If someone is under the impression that this is a "white" cop issue, they are sadly mistaken. I'm not sure why you think it's being painted that way. I can think of several situations over the last 10 years where the cop in question was black or a minority.
These are the cops who were involved with the Freddie Gray incident.
See anything interesting?
Does this mean that what happened to Freddie Gray was perfectly fine? Nobody should be upset or protest against it?

I hope so, since as it is now, people in low pop areas are overrepresented in every area of national politics.
...and people in low population (rural) areas feel that urban concentration (high density) areas don't represent their views...
but, I was wondering whether it would start a National effort to repeal/reform the electoral college?

What are the feelings about candidates Harris/Warren/Castro speaking in favor of reparations for slavery? This stance marks a shift from past election cycles when it has come up...

I've yet to see a billionaire that appears to understand what is happening to the middle class. No matter the background and family history.

I took the istandwith quiz and while I cannot figure out how to link it, I ended up a 74% match with John Delaney, and 72% with Andrew Yang...two individuals I am not familiar with.
Needless to say, I will do more research into both...

And while he is socially liberal, he's fiscally conservative. And there doesn't appear to be many people who actually fall into that group if you look at polling data:

I did watch. I came away feeling better about my decision to support her.
Shes not selling a pipe dream. Which I like. I don’t believe in free college for all. And she’s not up there promising it. She knows that something has to be done about healthcare but she’s not pushing a magic pill like some other candidates that we will just tax the rich for everything and we will be okay.
She likes the ideas in the Green New Deal but doesn’t feel 10 years is an attainable goal for the whole thing.
This, to me, is the true honest candidate. Her ideas will appeal to moderates and likely some conservatives where people like Warren and Sanders will not because they go too far to the left.
This gives me someone to watch...I will wait to see if your assessment holds, but (said in best Morgan Freeman voice)... "I hope..."

yes, Cliff....that's what I took as their intended message as well

hey Schriz- that article talks in circles...I get what the premise was but when you read it, and look at the diagram, it describes...at least what appears to me... to be the exact opposite of what they are insinuating.

If someone believes a wall is a waste of money and funds would be better spent elsewhere, wouldn't spending Chapo's money still be a waste and more responsibly spent elsewhere?
but if someone believes the wall would be beneficial, but not the appropriate way to spend current budget... prefer to spend El Chapo's seized funds for the wall...and spend current budget funds for more appropriate line items...?

I still eat poultry and fish. Pork has been limited significantly since it is considered a red meat.
I started noticing whenever I consumed beef or other types of red meat like bison, elk, deer, etc, I would get extremely sick.
Pork doesnt have the same effect but I decided to curb it anyhow.
Now I don’t get sick anymore and I’ve been in the best shape since my teens-early 20’s.
thanks, good deal

I haven’t consumed beef in over a year. Best health decision I ever made.
and...what specifically did not eating beef do to improve your health? (actual inquiry for my own knowledge)

The assumption I made was due to you horribly misinterpreting my posts.
I’m not sure how you can read this and then reply the way you did: “In this example it’s basically just supply and demand, so it makes sense. The former is creating something more people want.“
In the above I’m saying it makes more sense to pay video game creators more than painters because more people value video games over paintings. Yet you and the 3 people who liked your reply took that, ignored it, and came to the wrong conclusion.
I’m talking about how society values people. I didn’t say how society should value people except to say that I don’t think one person is worth 365x more than any other person.
my original comment, and stance, is based on the fact that you said no one should make 365 times more than someone else. I asked a legitimate question; "are they doing the same job?" because if your answer is yes they are, then your original view is correct, they should make roughly the same for performing the same job. But your assertion seems to be that because society values LeBron James to the tune of $39mil a year that we should somehow take money from him to compensate the (also well paid in this scenario) an Information Technology Systems Manger who makes $106k per year.
My point is that some people ARE valued/compensated more than others based upon their value, whether it is perceived or realized

Money is how society places value on people. I’m talking in general here. It doesn’t mean you as an individual think one person is better than another because they are paid more. But we (collectively) have decided that. We’ve decided people who program video games are worth more than most painters. Even if the latter might be more talented. In this example it’s basically just supply and demand, so it makes sense. The former is creating something more people want. On the other hand I work on policy to try to increase a financial company’s profits. In reality I’m probably only making like 20 people in the universe happy but making more than most artists.
This is a way I started thinking about it recently. In an age where there are millions of people employed just to make the wealthy more wealthy, not because they are benefitting society in any way, there needs to be something that prevents poverty as that gap gets bigger and bigger. Especially when the people in or close to poverty might be working 40 hours and be doing something that helps a larger # of people.
Not relevant. There is no one debating that some people should get paid a lot more than others.
that seems to be exactly what you are debating...

When someone is making 365x as much as another person making $13/hour, there should be course correction in how we place value on people.

Thoughts and prayers at penn state.
just to be clear, not on campus:
Penn State issued the following statement Friday morning:
The safety of our students is a top priority at Penn State. Our thoughts are with those in the State College community impacted by this tragedy. State College Police responded to the shooting in the borough last night as it was not on Penn State's campus. The alert system includes incidents that are within Clery-reportable locations. Nevertheless, we understand our community concerns and the University will continue to review processes. -

Well, how they got here is of critical importance in this debate.
sorry...it said that 600,000 of the 700,000 here on temporary worker visas overstayed ... roughly 85%

We have a winner!!!
About 700,000 travelers to the United States overstayed their visas in fiscal 2017, the most recent year for which the Department of Homeland Security has published figures. DHS estimated that, as of Sept. 30, 2017, the end of that fiscal year, more than 600,000 of those travelers were still in the U.S.
600,000 in ONE YEAR is a lot/too many imo no matter how they actually got here

So we know we will not get 100% security of the border with a wall. Can we all agree on that?
McAllen, TX-Where Ortiz is in charge--100 people cross the border
6 cross the border where there is prohibitive fencing and then are apprehended-The fence and the CBP did a good job
94 cross where there is NO Fencing and are apprehended by the CBP-The CBP did a good job.
So I still don't see the logic of needing to spend not just $5B for a wall. Because it is going to be more than that. But for what? An extra 2-3 apprehensions? Maybe?
you are assuming that all who attempted to cross were apprehended...what about the hypothetical other 100 that were not caught?
