  1. Clemson's reputation was from beating a 8-4 UGA team that lost to Vandy.

Clemson's reputation was from beating a HEALTHY UGA team. They were crushed by injuries this year.

Ohio State would get crushed by FSU or SCar, which are the two teams that beat Clemson. When's the last time Ohio State even played a top 10 team?

I'm not so sure. I think Ohio could go toe to toe with any of those teams but FSU.

  2. I know we are moving to a playoff system but I still think that it should be the 5 conference champions (Screw the makeshift Big east) and the 3 highest ranked non conference champs. Also do the same as the BCS and have no more than 2 reps per conference.

After the conference title games it would look something like this. How can you not get behind a playoff built like this?

    1. Florida State

    8. Oregon or the loser of Pac12 title game

    5. Oklahoma State

    4. Alabama

    3. Auburn

    6. Arizona State/Stanford

    7. Baylor

    2. Ohio State.

I actually really like the idea.

  3. "I'm committed to Nebraska," Clinkscales said. "Actually, during my visit Coach Bo (Pelini) and I sat down and talked and I told him when we sat down that I will be committing. He was excited about it and he walked out of the door and was yelling to everybody, 'he's coming, he's coming here'. It was exciting."

Clinkscales has made it known that Nebraska has been his "dream school" and former Husker defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh is a player he holds in high regard. He also speaks highly of his relationship with NU defensive line coach Rick Kaczenski.

Those factors, plus the overall feeling he had while on his visit contributed to his commitment.

"It was a big factor," Clinkscales said about his affinity for the Huskers and Suh. "I feel like they develop great d-linemen. Plus with Coach Rick (Kaczenski) and the way he coaches those guys up I know he can get me where I need to be.

"I pretty much came down to the decision on my visit. I knew where I wanted to be anyway, but it was kind of like 'this is where I needed to be'. It was the best spot for me."

    This is if you add:

    Clinkscales

    Brian Wallace

    Nick Gates

    Kalen Ballage

    Renell Wren

    Darius Slade

    Byerson Cockrell

This doesn't include the likely 1 other JUCO CB we will need, but none that are currently interested would move us up a spot.

Wallace is out, Wren is looking slimmer, and nobody has really heard anything on Ballage. Remember he did try and visit us but could not because of the fires in Colorado.

Yes, I know. I was just using those "top" targets as examples that it is going to be really difficult to get this class in the top 20. It would be great for us if we were able to get half of those guys.

That would be great! I think we get Clinkscales, Cockerell, and Gates. We could get Slade too.

  6. So are we in a position to take more than one juco CB?

    Yes.

they looking at jucos to start or act as depth? just a little confused at the need for multiple juco db's as i thought we had some good young talent waiting their turn.

You never recruit backups. You always go.out and try to recruit starters.

Exactly. We don't recruit players unless we think they can contribute. Probably the same for everyone.

We have a lot of very good young players on defense everywhere but corner. Boaz Joseph is the only underclassman currently on campus and there are only four CBs total right now for next year - unless CJax gets moved back to CB, which is probably likely.

IMO, they should move Gerry to Safety and switch Jackson back to CB.

  7. 1. Move Els to the proposed Recruiting Coordinator spot. If recruiting is his thing, as they claim, then make it his permanent focus.

    2. RKIII new QB coach...seems to be in the works already.

    3. Prepared statements for press conferences, screw the Q&A...just turns into a monkey sh*t fight anyhow. Want questions? Ask for one on one interviews away from the circus. Obama gets away with it, why can't Bo?

    4. Hire new LB/ST coach who can assist Bo when needed with LBs, but primarily focus on ST. For what Bo expects out of his LBs, they deserve the extra attention.

    5. Full contact in practices. Seems the only practical way to cut down fumbles. Get guys out of the habit of carrying the ball as if they won't be hit. Immediate punishments for turnovers in practice will send the message. Yes, you risk injuries in practice, but it is easier to gameplan around an injury that happens in practice than one in a game.

May not be a bad plan. I dont think everyday would be good idea. Maybe once or twice a week depending on how they are doing. More strip drills need to take place.

  8. He said he was impressed with the hail mary against NW. Kevin tore up his knee midway through his junior year after a rough start and I honestly think it will help nebraska's chances to land him by scaring away michigan. I watched Kevin dominate 17 year olds in Sweden when he was 13 and he may very well be the best player nebraska has a shot to land next year. I really hope we get him to visit and show him the down to earth atmosphere here because his dad asked if he could stay with my family and this guy would fit perfectly with what nebraska is all about.

Could you do a little convincing? :D

  9. I'm to the point now to where I have realized nothing is a guaranteed win. As long as Bo is coach this team will always have turnover issues, will always lose games they shouldn't, and never win a big game when it matters. But, he can turn it around. He needs to let Dobson and Beck go, do more live hitting in practice, and have a clear offensive scheme next year.
