  1. it would appear I have met the required posting guidelines...or the restriction on post count has been lifted :thumbs

I was a bit confused by the author's statement that she was upset it was recommended she leave out any reference to LBGTQ since she is "openly queer" but then later makes reference (twice) to calling her husband...?

and teach has it right...this is probably not the entire populace of Mullen views...just a few outliers

I had to look back to remember, but there is a 235 yard par 3 (from the whites) where you can only see about half the green because of a big hill from the tees.  Everything between you and the tree is crap.

dontcha love it when you get to one of those part 3's...it's like "hmmm, I have one club in my bag that might make it that far...if I nut it.." :bang

I have generally taken the 5 iron, wedge, putt, putt approach and been happy with bogey

Pinstripe bowl vs. Duke... That's basically a 6-6 or 7-5 prediction.

this was my thought as well...that bowl is for 6-6 teams.

what happened to all the love/hype that we have been getting and the 8.5 over/under? the two don't jive :hellloooo

  4. I hover in the 13-14 range. Got under 12 a couple years ago, but slipped above 15 this spring. Golfing for me is more about competing against myself rather than beating anyone else. I have played some courses in Arizona that I thought were beyond my capability, and ended up doing okay. I think picking the correct tees helps, and I have no issue moving up to make the game more enjoyable, even though I am still a couple years from Senior Tee status...

All that being said...I too have issues with the forced carry of a distance that is equal to/greater than what amounts to a damn good drive for an amateur on a good day

It was 1991 vs. Utah State.  I was there.  The student section started making "snakes" out of the plastic cups and they eventually started throwing the cups at each other.

correct...I was in the north stadium during the deluge...I remember my buddy pointing out the benefits of sitting behind a couple of young ladies that had worn white shorts to the game

Speaking of Irish pubs, does anyone have a review of McKinney's in the Haymarket?

Almost went there for lunch this last weekend but didn't since I didn't know anything about it.

McKinneys in Grand Island is the same franchise...great food, some with an Irish influence, and others just good bar food

I appreciate the opportunity that Chad and the owners of Husker Board have given me by reaching out and offering to sell Husker Board to me. As Chad has stated they want to focus more time on their young families. They have built a quality community and I want to keep it intact. We have had conversations in the past about selling/buying the board and this time it seemed like the right time for both of us. After some back and forth negotiating we came to terms and both sides feel that we got a good deal.

There will be some immediate changes and some things will remain the same. For starters this will always be a free to register and post board. There will be advertising on the site to support the site financially and there will be news articles posted from writers at HuskerMax along with the schedule widget. I am not encouraging Husker Board members to join the HuskerMax board and I am not encouraging HuskerMax members to join Husker Board. They are two separate and distinct communities and should remain that way.

The most immediate change will be migrating the site from the current BBS software to Xenforo which will happen before the first game this Saturday against South Alabama. I have spoken to Mavric and will be speaking to other current moderators and get their input and ask them to continue supporting the board with their moderating. I look forward to continue to build on what Chad's group has created for the past 16 years and make it a top notch Husker online community for years to come.

Would like to meet posters here in person and you are welcome to stop by and say hello at Marlin's tailgate at the corner of 8th and N this Saturday. I will be there with Rich Glover before and after the game. If you plan on stopping by please reply to this thread with the number of people so Marlin can have enough food and drink available. There is no charge and a donation jar to help Marlin pay for food and drink will be available.
