And what will the criminal trump do but turn us into an autocratic right wing dictatorship. The guy only wants power and uses his cult to do his bidding. Right now he is planning another insurrection no doubt about it. The FBI most likely has the goods on him but he’ll lie deflect and blame and the cult will believe him and not the evidence in front of their eyes

Trump is just like any common play ground bully.  He surrounds himself with ignorant thugs and hacks, plays the threat game and then turns his dogs on his opponents.  However, get the bully in a place where he is by himself and he cowers like a sick pup.

This is what is unfolding right now as the FBI is searching his residence.  This is too big of a deal for the DOJ to make a misstep.  They had to have "probable cause" of a crime and convince a judge to issue a warrant to confiscate relevant documents or evidence to support their "probable cause" statement.

Trump does not have the presidency to hide behind, or a sycophant bunch of spineless Senators to bail him out when he gets impeached (twice).  He is now standing in the middle of the playground, by himself, showing is cowardly attributes to the rest of the class.  He has nowhere to run and nowhere to hide.  His base will make a lot of noise but they will soon learn how they got conned by a snake oil salesman.

What's up fellow Husker fans!  Husker fan living in Austin, Texas.  Born in Fremont and have all my family in the area.  Lifetime Husker fan and a pretty steady sunshine pumper.  I'm looking forward to the upcoming season.  Getting pretty excited actually.

I thought I read that they were going to be scrimmaging today.  Does anyone know if that is true?  Curious if there were any reports on how they looked.

Really looking forward to talking Husker football with you guys.

    Yes, no media allowed.

The irony is that if the committee succeeds in keeping Trump from running in 2024 (whether that be damage or jail), it will help the republicans. Then the Dems turn around and support pro Trump candidates in primaries versus the more moderate candidates because they will be easier to beat….but what if the Dems do not beat them? Isn’t that putting insurrection supporters into public office? Politics is a dirty game. I would never survive it.

Not going to happen. If Trump is convicted and goes to jail, game over for the Pubs.

I'm not predicting anything so much, but what we seen last season, spring, and going into fall.

Rhamir got the ball because he blocked/protected Adrian in the pocket.  Undersized back giving it up against DL/LB bigger than him.  Plus he has good hands, some twitch, and quickness.

Last year it was "Don't want to block?  You won't get the rock"

It will be interesting to see how Gabe Ervin does.  I think Yant has taken leaps and bounds to be a #2 guy.

Grant has established himself from where he came from, and had a good showing in spring.  So it will be interesting to see him get in a groove.

Freshmen, such as Allen can contribute.  But realistically far down with mental toughness and physicality.  Most freshmen (like Mo Washington for example) see the DL coming and they want to immediately run to the sidelines and avoid contact/getting smacked hard.

Ahman Green didn't do that when he was a freshman.

  5. Murdoch’s New York Post dumps Trump, calling him ‘unworthy to be chief executive again’

The Journal called him “The President Who Stood Still on Jan. 6” and praised Vice President Mike Pence. “Character is revealed in a crisis, and Mr. Pence passed his Jan. 6 trial. Mr. Trump utterly failed his,” the Journal editorial stated.

Trump needs to be in jail for his criminal and treasonous actions.

  6. "The case against Donald Trump in these hearings is not made by witnesses who were his political enemies. It is, instead, a series of confessions by Donald Trump's own appointees, his own friends, his own campaign officials, people who worked for him for years and his own family.  They have come forward and they have told the American people the truth."

All the more clear - Trump is a danger to our society and anyone who supports him for another term is a co-conspirator to whatever damage he does to our democracy.

Rudy, Meadows, Congressional insiders like Jordan, were co-conspirators to a coup led by the fat orange man who should be in an orange jump suit.

    Absolutely agree.

My dad was a D-Day, Omaha Beach survivor.  He helped liberate a Nazi concentration camp.  He never talked much about WWII except to say, "Don't think it can't happen here."  He was absolutely correct.  Those words ring loud and clear in my ears, today.  We came precariously close to losing our democracy to an autocratic, narcissistic, power lusting, egomaniacal despot, Donald Trump.  Trump is like Hitler in many ways, blaming our societal ills on minorities, trashing the free press, lying to the populace, establishing an administration with the only qualification of being loyal to him, creating vengeance and spreading false narratives about opponents, establishing right winged propaganda media outlets, trashing our Constitution to fit his needs, conducting and condoning corrupt political practices, establishing an extreme radicalized cult voting base, the list goes on and on.

And, we are not out out of the woods, yet.  Wake the hell up America.

This isn't just rural Nebraskans, and, let's be clear, here.

Trump appeals to the inner being of many people, and brings that ugly inner being to the surface of those people.  These people are (and have always been) who they are.  Trump just gives them license, part and parcel to act on their inner self because he does the same thing.

I have an uncle that is like that.  During my mother's funeral, I found out he was supposed to be there, but couldn't because he and the family caught COVID.  When I called to check up on him, he immediately regurgitated the whole "aborted baby fetuses" line to me and talked about using Ivermectin and the same treatments that Trump used (or so he was told).

One of the smartest dudes I'd ever known.  I spent 45 minutes in tears trying to convince him to not make me have to bury him the same time as my Mother.  Thankfully, he made it through, but still refuses to get vaccinated....strictly because of Trump.

He's not a rural Nebraskan....he's an older, college educated African-American retired AF veteran male living in Alabama.

This is absolutely true.  Insecure, paranoid, weak, selfish individuals.

  10. "But the hardest thing to do is to convince a person who has been taken for a sucker by a con man to believe that they've been duped like a simpleton."

I have read through some of this thread and this tweet, in bold print above, by Elie Mystal says it all.  I live with these people right here in Nebraska.  There is another chat board where many are prime examples of this sort of thought process.  Maybe some hang out here, I do not know.  It is a pathetic demonstration of Trump sycophant culture.

Well there's more to pro-business than manufacturing. Many companies do move their manufacturing facilities to states and municipalities with cheap housing and labor, and often with incentives from those local governments. But it's always been that way. And of course those companies keep going in that direction until they find an even more robust manufacturing environment in China, Malaysia, India, Pakistan, Vietnam, etc.

But California continues to generate s#!t tons of money for the United States by committing to innovation, intellectual property, and venture capital — a world leader in that regard — and that culture continues to be rooted in the state. Folks in the midwest often forget that California is the #1 agribusiness state in the country by a good margin. and is still the #3 defense contractor. Still plenty of Fortune 500 companies in the state, with more valuation than most countries. There has been a growing U.S. trade imbalance over the years, but California's tech, gaming, entertainment, and intellectual property business have done more than its share keeping us afloat.

It's easy to make fun of California, and frankly the state deserves a lot of it,  but the American economy would be screwed without us.

I agree and don’t even live in the state.
