  1. I'd like to see the huskers go up against the ducks, not sure that Nebraska would win but it would be a good measuring stick kinda game that would show how good we have gotten verse the spread type of teams since Oregon is probably the best at it and if the huskers actually won the game that would be nice too

  2. hopefully he ends up being better than the last juco d-end we got, Carter has never really made much of an impact

Why even make a comment you cann't be a husker fan .

    Welcome a board Gregory

you're right how dare i hope he ends up being a great player

But you don't need to take a pot shot at one of our current players to "hope" that.

Carter has contributed. Maybe not as much on the field as we and he all imagined when he signed with us, but as far as the general public can see, he's gone to school, stayed out of trouble, and represented himself and the university well. That's all we ask of our athletes, and he's been exemplary in that regard.

With our upcoming schedule full of statue QBs, Joseph has plenty of upcoming opportunity to make an impact in the pass rush, which I expect him to do.

Back on topic, I'm very happy we got Randy. Just as for every other player who signs, I am glad to have him and look forward to seeing what he can do.

didn't mean it as an insult/pot shot just saying that i hope that since he's a juco guy he can come in and have an immediate impact since his time is more limited, carter has made some plays the last 2 years i remember him coming in during the Michigan state game last year during 3rd and long situations when they had all the d linemen stand up and getting some good pressure on the qb

  3. so you're telling me Osborne had some top ten classes and ranking between 15-30 in the recruiting ranking? i thought all the rosters from the 1990's were made up of walk-ons and 1 star kids, coaching is the most important thing but you got to get some elite kids as well

The difference being we were Bama' dominant then with classes ranked in the 15-30 while Bama' is Bama' dominant with classes ranked 1-5. We gotta get "some" elite kids. We don't have to have the entire recruiting class made up of elite players. This is what TO did was get "some". Bo has been getting "some". If our wins and losses come down to whether we have consecutive top ten recruiting classes or not, fans are more than likely going to be awfully disappointed.

very true, get some "elite kids" and some unheralded guys that maybe their big instate school didn't want and then coach them up to be great college football players.

  5. no josh mitchell? thought he would get one, i am glad that they didnt hand out too many might make the other young guys like santos and mitchell want to push and play harder to get one and the starters play harder to keep them

He missed out on the Northwestern game, so I am sure that is why he didn't get one. Bo is probably looking for consistency.

maybe but Stanley Jean-Baptiste hasn't started every game either, I'm sure they'll hand out more as the season goes on Bo has usually given them to a couple top reserves and a special teams guy

SJB is also top 40 in passes deflected.

very nice i did not know that about SJB

  7. i cant believe that just a few years ago Nebraska was killing K-state during that Thursday night game and now they're #2 and Nebraska's at where it is, it makes me very sad

  8. i hope he only handed out 11 and not 20 like he has before, just the starters should get them

Who are the starters? I can think of a bunch more than just the "starters" that should get them:

    Steinkuhler

    Meredith

    Caveman

    Ankrah

    Randle

    Compton

    Fisher

    Santos

    Evans

    PJ Smith

    Stafford

    Andrew Green

    SJB

    Seisay

    Mitchell

    Cooper

    Harvey Jackson

That's 17, and you could make a case for Joseph Carter, Chase Rome, and Kevin Williams, and possibly Zaire Anderson even though he is injured. There is not a set 11 players for us that are "starters." It all depends on what package the defense is in, as well as the personnel the other team is using.

you're right there are a lot of guys that contribute its just 17 seems like a lot and kinda takes away its importance but what do i know if they play the rest of the season like they played tonight hand out 100 for all i care

  9. if its close at halftime we win, their defense has no deph from what i've heard so i think we can wear them out in the secound half, but if they're up by two scores its over or if they have all the momentum going into the second half its over, i'm going with Michigan but i'd love to be wrong

  10. I don't even see how this is an issue. We get smoked by Michigan next week, lose one that we shouldn't and this nonsense is over by January. Nebraska gets a real coach and Pelini gets to live out his dream of being an actual cave man somewhere. Win-win.

i think you're right bo will be fired after a 8 win year by a first year AD and then there will be "real" coaches out there willing to take the job

  11.

