It is sort of the long game that you have to play.

Honestly, if you coach or do an overage (they don't usually do that unless it is high school) you can do just fine.

s#!t, I have a buddy teaching PE summer school this summer and he is getting 8,000 for that, on top of 5,000 for softball, 5,000 for baseball and probably another 3,000 in supervision.  That is in addition to his teaching salary.

Teaching salaries have always been treated as "supplemental salaries" usually earned by the second bread winner in the family, usually females.  My son took an entry level position at Burlington Railroad and earned more in his first year than I did in my last year of teaching.

There's no way the current state of the Republican Party is sustainable.  It's become an empty shell, morally bankrupt.  Dissenting views within the party are squashed and those holding those views are threatened politically or worse. I suppose the current incarnation can grab power and try to suppress democracy but is that sustainable in our country?  Odds are that would collapse, hopefully quickly.

What becomes of those like the Never Trumpers?  Do they stay and fight for the direction of the party or do they leave?  If they leave, then what?  Do they join the Democrats even though they aren't really welcome under the "Big Tent".  Do they try to form their own party?  Those never seem to fly but maybe it's enough to pull votes away from to the core Republicans à la Perot.

What is the Democrat's strategy?  They have internal fighting issues of their own. The thing is, most of the country appears to be somewhat centered.  Is a third, centrist party even a possibility in our two party system?

Whether you're right, left, or centrist the future of the Republican Party is critical to you.  If you're left and the Republicans gain the White House again there may never be fair and free elections in the future.  If you're right, your party is teetering on the edge of collapse.  If you're centrist you really have no place especially in the new Republican Party and this entire s#!t show has to be wearing you out.

There has to be some sort of solution for that small percentage of Republicans who believe in science, facts, the rule of law, democracy and our constitution.  By leaving the party they can have an impact on the balance of power in our country.  I gotta believe this is not an insignificant amount of people who are tired and embarrassed by the path their party has taken. So, what are they to do and can anything be effective enough so we don't wind up just another banana republic?

It was extremely disturbing...what the actual 'f' is wrong with sexual assault laws...I wonder if his attorney (Mallory Hughes) is able to sleep at night knowing that happened and basically blaming the female for what happened.

Do either one of these rapists get signed on with another team?

What is wrong with our justice system, period?

Based on which kids? People can debate Wan'Dale's rationale, but none of the others are surprises. B1G West champ Northwestern has 8 guys in the portal this year - in the past they would just suddenly not be on the roster, but now there are announcements and speculation. And for NW, it's not even guys buried on the depth chart - the RBs had been passed, but were still #2 and #3 for carries and yards among their RBs. McGowan was their #2 receiver. Leota led the team in sacks. Ruiz played in every game with a couple of starts. It's not just here.

Wan'Dale (and JD) are the only recent ones I would consider concerning, and I understand Wan'Dale's reasons. You can argue the Florida guys too, but we lost most of them when Covid hit and Gray had to go back home.

You don't lose players the caliber of Robinson and JD, period.

Give up at the first sign of adversity...sigh.  Losing the starting job doesn't mean you can't reach all your goals.  Take Cardale Jones for instance - 3rd string guy that played himself into the NFL draft.

Not going to happen.  If that would be the case, which I doubt would happen, it would appear he was not100% invested.  That would answer a lot of questions .

Agree. People on this board were pointing out LBs over pursuing and not being disciplined from the first game.

When my wife can see the obvious deficiencies at LB, it has to be pretty damned obvious.

I learned that we have a lot to work on.

No deep throws at all and bad offense.

We showed we have improved forcing turnovers on defense.

Martinez was overhyped going into this game. Not sure if the hype got to him or what. We need more receivers to step up.

We still don't have our starting center figured out.

We found out that we still lack physical play in the offensive line play.  If that continues, it will be another long, disappointing season.
