If Nebraska wants Frost, it might very well be that we have to wait until he is through coaching UCF in their bowl game. It won't surprise me at all if Frosty says you have to let me finish out this year with these special kids and this special season. Personally, I think it would be classy and respectable if he requested that. These kids and UCF deserve it.
We shall see.
Winning a conference championship is one thing, they’re going to be in a NY6 bowl at best.... Look at past coaches they did the conference championship and then left to get cracking on their new job, Tom Herman comes to mind.

This....is....intriguing...Would Moos have already met with the team and informed them of a firing/hiring?
Well considering Tyjon is a true freshman and had a long offer sheet, it’s not out of the realm of possibility that Tyjon has followed Scott since he was at Oregon. I don’t know if he’s been on social media that long but that’s my guess.

It is very good if it is quiet. These are not things any AD or HC wants to play out in public (unless they are simply posturing).
It’s made the Florida search like it is in complete disarray.

I was just thinking how quite it is. Either that is really good or really bad... Not much for smoke
Just means we’ve got a competent AD who is not letting the world know every move.

Moos does too.

Guys, relax. Go back and read what Hedley said, he's agreed verbally, that's what Hedley said initially and just keeps having to repeat it.
-
ESPN bottom line just said Florida officials are meeting with Scott's people this weekend.

So assuming Riley is out tomorrow morning and the position is officially open. Could scott frost sign a contract in the afternoon and delay the announcement a week? Or would the university be forced to announce ?
He could sign it, but UNL is a public university so subject to Freedom of Information Act requests so everyone would know by Monday afternoon.

State will get jumped. Take care of business against USF y'all should be top 10
It’s because State will fall but WSU is 13 and play 17 UW... I imagine if Washington wins big UCF will get jumped. It’s silly but it’s the way the committee works unfortunately.

Husker Doc Talk is terrible, based on Travis Justice alone.
Thanks for your opinion.

On par with DocTalk? I just love hearing a dude as educated and well spoken start to slip into buzzer territory.

Helfrich won't be a coordinator again. Chinander is ok but I'm hoping there is some weight behind the Grinch rumors.
Personal opinion, but I think he’d take a higher level coordinator job over a smaller school HC gig. He got his shot as a HC because of his performance as an OC, as stated previously on this thread somewhere, it is really hard to consistently win at a smaller school. Be a coordinator at a highly exposed job, up your reputation and then get back it with the big boys. Greg Schiano is a good example of this.

I am but this is just a for fun thread isn't it?
Dude I feel for you right now, you were kind enough to share the knowledge you have and ever since then every word of yours is being analyzed. Thanks for sharing what you did, sorry that any time you say “yet” or “but” it’s another sidebar...And to expand on your comment, yes we’ve done worse; Riley, callahan. We could also of done way worse had Bounds and Green not acted and waited to react.
-
The answer to the coordinators under Frost could be simple. Chinander is his guy, only way it goes differently is if he is tagged as UCF’s next HC. OC, I could see Helfrich or the guy at UCF now. Helfrich wasn’t much as a head coach but he was a hell of a coordinator.
-
Well whatever happens he’ll have his work cut out for him as Chase Williams is out.

Vols1891 you were not kidding, there are tons of names over there. Schiano, Taggert, Gruden, Frost, Mullen, Norvell, Campbell etc. we’ve mentioned some names but as you can tell by our threads and volume we are essentially focused on Scott.

Wasn’t that Myakkka feller pretty civil?

It’s mostly just a bunch of unsubstantiated rumors and trolls posting made up “inside knowledge”. Then combine that with a couple hundred thousand posts about Gruden, combined with airplane tracking, recent real estate transactions, etc. Got worn out so I have been browsing Florida and Nebraska boards tonight.
Well you’re welcome here sir/ma’am, we had quite the string of crazy rumors, then as I said up ^ there somewheres, most our nerves were subdued when Hedley posted what he did.

Everyone on our board is assuming Frost is a lock for Nebraska. It is definitely interesting coming here and seeing that there is still quite a bit of doubt. Maybe I’m living in the 90s somewhat, but I still definitely consider you guys a top 10 job.
Thanks dude, we also consider that lol. There is doubt because everything is so hush hush. One of our most respected posters said it’s done, so a lot of us are content. Though nerves are still heightened.

Listening to things Frost says about UCF makes me think that he is staying. I’m not saying that he’ll never leave, but it just seems like he’s not ready to leave— like he wants to see how far he can take them.
i get it.. they’re undefeated and can’t crack the top 10. It’s tough, if not impossible to win a national championship at UCF unless they are to move into a Power 5 conference.
But if the money at UCF is now in the $4-4.5 million range, and he likes the proximity of the school with recruiting talent, and enjoys not having every move scrutinized, then he stays.
Yes, he could dispel all the speculation by just saying whether he’s staying or not. I think he hasn’t because he’ll give the decision to leave a good, fair and thorough assessment when the time is right.
And maybe Moos didn’t fire Riley earlier because he wanted to make sure his new hire was in the works first. And if he doesn’t get who he wants , he announces that Riley will be retained. ?? I hope I’m wrong!
If Frost were to turn us down, I personally think it wouldn’t come up again if we were to have a coaching search in the future. That sounds weird, but what I’m saying is I don’t think we as a program would reach out again after being spurned.

Not everyone was for Tressel. I sure wasn’t. He had too much baggage. With Scott most everyone is on board. Anyone else with thoughts?
I remember it the same... it was weirder rumors. I think the problem was is once we fired Bo I believe Tressel started getting him which led to a lot of false smoke.

"verbal acceptance" lmao. either he's signing a deal or he's not.
No if he’d signed it already we’d know, it’s a public university, therefore subject to a Freedom of Information Act request. Verbal is all they can do.

I have always respected Hedley’s word and I trust he is acting on actual information.

Ok, Frost was there. But I doubt he would have talked to Moos. That's what an agent is for.
No. Bill comes off as the kind of guy that he wants to look a man in the eye. I trust Hedley.... also who cares who he spoke to, if it’s done because of Moos’ efforts?

Do we even know if Moos was there? Or is it possible that he’s in Orlando with the basketball team?
