I was wrong. I predicted they'd announce it yesterday, then have him stand up and wave at the watch party.
-
Hopefully we'll still get Fleming and Danny sticks around.
-
On3 says he's watching Husker wrestling at the Bob. Maybe he's here to go out for the wrestling team?
-
It seems like Raiola wants to start....why else would McCord be worried about him? I hope that is the plan.

I meant keeping Dylan updates on his recruiting profile thread...where they should be lol.
That's the last update you'll need. Big recruits or coaches always get announced then show up at some event involving another Husker sport.
Pelini and the kids were on the grass berm at a baseball game when he got hired back. The ground must've been damp and it was making him itch, so he kept scratching and scratching.....then Roseanne Roseanna-Danna finally yelled, "HEY BO! QUIT DIGGING AT YOUR BUTT! YOU'RE MAKING US SICK!"
Hopefully nothing like that happens with Dylan, Don and Dom. -

Would be cool if we only had one thread to look at for DR updates:)
They’ll announce it Saturday then he’ll be at the volleyball watch party

Should the University consider putting out protection orders on helicopter dads?

I agree. I’m sorry I even posted that we told him no over $2M. With additional info it sounds like it had more to do with being able to tell Raiola he would have a shot at playing in 24 and that required not guaranteeing McCord being #1. The money may have been somewhat secondary as it sounds like we may have had to boost the NIL for Raiola as well.
So I have no idea if McCord is worth $2M or not but that’s pretty much a moot point since apparently we are trying to lock up the QB position for multiple years rather than just 2024.
McCord actually said himself that the money was a problem.I agree though that there’s more to it because he didn’t like them talking to Raiola and maybe that’s why the money wasn’t there.
He’d have two years left to play if helicopter dad hadn’t got on the red phone and made sure he played an unnecessary game just to keep Ewers off the field.

Is Missouri still an option?
Everything’s an option. I misheard that DK was visiting Penn State which is a beautiful area… didn’t think we’d ever see him again. I’d go to Columbia over Lansing any day
-
Thought I heard McCord said he’s worth $2 million but other estimates were like 1.3 on a good day. If he sticks to that, he and helicopter dad might find themselves living on a steady diet of government cheese and bullhead filets while they’re living in a van down by the river.
I suppose he could declare for the draft but I don’t know what other school is paying him that.

Don’t know if this was announced here…Aidan Chiles has committed to Michigan State. If I’m Danny I’m not going there now.

Upgrading Haarberg means moving him to another position where his athleticism could potentially make an NFL roster, not keeping him at QB where he has no future.
Or never, if you're Iowa.

I think a good QB coach would love to work with a gamer like him who has a strong arm but throws wonky sidearm passes

I would agree with you, but Haarberg throw motion is horrible.
This started as discussing keeping reliable backups and helping them improve, then a rabid Husker mob took over and started comparing backups to Joe Montana… like they’ve done for 20 years.

We absolutely know what Haarberg's ability is. Is putting a square peg in a round hole a better metaphor for you? Are you telling me you would rather have Haarberg over a 5 star?
That’s a better metaphor but I disagree with you. You and we do not know that.

McCord not coming, Kaelin prob leaving. Normally that would indicate DR is coming here…that said I’m not feeling great about how wishy washy this kid has been. If he decides to change his mind again, we could really be up the river without a paddle. Hopefully he commits and pulls us out of 20 years of mediocrity but, come on man, we’re Nebraska, optimism is synonymous with insanity at this point.
McCord didn’t say he’s not coming….he just walked out of the dealership

The sun could fall out the sky also! You cannot make QB's out of some people that ARE NOT QB's. I want guys like Haarberg on the team, 100%, but at other positions.
That’s a really bad metaphor. You don’t know what his ability is. And Purdy has improved a lot. They can both be coached up.

I was really convinced that DR and KM were headed to Nebraska. And I was building some hope for the future. Even thought DK might stay in the long term and we would have three guys who are viable for this year and DR really taking the reigns in 2025. With KM out and DK leaning out the door, I am feeling what others have noted in this thread. We might not get any. And then take a QB out of the portal that's left over and then struggle and ... rinse, repeat.
You could get a 5 star and he could get injured the first game…we need to keep upgrading our loyal guys like Haarberg no matter what some internet know it all says about them.

When it comes to dealing with creepy helicopter dads I trust Coach Rhule. I bet he’s been to this rodeo a couple times.

I think Haarberg will stay our Berringer, possibly play another position part time, come in on short yardage runs or something.
This is pure speculation and rumormongering.

Ah yeah, that must be why the Raiola family got a home down in Buford, Georgia!
I mean why else would anyone subscribe to Playboy in this day and age? It's the 21st century now, you can just pull out your phone and look at any kind of pr0n you like...
Maybe they went hunting in the north Georgia woods and now they want to get out of there?

I’d be happy to smoke a bowl after the way this season went but I can’t afford to fail a drug test.

Has anyone heard about Kyle McCord yet? I hear he’s pretty good. Did anyone see him chowing down on a Runza? I bet the help was like “Hey Kyle, throw that Runza into this bag!”
