    I don't think sending the video back to the person qualifies as "revenge porn" because it is still private. Even if he's charged, the prosecution still has to meet each element of the crime which I don't think they will be able to do.

    The legal definition of nonconsensual pornography

    Under Penal Code 647(j)(4) PC, the legal definition of revenge porn/nonconsensual pornography is as follows:

    1. You have an image of the intimate body part of another identifiable person, or an image of that person engaged in sexual intercourse, sodomy, oral copulation or masturbation;
    2. You intentionally distribute that image;
    3. There was an understanding between you and that person that the image would remain private;
    4. You know or should know that the distribution of the image will cause the person serious emotional distress; and
    5. The person depicted suffers serious emotional distress.5

    So, if, in his mind, this was a "you cheated on me, leave me alone" situation, what do you think should be done?

    And if the gender roles were reversed, what would your opinion be?

    Let's put all legal issues aside.  At the very minimum, if I were the coach, half a season suspension.

    If the roles were reversed, id the female an athlete at a university?  If yes, the same as the football player.  If no, then I'm not sure.  The fact is the players have a code and rules they must abide by.

    You think he thought it was sexual assault?

    No.  I don't believe he did.  There is no way he could have at that time.  I probably didn't type that correctly.

    I do believe he sent that video to her as a way to shame her for wronging him or perceived cheating or something like that.

    Where did his lawyers admit to it? I dont recall the statement including the line of Mo sent the video to the girl? Did a new update come out that I missed?

    They said that it was an incident involving an inappropriate cell phone video.  They, rightfully so, deny that Maurice sent the video to re-victimize the girl as it pertains to possible sexual assault charges.  Because there is no doubt in my mind that Maurice knew or thought it was a sexual assault.

    They aren't denying that he sent her the video with the "Remember this hoe" phrase.

    Was listening to NPR this afternoon and the Mayor was saying that El Paso is actually the safest city in the nation with a population over 500k. He also stated that it had very little to do with any border protections and more to do with community policing.

    Amazing isn't it?  If a community takes accountability of their town, good things can happen.

    I don't believe that statement in regards to your posts on this board defending Mike Riley and seeming to bring down Frost.

    You do realize that Mike Riley had 4 players from OSU physically rape a woman, and he gave them a 1 game suspension right? For "making a bad choice"

    I can't help you believe things.  And I'm not sure what your second comment has to do with anything regarding Nebraska.

    you believe this because this is what the girl and mother said....again we dont know if any of this is factual yet. I have a hard time believing the school and the parents a few years ago decided that the "rape" wasnt worth moving forward with. You can believe one side of the story without hearing the  other side if you want I suppose.

    I'm not talking about the alleged assault.  I'm talking about the video that was sent from Washington to the girl.  That is not in dispute at this point.  Even Washington's lawyers don't dispute it was sent.

    We get it. You don't like Scott Frost and would rather still have Mike Riley. You have had this defensive stance since the firing/hiring.

    I didn't like Mike Riley and I do like Scott Frost.  What I don't like is people thinking he is a deity and can do no wrong.

    What is she a victim of?

    I'll take it that you are referring to my post.  In which case I am talking about ANY female being victimized.  Not just the one in question.

    And if you want to discuss what the girl involved in the MW situation is a victim of, it's revenge porn.  MW kept and sent video of a 15 year old girl in order to harm her.

    How about you dispense with the notion that a coach trying to recruit players of high character and achieving that 100% of the time is realistic. You're acting like Frost knew about this before bringing MW on board. He didn't. You seem to think an allegation is enough to prove something about MoWa and Frost. It isn't. You seem to feel an allegation is all that should be required for kicking a player off the team. Thankfully you're wrong and not in charge of anything other than your constant pissing and moaning on your keyboard and staying in the saddle of that high horse.

    I literally have zero notion that a coach can do that 100% of the time.  But go back and look at people on here that do.  Claiming he's "doing it the right way, etc"  I think that is where you will find your proverbial high horse.

    So basically people are stupid for not realizing that one arbitrarily-drawn line must not be crossed and they must accept that the program will have to dabble past that line in order to find significant success but only up to the point where we come up against some other arbitrarily-drawn line and that line should be considered an absolute that can't be crossed for any reason.

    Got it.

    If you think victimizing females is just an arbitrary line not to be crossed that says more about you than me.

    Am I remembering this wrong or aren't you the "If Frost really wants to get us back to the top he's going to have to compromise some of his morals" or something like that?

    Sounds like something I would say.  And that is the point I'm trying to make.  People on here that want to champion Frost as someone that is only going to recruit guys with high character need to stop thinking that way.  Because he's going to do what is necessary to win.

    But compromising his morals would be more broad than just the character of players.

    I will say one thing though--I don't have any tolerance for players that do things towards girls or women.

    @StPaulHusker If you had to guess, how many guys on Nebraska's roster would fit the description of "low character" for doing things with the same or similar intent as Washington is alleged to have done in this instance?

    Could be all of them.  Could be none of them.  But if that is the hill you want to die on, then maybe we can dispense with notion Frost is only recruiting players of high character.

  14. Has this been covered?  Came out about 20 minutes ago

    https://chicago.suntimes.com/sports/nebraska-maurice-washington-charged-assault-video/

    "Hamilton said she decided to file charges Dec. 17 and is now waiting for a judge to sign a warrant for Washington’s arrest. She said it typically takes two or three months for a warrant to be signed after charges of this type are filed. Once a warrant is signed, Washington would face extradition from Nebraska or he could return to California on his own and surrender to authorities."

    My post wasn't just directed at you.  It was directed also at people who want him kicked off now with what we know.  I'm interested in their opinions.

    Is, in your opinion, Maurice Washington a person/player of high character?

  16. 19 minutes ago, JJ Husker said:

    Sure, take a logical wait and see approach on this issue but rush to judgement on the actions of a teenager who has not yet been charged or found guilty of anything. Seems consistent.

    I'm not taking a wait and see approach to the funding.  I think it's great what they managed.  I'm saying it's pointless for Democrats to claim any sort of victory if Trump is a bonehead again.

    My judgement of Washington is based solely on his shaming the girl with the video.  He doesn't have to be charged or found guilty in a court of law for me to have that opinion.
