I disagree.  I think Dom has been a good father in this and let him make his own decisions and that's how he ended up at GA.  And, I suspect Dom told him he is fine with either school.

I would characterize him as a good father who thinks his son is listening to the wrong people…..and wants him here.

I wonder if Dylan hasn't deep down felt like Nebraska was "home" during this entire progress, but OSU and UGA were better programs so he listened to some of the people around him pushing him to go to those other places, and eventually he just had an open conversation with those important to him and told them how at heart he wanted to be a Cornhusker like his dad and uncle.

I think he knows he’s just another number on the roster at those schools and they’ll continue to bring in 5 star QBs who will be breathing down his neck.

  3. What changed? Maybe they weren’t willing to offer Raiola what he wanted when he was here, then the donors posse’d up after being told what it would cost to get a top QB, and instead of putting a new powder room in the stadium they decided the money would be better spent getting a QB who could compete with the Big Ten owners Michigan and Ohio State, then word got to Raiola’s dad somehow and now mysteriously he’s interested again.

    Just speculation.

I hope we don’t screw up playing mind games with this indecisive kid and miss out on a good QB.

I don't think DL will care how much he suggests or hints things to them, they'll still sack him.

I looked it up...I guess he's evasive and allusive. He'll suggest that he's going to Malachi Coleman, but he's really going to Julian Fleming.

Could be wrong but Thompson was hurt bc he couldn’t run well, and got pummeled in the pocket game after game. McCord has -77 yds rushing. I don’t want a duel threat, but someone with a little escapability, especially behind a suspect line that is still trying to get better. I also like the idea of having a guy whom you can occasionally call a qb draw with or that can boot or roll out of pocket to put the defense in conflict situations.

Watch McCord, he’s allusive and still is able to see the field…. Unlike a bunch of our recent QBs who look for two seconds then run for their life.

https://www.on3.com/transfer-portal/news/top-10-quarterbacks-transfer-portal-ncaa-updated-cam-ward-dante-moore-will-howard/ On3 top 10 updated transfer portal qb list.  Nebraska coaches have reached out to the first, third and eighth ranked qb.  Ward is first, Howard is third, and McCord is eighth.  I think a lot of analyst are ranking McCord low bc they expected more from him with the weapons he had.  He went 11-1.  It shouldn't have been all on him bc Ohio State lost to Michigan.  They didn't run the ball well either that game.  Ohio State and all the other dominant teams take a 11-1 record for granted.  Nebraskan's would be thrilled to go 11-1 and play in the Cotton Bowl.  Ryan Day is apparently on the hot seat bc he has lost to Michigan three times in a row and hasn't won a National Championship.  Win a Championship or we will find someone who will type mentality Ohio State has.

On3's ratings seem suspect to me and don't really measure the needs of a particular team. There are different ratings everywhere you look...equally suspect. I'll go with the proven guy with the strong accurate arm, nice touch, and experience with the conference.

I don't think it was to appease the fans. It was realizing our QB room would throw close to 30 INTs if we threw the ball the normal amount, and that involving them in the run game played best to their strengths. But I agree the goal for next year is making sure we have someone who can throw the ball at a reasonably high level.

I'm talking about using the fullback once in a blue moon, running the saddest option ever, but continually trying a sorry looking zone read. It was mostly an uncoordinated mess.

Honest question/observation.  I wonder what type of offense we are planning to use next year.  (Don't want another discussion of scheme/identity).  Basically a dual threat QB or more "traditional" passing QB.   I think by default and circumstances we ran the QB A LOT. Some by design and necessity.  BUT, it looks like we are interviewing QB's with a diverse skill sets.  Some appear to be true "traditional" passing QB's.  Other more dual threat.  I am ASSuming that looking at more traditional QB's we are possibly going away from the "running qb", but then Howard is being looked at.  More dual threat guy.  Do we simply run a style based upon the QB?  Can our current O do just as well in one vs the other.

My .02 is that Satt has a more pro style traditional bent, so I am guessing we might be leaning that way to get an O he "wants" or is more comfortable with.  Just seems we are looking for QB's not like our current 3.

We all know that the talk about going back to 90's running was just a gimmick to appease the fans. If we get McCord we'll most likely do what all the top teams are doing. No way we minimize his arm talent just to showcase the most pathetic running game we've seen in a while.
Edit: Going along with the 'We're the old timey Huskers' script and trying to be the jack of all trades Alf and Ralph Deck Builders is making Satterfield look confused and indecisive. He needs to call what he calls best and turn off the outside interference.

He doesn’t realize Will Howard had as good or better stats than Cam Ward if you normalize for pass attempts :dunno

I've seen videos of their styles and if we get Big Will to sign with us I'll be fine with that. I don't think Ward is interested in us, but I'd prefer McCord because of his patience, field vision, and overall passing ability. I don't want a running QB who might get injured in game 3...we have RBs for running.

Edit: I also believe getting a great passer like McCord will make it easy to bring in top receivers.

This team has no team pride.  All they want to do is score. They get bumped a few times & they quit.  No toughness.  Allick is a big disappointment.  His def. & rebounding is somewhere else.

Tominaga doesn't have what it takes....questionable defense, can't create, needs to be wide open to shoot. He either needs to show he can compete with real competition or be used as a sixth or seventh man. At his height he should be our point and distributing the ball, but he usually just looks to shoot it himself every time. He made zero FGs against mighty Minnesota. NBA? I don't think so.

Have to admit, my confidence in this team was shaken with the last game.  We've had some bad basketball over the years.  But, It has been a long time since I've seen the team play that bad.

I hope Fred has done a very good job coaching since that game to get them back on track.

Hard to explain the lousy shooting against Creighton when they couldn't miss against CS Fullerton. As usual, Minnesota has plenty of size.

If I'm ordering the QBs, I'm going Howard, McCord, Sharpen then Leavitt. McCord is the least mobile of the four, but he's got the best combo of arm talent and eligibility remaining.

Since we're not going after Ward, I like McCord's accuracy and touch. Howard is like a bigger and improved Haarberg, but I've seen enough of injured running QBs. Howard is not as accurate a passer either.
