No worries, thought it was Amazing almost perfect direct  correlation between who is playing football and who isn’t. If it needs to be  nixed, So be it.

My thought process is it seems like the leadership of the conference and the political leanings of the leagues geographic footprint seems to be a factor in who is playing and who is not playing. The map was kind of compelling.

The university presidents seem to be mirroring perfectly the political leanings of their respective states. One type of majority in a state consistently doesn’t want to play and the other side when in a majority in a state consistently wants to play. Interesting stuff.

Utah not surprisingly is the outlier in the pac

nebraska and Indians are the outliers in the Big10.  With Iowa, Michigan, Iowa and Wisconsin on the fence.

southeast, big 12 and acc are all perfectly aligned across the board, with just Virginia and Boston college as an outlier

    Agree 1,000 ^

Its amazing how many want to brush the map and this line of thinking under the carpet.

I'm so confused in this conversation.  You just did what you accused me of doing.  Where did I say any of that?

As for your last paragraph.  Did I say healthcare workers shouldn't go to work to help save lives?

Still.....nobody has told me why saying most of these people would have died in the next 12-24 months anyway....is pertinent to the conversation.

We have over 200,000 additional deaths just since the pandemic started and the daily death rate has gone up the last three weeks so it's at a level we haven't seen in 2 months.

I can see that you are very confused in this conversation - probably best if you step away.

I didn't accuse you of saying anything - I just agreed with a portion of your post, stating that it sucks when workers die in the line of duty. I then compared healthcare workers to other front line workers (fireman/police officers) and offered an example that is very extreme of how those deaths could be avoided hoping you didn't think that it was a viable option.

    Then what does this matter?

Why even make that point unless you are saying?...Sorry grandpa.  Thanks for sacrificing.

So, these deaths are happening 12-24 months earlier.

Nobody has told me why this is a relevant point in this conversation.

And...I must add.  There are one hell of a lot of these deaths that are NOT elderly people who are going to die in the next two years.

Nearly 600 healthcare workers have died of COVID since this all started.  These people aren't elderly that would have died next year.  LINK

It sucks that even one healthcare work has died - but this virus happened and not myself or anyone else on this board choose it or wanted it to strart.

Fireman and police officers die daily and again it sucks and was not chosen by us.  Should they step back and let every fire burn itself out.

And that's OK.  Hey Grandpa....you were going to die next year anyway.

This is a pathetic argument that I've seen other places as to why not take it seriously.

And...just because the majority of deaths are in the elderly, doesn't mean there isn't a significant number in the younger population.  And..not all of those were unhealthy individuals.

It also doesn't take into account the long term health affects of many younger people who get it and don't die.

Let me guess you have a career in media.  I said none of that and the picture you painted  reminds me of the level of forde, desmond and wilborn.

Do we know for sure there was a vote? Minnesota President said there wasn't yesterday.

I also stated the above about minny in another thread.  it is amazing how we have decided to believe every "fact" that is posted by some media source or for that matter an X-player from a team that has such strong history with an opponent.

You said Nebraska is in the top portion of the conference in revenue.  We are just outside by my count.  My point is simple, we are on dangerous ground if we think our team is bigger than the conference.  Since we came to this conference, we played exactly one game for a conference championship and I'm pretty sure we all remember how that turned out.  Big game, big stage and nothing but embarrassment to show for it.  Haven't been competitive against the better teams in the conference since.  I'm frustrated.  We, as a fan base, are incredibly proud of our program, it's history and traditions.  But thinking that somehow makes us better or more passionate than other teams' fan bases is silly.  I'm tired of losing to Wisconsin and Iowa.  I want to dominate them.

again this in not how this works.  You have shown another chart that isn't directly relevant to the point.  The $$$ that we get from BTN are tv revenue and your chart isn't about that.

That would be like me stating that of those Big10 teams on that chart NU was the most profitable which is true however doesn't have a single factor in BTN payouts.

NU is banking on their tradition and their plan to have a solid football team going forward.  You do understand that win you buy a stock you win or loss based on what the stock does going forward not past history.

We better slow our roll. Will lose a good chunk of change if we go to the Big 12. Even after absorbing the deadweight of Rutgers and Maryland

Who says that Big12 is our goal.  Our goal may be to play by our terms and enjoy the revenue that we deserve - rather that be with the big12 / sec / or pro minor league.  I don't know what the revenue share will be going forward but if cancelling an entire year of sports doesn't effect that amount I would be surprised.  College football will see big changes over the next 24 months.

Like it or not, we're about as relevant as Rutgers at this point, especially to athletes we're trying to recruit.

Sure we travel well and are still enthusiastic about our team, but it's been a long time since we haven't sucked. To think we've got the type of pull of dictate our future to others is delusional.

that is not how this works - but hey enjoy the rant

Can one of you post the link to this vote tally?  I can't find it.

Also, to the next post, I don't think being independent is anywhere near as rosy as the glasses you are looking at it through.

Minny ad said their was no vote.  She just agreed to the final decision

If NU is able to play some games this fall, it will either look very smart (with no or few COVID cases) or look very dumb (with a COVID outbreak and mass illnesses).

If other conferences play football and NU also plays football then they will look very smart.  Nebraska is committed to testing and if both teams go in clean then they will come out clean.

I think it’s main objective is to see how many season ticket holders aren’t going to games so they can get a better idea of the numbers they are going to be working with.
