to come here. They have made an investment in facilities but they still lag in the bottom half of the conference.

funny how my Purdue neighbors don’t think Brohm will even look around. I think they are still a bit high from last nights victory... I also told them Wandale didn’t even make his visit and one guy replied “we don’t need him anyway.”  They’re drinking the kool-aid around here a bit.

Unless he likes a pressure free environment but more than likely that is not the case.

I would stay at Purdue...easy division...winning 8-9 games makes you a legend...nice salary...fan base is into it but not crazy.

I agree but Louisville to him is what Nebraska is to Frost. And half of Brohms staff are from Louisville. I would also be worried if we went to Louisville and offered Wandale from there...

my buckeye fan buddy that I went to the game with thinks Wandale is a lock for tOSU.

Jeff is already gone...Purdue knows it...he is off to L'Ville

I could see Auburn making a move for him too.

The Ross-Ade was hopping last night but even on it’s best night like last night it can’t touch Memorial stadium. I froze my a$$ off though.

i agree with teacher. I was saying Brohm wouldn’t stay here and I think last night sealed it that he will be poached by a big School.

I hope you're right.  I think Purdue is going to put up some points on Saturday in what should be a pretty high scoring game...if Ohio State is motivated they'll be able to put up as many as they want.  Hopefully Robinson doesn't see what Purdue is doing with Moore and think, "Yup, that looks sweet."

I think Purdue is also going to score a lot Saturday. I’m going to the game and my buddy from C-bus is coming down. he’s terrified that Purdue is going to shred a secondary that has not been good this year.

At the moment, if it really is between Purdue and Nebraska, then I think the offense output and role he plays is a wash between both offenses. What Nebraska has over Purdue (other than the facilities and tradition) is that Brohm isn’t long for West Lafayette. Especially if Louisville opens up. He would be almost guaranteed that Frost will be there his entire time at Nebraska.

  10. I don’t follow recruiting outside of the info I get on this board. I’m curious about how the way our season has unfolded will effect recruiting? Conventional wisdom (read: my opinion) would be that some commits may waiver due to the way the season has gone so far.

    1. Are any current commits waivering?

    2. If no, who do we have currently committed that we need to worry about the most being plucked due to the current circumstances?

Thanks. I’ll hang up and listen off the air.

edit: whoops! Guess I should have just looked three threads below. Sorry.

And if the defense didn't commit that one stupid roughing the quarterback penalty, I think we'd be celebrating the coming out party for the Husker defense, which played pretty salty, tackled a hell of a lot better, and got some good QB pressure for a change.

But the team lacks the killer instinct. Both offense and defense had the chance to close out, as they did against Colorado, and they just don't have the stones. I honestly don't think that's a talent issue, it's mental. It's teachable, so I'd like to see more of it very, very soon.

This. I think once it gets tight they either freeze up mentally or physically. No one wants to be the guy who makes the fatal error. It’d be equivalent to a guy in the ninth inning in baseball on defense thinking to himself “Don’t hit it to me.” then they play in fear and hesitant. it goes all the way to the damn kickers. Good for Pickering for hitting that big FG. He can use that to build on.

  12. I was in the stadium and at the start of that last drive I thought it was going to be tied.  If anything NW could just throw up yolo bombs and get DPI called to get down the field. Reminded me of the game at Illinois that Nebraska lost 14-13. The whole time you know the DBs wouldn’t able to cover anyone. I was at that game too. Maybe I just need to stop going to games...:confucius