Ohio State beat Michigan St. by 1. Indiana by 3, and Purdue by 7. There's only one Big Ten team they have played where the game wasn't even close. Guess who? Also, if you want to look at their non con schedule they only beat UAB by 14, Cal by 7, and Central Florida by 15. Of teams played, Miami Ohio and Nebraska are the only two teams they've absolutely dominated. They've squeaked every Big Ten win out but 1, so why should Urban be fired for creaming our ass and continuing to 8-0. Not only that, but I guess I have to remind you that they are undefeated in URBAN MEYER'S FIRST YEAR. So really, with all this talk about DERP. That post actually is the king of all DERPS.

I can't understand the point you are trying to make. So by winning all but one game close, Urban doesn't deserve to be canned? But Bo has won 3+ games by 20+ points, yet he should be canned?

    I'm confused.

It's very complicated isn't it. Here me make simple for you.

Bo Pewini in fifh year. Him win 9 good game but he also wose vewy many bad game each season.. Wen Bo team wose, dey have tendency to wose big and wook vewy vewy bad in the pwocess. After five year of dis some fan think maybe team should not wook so bad or get bwown out so badwy. Wike maybe coaches should be able to make pway calls that make sense. Or a defense that doesn't weak wike a sieve when pwaying mobile QB's wike Wilson in Wisconsin, or Bwaxton Miwwer in Ohio ST. or that kid nobody even knows the name of out in UCLA. You know, wike Denawd Wobinson out der in Michigan. So Bo Pewini has estabwished what we call a twend, and twend of wosing to wanked teams. Wosing on big stages, and his teams making wepeated mistakes, the same mistakes ober and ober and ober and ober.

Urban Meyer, him only be da coach one year. Not 1,2,3,4,5. SEE me counted to 5! Yay. So Urban, him expectations might be a wittle bit wower at Ohio ST. but see him alweady beating dey expectations....see him is 8-0. That means he him win 8 games but him only wose 0. So dem dey call dat to be underfeatered or something wike dat. So him he be do pwetty good. Him's teams wook fiwed up...dey wook well coached. dem pway very hard for dey coach. Pwus, Urban habing fun on duh sidewines. Pwayers dem wespect him cuz him not fweak out or panic wike he might spank dem widdle bottoms when him get upset. You see......dis be best way of expwaining it to childwen wike yourself. You underwastandeded where some peopow might be come fwom. Maybe just a widdle?

    Don't talk down to me.

Let me make some things clear to you:

NUMBAH WON: Ohio State has far superior talent than Nebraska. It was evident in their recruiting classes compared to Pelini's first couple of recruiting classes. That talent difference shouldn't have resulted in a 25 point loss, but it wasn't all down to talent.

NUMBAH TOO: It is a well known fact that Urban Meyer is a better coach than Bo Pelini. He has the track record of making programs competitive. Does that mean that Bo should be fired? No. What does Urban have to do with Bo?

NUMBAH TREE: Why do we fire Bo? What has he done the warrants firing? 9 wins a year? 10 wins in two? Conference Championship Game appearances two years running? What makes you think that firing Bo will allow us to bring in these big name coaches so many of you think will come here just because "NEBRASKA HAS A COACHING VACANCY!!"?

NUMBAH FOUR-UH: There are issues with this team, the consistency and turnovers are frustrating. But there are things going on off the field and on the field that in my mind make up for that. We are graduating football players at an astounding rate. The comebacks against Wisconsin and Northwestern shouldn't have needed to happen, but they did, and that has to demonstrate that the team is behind Bo 100%. What good would it do getting rid of that?

NUMBAH FWIVE: You may think 5 years is a long time; it is to me too. But remember that Bo is a first time head coach--it's going to take longer than 5 years to learn all the nuances of being a head coach. I think he is. Let's see how the team develops for the rest of the year. Yesterday was encouraging from a defensive standpoint. Michigan will be a big stepping stone. Let's save this discussion for after that game.

But continue to talk to me like I'm a 4 year old. Bro, I'm not an idiot. I just can't understand the point that you're trying to make because it lacks in logic and just common sense.

By the way, I'm reporting this. There was no need for you to talk to me like I'm a child just because I disagree with you.

this is great please keep going
