you will find out sometime after this post who it is!5 to play 4
That eliminates all JUCO guys. It better not be someone like Boaz Joseph. Not that I don't like him, he just wouldn't make me very happy. Very happy would be Priest, Newby, Jojo, Hunt, and maybe Knevel. Is it one of those 5?
You will find out right after someone annonces and Hedley says that was the same info he had. This whole thread is a joke.

"There are big things brewing in North stadium on the recruiting front and staff front. "
I dont think anyone here is asking him to name his source specifically. This is the typical vauge statement we hear every single year between our last game and the bowl game. Staff changes, recruiting surprises blah blah blah. Guess what? We have 15 commits and we are going to take 23-25 ...yep looks to me like we are going to get some more recruits in the next few months. What a joke.
Atleast he went out on a limb and said today or the end of the week. When it doesnt happen for a week or two, he can always say he chose to wait to make it public until after the CCG, and never be wrong.
Prepare to be happy, were going to sign a whole new class come Feb. My inside sources from a premium site say we already have 15 that are waiting to sign on the dotted line.
+1 to you. Anyone that wants to make vague statements just to create a bunch of comments should have their thread locked. I also like how they won't tell you who they hear is going to commit just so if something does happen they can say, "see, I told you." Not cool.

sorry speed. My reply wasn't questioning fowlers insights. It was in response to Hedleys response to Fowler.Basically Fowler is saing he likes the policy Bo has where he tells visitors to go home and discuss hings with friends and loved ones before making a decision. More times, than not if a kid makes an emotional commitment while on a visit i doesn't stick in the end and he follows his heart. I happen to also agree with this policy, along with if you are truely commited you DO NOT take other visits.
I follow and take seriously anything Fowler posts in the recruiting forums. As I do with anything you post.
The fact that this guys starts a thread in the recruiting forum just to dick everyone around is ridiculous. Then to butt heads with fowler about recruiting is insane!
Sorry don't know of any of fowlers or EZ E sources so I take what I am told etc do my best to connect dots and see what there is. I happen to disagree with the policy of going home and thinking about it...so do successful salesmen and Nick Saban and Urban Meyer are also against it.
This is like the 3rd or 4th post in the last day or 2 where you have made statements that piss everyone off and then ask them to be civil to you. This has to be a record.

Cal's coach fired...that can only help
Wow, hadn't seen that yet. Tedford is a good coach he'll catch on somewhere pretty quick, but I think that will definitely make kids considering Cal open things back up. Who can we steal?
The only guy we offered was LB Victor Egu. They do have an OL that is a 4 Star as well. They only had 13 commits to date.

So Maryland and Rutgers are on board. I don't think Delany stops at 14. Question is, who do you get? Here are a couple of scenarios that I see happening.
Louisville: Big East, likely candidate because it wants out of the Big East so bad and it expands somewhat into the South. Not a home run but still viable. Borders 3 B1G states.
Boston College: ACC, if Maryland can negotiate out of the $50M buyout, Delany could start looking at Boston TV's. Plus with the start of the B1G hockey conference they would be a good addition.
UConn: Big East, Has something to offer for a few sports. Will be one of the few football schools left there. Could solidify the NE area of the country.
Virginia: ACC, See Boston College. Also if the SEC comes after Clemson, FSU or Miami, They may want to look elswhere. Plus the state of Virginia is growing in population.
Virginia Tech: ACC, Same as BC and Virginia
Pittsburgh: ACC, May rethink the move to the ACC if that conference starts to get poached and it locks up Pennsylvania TV's
Syracuse: ACC, Same as Pitt and could get more NY TV
Cincinnatti: Big East, Same as Louisville
Iowa State: Big XII, Geographically fits but does not get more TV's or traditional power in anything
Kansas/K-State: Big XII, Good for basketball and somewhat football. Might get the KC and St Louis TV's
Notre Dame: Could rethink ACC alliance if ACC gets poached too badly. Probably not going to happen.
Anyway, just looking at possibilities. I don't really care where they expand as long as the Huskers are winning.

"East"
Maryland
Rutgers
Penn St
Ohio St
Indiana
Purdue
Michigan St
"West"
Northwestern
Illinois
Iowa
Wisconsin
Minnesota
Michigan
Nebraska
Keep the protected game. Plus 2 additional non-divisional games. Go get Louisville and UConn while we are at it.

