  1. I actually do think this game does have importance going forth for Nebraska's future. A loss just stamps us further as irrelevant and a mediocre program. It will greatly affect Bo's standing looking into the future. Sure we can still change that perception but at this moment a loss would solidify that thought to many nationally. A win moves us forward out of our slump and likely puts a big game win feather in Bo's cap. Nebraska and Bo dearly needs this win in the worst way IMO!

  2. I say this not in the sense of the typical Bo job security banter but in winning the Legends division and a shot to go to the Rose.

We beat Michigan, we control our destiny. Win out and it doesn't matter what Michigan does. We would have the tie-breaker and they still have tOSU left on their schedule. A loss to Michigan really puts us behind the 8-ball.

I know it will be tough to win out to be 10-2 but IMO if we beat Michigan, 9-3 is the worst we can do to win the Legends.

So would you say this IS the must win ball game of the year?

  3. I'll say this, if we end the season at 9-3 and with the schedule we have next year.... we will get a fair amount of pub as National Title contenders.

I admit to being harsh on Bo at times but if he can sure up the defense and continue to upgrade the talent on that side of the ball through recruiting and redshirts, we stand a chance.

  4. I know some get tired of it but look at Kansas State. They don't make the stupid pentalies or commit turnovers. They plain and simple don't beat themselves. That is what gets us in trouble, we end up beating ourselves. Just take care of the little things and the wins will be pouring in.

  5. Tom Osborne's offense may not be ran but his philosophy is still alive. Kansas State, Alabama, LSU, Stanford, Wisconsin, Ohio State, Iowa, etc all believe in the philosophy of being more physical than your opponent and it all starts upfront. Nothing finesse about their squads! Heck even Texas and Kansas is going that direction.

It is the style we should be using. Doesn't mean you still can't throw the ball at all. We have adopted the Oregon/Rich-Rod philosophy of offense IMO.

  6. I wish I were as confident as some but I'm not. The only saving Grace about this game is the fact it is played in Lincoln. Until this team proves it won't turn over the ball or showers yellow laundry all over the field at the worst moments possible, how do we expect to beat a team like Michigan? Let alone a Michigan team with a dual threat QB.

    34-21 Michigan

  7. I don't believe Bo has lost the team at all either. But the team itself being lost may be closer to the truth. They just aren't playing the type of ball they should be with the type of talent we have. I don't know if they are just thinking to much, pressing or just not being put in the right spots? We just need to keep sawing wood and win no matter how ugly.

  8. With this team I agree, just take a win no matter how much it is by. If we end up the season with just 2-3 losses and most of the games were close, so be it. At least that will have proved this team hanged tough and had heart. We have the talent but we just seem to be lacking in discipline of some sorts.

  9. If he continues to show more of a compassionate side to go along with his firey personality then I can take that (quit being so damn stubborn). Also if he and his staff can fix the scheme issues they are having (namely against DT QB's) or putting in the right players to win (young or old) then the Huskers can turn this season around to be a very successful one. Then he will win back all the fans into his corner.

  10. Delva seems to have a final four.... Nebraska, Oregon State, Kansas State and Tennessee.

Has officially visited OSU and has a visit scheduled with Tennessee around Thanksgiving. Hasn't set his Nebraska or Kansas State visits yet.

  11. Name: Braden Smith

    Hometown: Olathe (South), Kansas

    Position: OT

    Height: 6'6"

    Weight: 275-pounds

Offers: Iowa, Kansas, Kansas State, Michigan, Michigan State, Missouri, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Stanford, TCU, Texas, Texas A&M and Virginia.

Smith is one of the top line prospects in all of the 2014 class. Will be a very tough get for the Huskers or anyone in general. Team to keep a eye on is probably Oklahoma. I know Coach Garrison is recruiting Braden very hard!
