I'd rather have john cook take over then have hoke. He doesn't even wear a headset......shocking that there are communication issues
I know you were being sarcastic, I wasn't though
-
I am starting to side with Hedley, Hudspeth as hc Larry odom as dc and I know he's a head coach but try to get moglia as the offensive coordinator
-
I like the idea of hiring a seasoned older coach to have for a couple years while hiring frost as the oc/head coach in waiting
-
Just started* speaking f'in English too apparently

I've been around awhile, just start posting more frequently

Going to have to agree with Hannibal, the defeatist, cry-baby shat is getting as old as the underwhelming performances. Plenty of coaches would love to come here, but until we are officially looking for a coach we can speculate but let's knock the "no one wants to come here" shart off

20. stocking up on booze only to have to restock it after Saturday

I have a feeling the OP is frustrated 😐

Look all over the board..... We get that we are underwhelming and have been for some time. Does that mean that we disregard everything that our team has accomplished? No. What is one of the things that draws recruits here, our proud tradition and passionate fan base/game atmosphere. All of us on this board recognize there is an issue but scrapping our past accomplishments and demanding respect from the players is not going to improve our program
-
I get what you're trying to say but let's take it back a bit. Those kids bust their ass and we are "fans" this talk about them earning our respect and stuff is kind of crap. We are passionate fans, but we are in no way entitled. We proudly display those trophies and other things because we are a proud passionate fan base

FU wants a new coach who is good with offense. He could become their next Urban Meyer. I wonder if they are thinking of him. I'd hate to see them take him, then have him become a success, and we'd be sitting here still waiting for Bo to turn the corner.
Urban Meyer had success as a head coach at Bowling Green and Utah before he was at Florida. No way they hire Frost
Where did Muschamp have success as a head coach before Florida?
Which is exactly they'd avoid Frost, no head coaching experience

I like the idea of being able to pay Moglia substantially less since he is obviously not in coaching for the money, and his net worth is at least five times as much as any coach in football (college or NFL).
Currently
Pelini 3,230,000
Beck 700,000
Pap 310,000
Total: 4,240,000
Proposed
Moglia 1,500,000 (current salary: 175,000)
Frost: 800,000 (current salary: 400,000)
Proven DC TBD: 800,000
Total: 3,100,000
We save money and likely get a much better product. Moglia has another five years in him easily and can help pick out his replacement at that point.
BRING IT ON
Thing about Moglia is that he is financially secure in every sense of the word. I know I have been back and forth and am guilty as anyone when it comes to being jaded by our schedule. I probably actually owe some an apology whether it was from my belief in Tommy or thinking our defense had matured to a point. SOOOO to those I have argued with, my bad.
On another note, our chances of replacing our head coach did get more difficult as Glenn Smith who was running on the "Fire Bo Pelini" ticket for a spot on the board regents lost to Schafer(sp?) who pretty much has supported our coaches through and through....
-
So is Pelini playing coy?
That's exactly what I told a friend here at work I get the feeling that Ameer is close to a 100% as he can be and he is just being coy to keep the Badgers guessing as to what to plan for..

Im doing a google and seeing 4 years as a stutuate on NCAA rules, etc. Can anyone confirm? If this is true, this is nothing more than a laugher at this point isnt it?
I looked it up and the 4 years is correct, though they can look past it if there is evidence of repeated violations over a period of tkme

Beck continues to ignore the obvious. We have a great athlete playing QB who is incapable of making throws that Beck's system needs to work.
Beck no longer dumbfounds me. He simply has no idea how to call a game. year 4 and the same crap......Se Ya
TA is not the issue. Being put in those positions i.e. play calling is the issue.
D played lights out. I can only imagine how we would be without all the injuries so we could develop guys for next year.
ST is doing much better.
Still make mind numbing mistakes again and again and again. The only sure thing of this team.
Zaire and Gerry are beast's on D. Need another LB to step up and soon. The remaining teams on our schedule will exploit the fact no LB can cover a TE or RB across the field save Zaire and he can't cover 2 guys....
If AA's not 100%, forget about it. Beck can't call a complete game using 2 backs and jumbo sets....
TA needs to be told to tuck and run.
What was up with Ganz's hair?
Bo had great halftime and end game interviews.
I agree with a few of your points for example;
-Tommy needs to be put into positions to succeed as a quarterback. There was the true option called that the defense was sure was going to be pitched but was kept byTommy and he took it to the house. What happened to him running the ball? Through the first few games he was averaging something like 80 yards a game. I understand that it was against lesser opponents, but why not establish the run game a little bit, open it up with some play action throws that he can make and then throw in some QB draws, keeper options, just mixing it up on a drive or two? If that doesn't work go back to the bread and butter.
I, for one have been pretty pleased with the offensive production and at times not the play calling. I think that starting with the Northwestern game we've started to open up the playbook a bit, reverse pass, and it is doing both good and bad. If we run the new plays or trick plays to perfection they work and the team gets results, but if we don't we seem to be in a brown colored creek without a paddle. I think this two weeks will help alleviate some of the confusion, stupid mistakes that have been taking place and our overall execution will be better.
I am not a scout, coach or qualified in any way to critique coaches or players except from my view as a fan, which I usually try to keep modest. I do think Beck needs to minimize the playbook and stick with what is working. But I also had my eyes opened a bit reading that article from last week. He can't simply call run play after run play without putting a few passes in there. I would say that the best game he has called all season was the Miami game where we attempted what 13 passes? But what some (and I mean some and mean nothing negative towards anyone by this) are forgetting is that the reason why the run game was so successful is was because of the success of the pass game, Tommy was 9/13 with two TD's, one of which was a perfectly placed bomb from Armstrong to Bell which was our first score of the game and set the tone for the running game the rest of the night.
I guess my biggest thing I learned from this week is that our O-line has ton of growing up to do these next 12 days before we face that Wisky d-line as it is fierce and will give even the best lines fits, especially if they come unprepared. I think the harsh reviews these last couple weeks is encouraging as he seems to identified many of the same problems that we as fans have also commented on. Also a few people calling for Tommy and I guess all I can say is be patient or get over it as thats all we've heard the last six years and even before that when there was no complaining our offense was horrendous and wouldn't hold a candle to this offense. Some fans just will never be happy as they're stuck in the glory days and expect us to compete for a national title year in and year out. I know it has been a long time since we;ve been in that convo, but I'm enjoying this season as should we all be.