I don;t think we back off any of them until the 2nd slot is filled. I know we want a big and small back but I am happy with a combination of any 2 RB's we are looking at because you just never know what they will turn into.
-
Although I understand what he is doing, I wish he would annonce sooner. For some reason I feel that if he were to pick us it would have quite a trickle down effect for us getting a few others to make the jump too. Oh well. Good luck and please pick the Huskers
-
Take all of them if they all want to commit. We are going to need a lot of big bodies in the trenches if we are going to hang with Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio State, etc. for the long run.
-
I always thought that if the B1G was going to expand that they might target stronger basketball schools. Louisville, Kansas, K-State, UConn. There is not much left for football. The ACC has poached the Big East so much that it is basically the Big East. Sports Illustrated had a good article on this topic this morning. The founder of Under Armor just sold a bunch of stock rumored to be in the vicinity of the same price as the ACC buyout. Also, Rutgers games get shown on the YES network which is owned in part by NewsCorp which has a stake in the BTN.
If this comes to truth, all I ask is that the divisions get aligned in a way that gets us versus Wisconsin every year. Maybe move MSU to the Leaders and keep Michigan in the Legends along with Illinois. That would be good with me.
I say bring on any team that is looking to move if they are Ina big TV market. It will only help recruiting.
Legends:
Illinois
Iowa
Michigan
Minnesota
Nebraska
Northwestern
Wisconsin
Leaders:
Indiana
Maryland
Michigan State
Purdue
Penn State
Ohio State
Rutgers
I like this, but I might be the only one

This is a great pick up. Welcomed addition to this class

247 is saying another DT named Ben Bradley also from Hutchinson CC is coming for a visit with Johnson. Anything worth noting about this DT?
-
247 is reporting it in the twitter mentions but when you click on the link it goes to the BRR on Scout. Not sure if that makes a difference.

At the risk of offening anyone, why do we care? Did he say he was interested in us or something? Sounds like he is a lock for the SEC or ACC. Again, just wondering why we are bringing up this thread.
Because it is a recruiting thread and there is information out pertaining to the kid this thread is about. I know we don't have a chance with him but if thats how this board works why did it even get made in the first place?
I assume that the thread was made when we, like every school in the country, offered him a scholarship. Once it was evident that we did not stand a chance I figure these go into an archive to not be read again.
-
I don't think we would turn any high quality DT down until we had 4 signed. Personally I like this guy better than Johnson.
Because he has 2 good knees instead of one? Johnson is every bit as good or better than this guy. Not to take anything away from him but these 2 are big gets no matter where they go.

I don't remember him getting injured last year. He had 1400 yards and was an All B1G RB. As for this year, he got hurt on his 3rd carry of the 1st game of the season so I am not sure where the "rotation" would come into play. He reinjured it against Ohio St and Northwesern and Abdullah has stepped up in a big way and Cross and Heard have contributed nicely. I have faith in the coaches ability to recognize the need to put in a player when it is their time. Cross is only a freshman and Heard was injured this last game. By the end of the year, it will all work out.
-
So his twitter feed said that Nebraska was recruiting a Christian Bailey. Maybe I missed it but I was unaware of anyone of this name. Is there anything on this mysterious recruit?
-
I think most of the time people say it's doghouse related there is almost always another reason. I used to believe in the doghouse, but I have really learned over the last couple years that kids get hurt and Bo just doesn't like to talk about who is hurt and why. I'm not sure if this is a good thing or not. It's great for privacy for the players and gameplanning, but it can paint a picture of not letting kids play which can turn recruits off. When in actuality, Bo is probably protecting the players who are injured and being there for them which recruits would love to see.
Once again, every program holds injuries close to the vest and it doesn't affect recruiting in othe major programs. I guess we are cursed that if we do the same thing, we lose recruits. C'mon
-
Not seeing Heard or much of Cross also sends kinda a bad message to recruits. Basically, it implies that if you're not the #1 guy (and you (the recruit) won't be for at least 2 more years) you're getting roughly a touch-a-game. Would you want to enter that kind of situation as a stud HS back?
That is the situation at almost any big program. U$C has verbals from 2 of the top 3 RB's for 2013 and they have Silas Redd for another year and they signed 2 in 2011. There is bound to be competition everywhere. Alabama reloads the stable every year and those RB's don't seem to mind.
-
Sure hope that if this is a personality/ fitting in thing that the coaches are right. We are not very deep right now on the front 4 and need every warm body we can sign
-
After everything he has done to get to this point, this is concerning. Wonder if the coaches were going to ask him to play a position he was no longer comfortable with

I think we'll see KSU move to #2 with ND #3
I would love to see a ND v Bama NC game with those 2 defenses. I would also love to see what Bill Snyder could draw up offensively against Bama's D. I don't think Oregon would stand a chance. Would like to see KSU or ND in that game against Bama.

This is the MOST pitiful performance I've seen in ages!! This clown bellomy ought not even be on the field, much less be the Michigan backup QB!! What a pathetic joke! hoke is someone I've always suspected as being retarded, but now I know for sure! Devon Gardner is the backup QB that should be in there, not this clown from Texas!!
Pitiful! Absolutely pathetic!!!!!!!
If Denard stays in, we lose.
I don't think so. He was being contained....
I agree. We held his offense to 6 and Bellomy's to 3. I think the game might have been closer but the Husker D was holding tight.
