  1. Not seeing anything here. But, usiing the current font is fine, just make it smaller, it doesn't need to be painted on the field for the visually impaired. No reason it has to go from goal line to the out of bounds lines all the way around. I don't mind doing that as it is now because it puts the most amount of color in the endzone. But if the endzone is red, you can make it work.
  2. The reason it works in Indy is because their font has a very high vertical stretching. It would not work at Nebraska because we use a specific block font in which the letters are particularly square-sized, not tall rectangles. Hypothetically, we could shrink it to fit, but then you'd have to shrink the "NEBRASKA" end to match, and it wouldn't take up it's maximum real estate. The font can be thinned out, tweaked, or just changed. It can be made smaller as well. I see no problem with any of this and people who have skill in graphic design would have no problem coming up with something. It doesn't look bad anyhow to have more "real estate" on the Nebraska side anyway:
  3. So like this? Just change HUSKERS to CORNHUSKERS and it's perfect. You obviously have more skills with this stuff than I do. Agreed. You couldn't fit CORNHUSKERS in there while making it look....how should I say, uh, good. I disagree, if you can fit INDIANAPOLIS in an endzone and make it look nice you can certainly fit CORNHUSKERS in. And just as my illustration showed. But don't take my word for it.

  5. Personally I would like to see grass and red endzones with white "CORNHUSKERS" in one end and white "NEBRASKA" in the other. A very crude mockup: Picture the proper font and the B1G logos and N at center field.
  6. Just checked out the Haymarket webcam and it looks like the second tower crane is down at the arena. Also looks extrememly close to being fully enclosed. Things appear to moving along nicely.
  7. That's why I take the pics. I can walk over and see the construction every single day if I want, but I'm no more a fan and no more interested than you folks living 50 to 2,000 miles away. It's a pretty simple service to walk over, take some pics, and post them for folks to see. Glad to have been of service to my fellow Husker fans. I'll take some pics here and there in the next few months, but pretty quickly all the outward, visible progress will be done. I'll continue to post pics of the Arena and environs if people want. It's no trouble. I'd definitely be interested in the arena updates and to see the finished outside structure of the stadium. Pretty soon, there won't be any more updates to see on either except for the other buildings going up around the arena.
  8. We need to expand upon this thought. Already been addressed. Sellouts are not the same as attendance. In other words, there may have been no shows accounting for the empty corners. It may have been late in the game and people had left. Or as in the case with the student section, it may have been that they really squeezed in and that left some open spaces.
  9. Any updates on this? Have the cranes been taken down?
  10. Couple of interior shots of the inside of the arena from Pinnacle Bank Arena's facebook page.
  11. If you look at the size of the tractors in the back, you can tell that it's wider than 2 lanes. It's likely 4 or 2-3 with a turn lane.
  12. The other building is Canopy lofts. Main level retail is the sushi restaurant and Mellow Mushroom (Pizza, pretty good). Great pics knapllc, look forward to getting an in person view next week. They're really moving on the next section of brickwork at the stadium. Took them a long time on the first half.
  13. While not bad on it's own, it doesn't fit any of the current architecture and is very 70's looking. This actually looks like it would fit right in at UW though.
  14. I love this comment on the twitter feed from Jeff Scheer: LMAO. FYI, here is a pic on eomahaforums of the upperstands, I don't want to hork the guy's photo so I will just link it. http://eomahaforums.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=2320&start=80
  15. Thanks knap! Appreciate it. Can't wait to see it in a couple weeks in person.
  16. Just take a look at any modern stadium and you'll see two things, the suites are always lower in the stadium with seating on top, and the top of the stadium is pretty high. I really don't get the constant concern with the height of these seats. They aren't going to be any higher than any of the new pro stadiums out there. Ticket holders in the upper deck of the east stadium will be freezing their azzzzzzzes off when it is 40 degrees and a 20-30 mph NW wind. And, if it snows or rains............................? Doesn't seem to bother fans at pro games. Not sure why it should matter at NU. Been to some freezing cold snowy games at night at Mile High Stadium in the upper bowl and was just fine.

  18. Were you able to get any pics this weekend knapplc or still a bit banged up? Looks like on the Haymarket Webcam that the arena lobby area is getting some windows installed.
  19. I was gonna make an age joke too, but will refrain. Thanks for the pics again! Hope you didn't get banged up too bad.
  20. The arena sits a few yards directly to the west of the Post Office.
