  1. The program is dead bro.

    Fire Riley we r screwed

let Riley coach and we are screwed.

The only option I see right now is keep the coach, but hire someone for game management. That way we can fix some of the monkey mistakes we are having. 2nd at that point if we have to fire the zoo crew we can at least show we provided these handicaps with reasonable accomadations.

  2. Benching Tommy would be the worst thing these coaches could do...Tommy can be a good quarterback if you control what he does. We should run. Then, you play action off that or run rollout passes. Occasionally, you go for a bomb. It's really that simple, and it's been said by many people. Also, I think installing the WCO is a bad idea. In arguendo, if one is going to install that type of offense, one should wait until you have a pure passer like O'Brien. With that said, I do think the coaches deserve atleast two to three years to show their worth. Calling for their heads after the first season is crazy and impractical.

This is a sensable statement!! Unlike the sh#t I post!!

  3. TA is 21-59 (35.6%) in conference play. We seem to have sporadic success running the ball. Jano is awesome. The receivers seem more than capable. We do not rotate on the OL. What do you recommend? My opinion is that we have to design the offense around TA's running ability ans scrap the WCO. If we have a mediocre offense we win the last two games easily. If the offense does not improve, we may not win another game this year.

Over 33% check him for steriods!!

  4.

We finish 3-9 there is no way Riley is in Lincoln for another year. That I can tell you. The checkbooks will be out come December.

    BS

The only way I will support the school and staff at this point is if they bring someone else in to do game management. I no longer trust Riley and his monkeys to manage games. I will always support the team, as for the school and staff get with the program.

  5.

It didn't help, but I think the defense allowing Wisconsin to go 40 yards to set up a GW FG was the reason why we lost the game.

But our offense gaining only 13 first downs doesn't help the defense who ultimately see 84 plays and 50 passes.

It's a team game. There is never, regardless of opinion, a "the" reason for a result. Every play gets counted.

I agree Mr 3 and out Armstrong put our defense in a terrible position. We have no depth and we had to rest collins on one of the last drives cause he was gassed. We can't have a qb putting our team in these situation.

  6. in the 1980's. I was going to say something about Riley, but I thought better against it, because he's got bigger things on his mind. Unsolicited by me, he said to me "Hey, I am sorry that Riley isn't doing well for Nebraska. I didn't think it was a good hire at the time, and I don't understand why a program like Nebraska would hire him in the first place. Don't get me wrong, Riley is a nice guy, but he's not a great coach."

We chatted for a couple minutes in the hallway, and then he ended it with "Banker is not a good defensive coordinator. We had been trying to get ride of him for a long time." I just replied "Yeah, I don't know what Banker is trying to do out there."

I just thought this was an interesting perspective. I know this isn't the first time we have heard this chatter from Oregon State fans/alums. This was a guy who played football at Oregon State, so he knows his stuff. It's almost like he felt sorry for me, in that I (as a Husker fan) have to deal with Riley now. The most telling part to me was the way he interjected "He's a nice guy". When we keep on hearing that about Riley, it tells me that they struggle to find other positives about Riley, so they always fall back on "well, he's a nice guy".

I get the feeling that you made this conversation up in your head.

  7.

How many head coaches in college football history have never won less than 9 games in a season?

Answer: 2. Tom Osborne and Bo Pelini

    Keep 'em coming, Radar!

Is winning 9 games all we really want?? Because that was pretty much the roof for Bo even with one of the best defenses in school history with maybe the best defensive player that ever suited up for Nebraska.

9 wins? I would be happy to become bowl eligible this year.

  8. You can't have running back by committee. You need to pick one Newby doesn't look good, I'm not sure why Reiley hasn't figured that out. If I could give Reiley just one piece of advice it would be if you want to make the West Coast Offense work at Nebraska you need to be 60/40 run. The type of players Nebraska can recruit and attract and better suited for that. So that has got to change. I am looking at the recruits right now, and I am not that impressed. The talents alright but its not going to win us conference championships with any type of consistency. Reiley needs to find a balance between what works at Nebraska and his system.

  9. Hopefully someone on here knows enough about schemes that they can maybe shed some light onto this topic. I know some about coverages and schemes. I am watching the defense get beat consistantly through the air. Wouldn't one of the adjustments that would normally be made in a quarters defense is to slide into a 2 read coverage.

  10.

The idea that Shawn Eichorst is a shoe-in for the Wisconsin AD job is a pretty bold assumption to made, and is only done so to cast him in a light of an uninterested person hired only by Harvey Perlman to get rid of Bo.

I asked this question before, but I'll ask it again: Why on Earth would Wisconsin hire Eichorst in light of a potential failed hire here at Nebraska?

Maybe he's doing what Barry says. Its been noted Eichorst went to Barry for some "guidance" before he made the hire.

Master plan know you want the Wisconsin AD job, so to ensure success. Become AD at rival school hire crappy coach, leave rival school become AD at Wisconsin, and enjoy winning.

  11. We aren't going to fire Riley after 1 year. It's a waste of energy to think about it imo. Riley could retire but that would have to be his choice and I doubt he throws in the towel after 1 season.

He's likely getting 3-4 years barring two catastrophic seasons. Hope for the best then evaluate him at that point. If he's not up to snuff then we'll make a change.

It wouldn't matter anyways. May the huskers RIP
