  1. Anyone recall his top 5 or 3 or whatever it was?

    No order:

    Nebraska

    Kentucky

    Oregon State

    Iowa

    Houston

Said via his twitter, he already called all the coaches yesterday to let them know. So the staff already knows, one way or another.

    No boom?

No, but that would pretty much give it away which probably wouldn't go over well.

    I concur

  3. "We're a big family" "Even if I don't go to Kentucky, we're still a big family"

    Hm.

I like that he is expressing thoughts about NOT being at Kentucky. If you can picture yourself elsewhere, doesn't sound like you're heart is committed..least that's my interpretation.

  4. Naijiel Hale #7 @YoungNateDogg 48m

Committing at the opening on national TV with my bro @OGLeel_2. #Cal #ASU #Arizona #Wazzu

No visit means no commit. Too bad. Hale can ball.

I don't know what I'm more disappointed about, his talent or missing out on the potential 213 innuendos, kid is snooper dooper and he's super duper fly.

  5. How many of you that talk about "commitment" have ever worked at a job you didn't like and secretly went out and pursued another? I know I just did and I didn't run up to my that employer and tell him I was looking else where. Things change and not always for the way we hoped they would! We ourselves have three players ourselves that were committed else where and they are the greatest thing since sliced bread. Had Mr. Walker stayed he too would have been talked about in a much different light! I have not figured out how some can talk so glowingly about a recruit (at this point only a verbal) and in the same breath bash a 181 kid in the very same breathe. It makes sad! I too love our program, but by no means wish ill will to any player we recruit regardless if the come to NU or not. For those of you that feel that way you are a disgrace to the program that you allegedly care so much about!!

So you're saying the money is better at Auburn? Cam would agree ;)

  6. Hard to go to bat for a kid who OV'd without coaches knowledge, reaffirms his commitment, tells coaches in an in-home his 100% committed, and then hosts Auburn coaches the following night. The excuse of "oh he is just a high school kid" is played out way too often. I'll take whoevers word that his offer was pulled, i hope it was, bc THAT was the right thing. This kid played anybody willing to listen to him. It's not about him not working hard, distance, girlfriend, or desire for early playing time. It's about integrity of keeping your word. No matter if you're 18, 26, 42 or 10...one doesn't keep their word, people who seek truth will second guess that person. So, to say it may be harsh to jump on him after it all went down, I can buy that, but to say it's not warranted is denying reality of a fallout. (I do disagree with wishing ill upon someone)

  7. Good luck, kiddo. You'll never be half the man your father is... on or off the field.

Not tryin to start an argument or derail a thread, but the kid had issues and his father sent him to Nebraska thinking that will cure his problems and get him away from trouble. My point, where was his father when he needed him most. But I do agree with, kid luck kiddo, and add, hope he grows up and finds a way back on the field.

  8. Taylor doesn't lower a shoulder but not many quarterbacks do and none are taught to. IMO, if Taylor was anything but a QB, he wouldn't be afraid of contact. He just needs to hold onto the ball. If Drake is as fast as Taylor and has above average football instincts, he would be one hell of a free safety.

  9. I get what his coach is saying but he is 100% sure that he is committed to UW without visiting NU, right? So, really, right now he is 100% committed without being able to compare it to NU (This is the same logic that I use when I mess around on girls, "Babe, how did I know I wanted to be with you when I had not messed around with her, yet?)

Or perhaps his coach has a similar attitude to Terrell Newby's coach?

Let the kid come to this. If the kid came out and said "I'm done, no trips, 100% firm UW," cool and be done. But when the coach comes to this conclusion for him, whose making the decision? Newby has come out and verballed, declared himself no more trips. There is a difference between Newby and Qualls.

I was referencing the comment that Newby's coach made that seemed to indicate the coach was disappointed that Newby chose Nebraska over UCLA. Perhaps Qualls coach is pulling for UW.

  11. I'm pretty sure the coaches know what they are getting into. I understand the coaches advice, but this is Qualls' decision, it's a once in a lifetime opportunity and let the kid figure it out for himself. Seems like a pretty objective approach to keep him UW centered.

Actually seems like the coaches main objective is to get him qualified academically, can't fault him for that

I do understand that, and I agree. Just would rather hear from the horses mouth instead of the coach.

  12. Was he in the group of players that committed all on the same day with Stringfellow?

    Yes.

Qualls orchestrated the verbal commitment of 6 recruits known as St. Tosh Day Massacre. My goodness this could be huge. UW has a ridiculous DL class right now and are in it for Eddie Vanderdoes. This would devastate them and being a translplant of WA, I would be so happy if we flip him.

  13. Keep working hard, Zach! I can see the physical development occurring. When you get to campus work hard and you will succeed!

Sounds like the in-home visit is tomorrow.

I'd say that's a job well done in the girl department.

Awards banquet? Can't be prom already!

anyone else notice the guy wearing shoes that don't quite seem to be dressy enough for what he's wearing?

I'm not disagreeing with your view, but its a different generation man. I wouldn't even try understanding it, you know?

  14. Martin was 6-2 216 coming out of high school. Maybe Banderas is a candidate for eventually moving to DE. But it Gerry is 6-2 218. Maybe he is the next Eric Martin!?!?!?!?

I thought he was more of a cover LB, at least that's what I gathered from the article months back when he and his dad would talk about how Josh would be able to cover him but his dad said Josh would have no shot if the old man was engaged blocking him. But shoot, whatever makes the team better.