Tick. Tick. Tick
Don't tug at my heart like that unless you know something we don't....
-
Yeah, that spread is pretty damn big. We've covered every game so far except McNeese. Don't think it happens Saturday. I'd guess a 17-20 point win.
If you go by initial spreads, as said the Rutgers spread moved to as much as 20.5, but if you're this guy you got in early and won a two teamer with LSU!!

It's not just 247 that does that. I believe it was Scout that formed by branching away from ESPN because the West Coast recruitniks got tired of the east coast bias in the rankings. Basically anything west of the Mississippi was discredited and those covering that territory got fed up and formed Scout.
It's no excuse for 247 to downgrade him and ignore his talent, it hurts their credibility, but it happens across the board. Another reason why we're nuts for getting up in arms
It is pretty bad one site has him as the #2 all purpose back(rivals, at least they did) and then other sites barely pay him any mind. But think about it Ameer was only a 3 star, Rex was 3/4 though I think he was a 4 star on one, Roy was a 3, Imani was a 3. I try and take all these rankings with a grain of salt as Bo and Co are going to recruit players based on what they can do both on and off the field and I respect that........ Plus they can develop the shat of an rb so give us tr type of player bussey is and I see an all big ten selection in the future

I would love to see this young man visit Lincoln.
Agree. Though if he doesn't though two boys from Colorado are keeping me on the kool aid

Tennessee offered, if the time line is correct he went there on an unofficial last weekend without an offer, interesting
It is interesting. My opinion is that he is just enjoying the ride, I know I would be

The only one that really makes me mad is ASU didn't ucla break it off in themAccording to this, I think the polls have done a pretty good job of ranking teams. The 1 loss teams that haven't beat anybody (Nebraska, Duke, etc.) are not ranked as high due to no quality wins. 1 loss teams with quality wins (Ole Miss, Oregon, Auburn) have earned their ranking with some quality wins.
While it's good for Nebraska to pad the win totals in the Big 10 West division, the lack of quality teams might hurt us year in and year out as far as rankings and SOS is concerned. It'll be interesting to see how SOS plays a roll in the committee's rankings as we move forward.

OK, let's just pretend he's not looking at other schools and that there's nothing to see here.
I am totally pumped that this kid will be sharing time next year at DONU. Cross will get his carries, but it will be interesting to see who emerges from Newby, Taylor and KB. The rookie will definitely have a shot at picking up Ameer's slack. GBR
What does it matter if he visited another school??? His father and himself have said 100% committed multiple times, so who are we to question that if he wants to go check out College Station and the 12th man once before he begins his career here? They have done nothing to make us question his committment and its getting old talking every week about whether or not he is staying, he is committed and thats that. No ifs or in your words, "lets pretend", just shut up and be happy we've got him committed.

My definition of "not wavering one bit" must be different from yours, but I really don't have any interest in rehashing this conversation. Just pointing out the flaws in the girlfriend analogy posted above. (And by the way, the flaw in your own is that you shouldn't commit to someone, and allow them to commit to you, if you haven't finished checking out your options.)
Dude, quit being so negative. How many ways do other posters need to say it, they read this board and all you're doing is calling his character to question. If you were 18 years old and had this once in a lifetime opportunity to visits these other universities and be treated like a king you wouldn't jump on it? Obviously if his committment was being called to question don't you think we would be pursuing other options as well? We aren't are we? No because KB is our 2015 runningback and that's that. Look into all you want but the bottomline is you do not know what you are talking about.

#Huskers vs Northwestern preview. Wildcats preview: http://go.unl.edu/mb5n Two Minute Drill: http://snpy.tv/1wdI7fu
This is just an awesome graphic too, surprised by the difference in statistics, but also understand that Northwestern has two very underwhelming performances.

The problem isn't necessarily yelling but more the fashion in which it is done. All coaches yell, chasing down players and belittling them for 5+ minutes instead of attempting to "coach" is the problem..... That and consistently being embarrass by any team with a pulse
